Tissue-resident memory T(T_(RM))cells are increasingly associated with the outcomes of health and disease.T_(RM) cells can mediate local immune protection against infections and cancer,which has led to interest in T_(RM) cells as targets for vaccination and ***,these cells have also been implicated in mediating detrimental pro-inflammatory responses in autoimmune skin diseases such as psoriasis,alopecia areata,and ***,we summarize the biology of T_(RM) cells established in animal models and in translational human *** review the beneficial effects of T_(RM) cells in mediating protective responses against infection and cancer and the adverse role of T_(RM) cells in driving pathology in autoimmunity.A further understanding of the breadth and mechanisms of T_(RM) cell activity is essential for the safe design of strategies that manipulate T_(RM) cells,such that protective responses can be enhanced without unwanted tissue damage,and pathogenic T_(RM) cells can be eliminated without losing local immunity.

The oil and gas industry requires complex subsea infrastructure in order to develop offshore oil and gas *** installation,these components may encounter high slamming loads,stemming from impact with the water *** paper utilises two different numerical methods,the mesh-free Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics(SPH)approach and Reynolds Averaged navier-Stokes(RAnS)Volume of Fluid(VOF)method to quantify these loads on a free-falling *** investigation is also interested in conducting a parameter study and determining the effect of varying simulation parameters on the prediction of slamming event kinematics and *** surface impact of a freefalling wedge was introduced as a case study and has been simulated using SPH and RAnS,with the results being compared to an experimental *** was found from the SPH simulations that particle resolution and the size of the SPH particle kernel are very important,whilst the diffusion term does not play an important *** latter is due to the very transient nature of slamming events,which do not allow sufficient time for diffusion in the fluid *** the RAnS simulations,motion of the wedge was achieved using the overset grid technique,whereby varying the discretising time step was found to have a pronounced impact on the accuracy of the captured slamming *** analysing the numerical data,one can observe that the RAnS results correlate slightly better with the experimental data as opposed to that obtained from the SPH ***,considering the robustness and quick set up of the SPH simulations,both of these two numerical approaches are considered to be promising tools for modelling more complicated slamming problems,including those potentially involving more intricate structures.

Dry reforming of methane(DRM) involves the conversion of carbon dioxide(CO_(2)) and methane(CH_(4)) into syngas(a mixture of hydrogen, H_(2), and carbon monoxide, CO), which can then be used to produce a wide range of products by means of Fischer–Tropsch synthesis. DRM has gained much attention as a means of mitigating damage from anthropogenic greenhouse gas(GHGs) emissions to the environment and instead utilizing these gases as precursors for value-added chemicals or to synthesize sustainable fuels and chemicals. Carbon deposition or coke formation, a primary cause of catalyst deactivation, has proven to be a major challenge in the development of DRM catalysts. The use of nickel-and cobalt-based catalysts has been extensively explored for DRM for their high activity and low cost but suffer from poor stability due to coke formation that has hindered their commercialization. numerous articles have reviewed the various aspects of catalyst deactivation and strategies for mitigation, but few has focused on the benefit of bimetallic catalysts for mitigating coke formation. Bimetallic catalysts, often improve the catalytic stability over their monometallic counterparts due to synergistic effects resulting from two metal-tometal interactions. This review will cover DRM literature for various bimetallic catalyst systems, including the effect of supports and promoters, on the mitigation of carbonaceous deactivation.

Duodenal gangliocytic paraganglioma with lymph node metastases: a case report and comparative review of 31 cases

Gangliocytic paraganglioma(GP) is a rare tumor of uncertain origin most often located in the second portion of the duodenum. It is composed of three cellular components: Epithelioid endocrine cells, spindlelike/sustentacular cells, and ganglion-like cells. While this tumor most often behaves in a benign manner, cases with metastasis are reported. We describe the case of a 62-year-old male with a periampullary GP with metastases to two regional lymph nodes who was successfully treated with pancreaticoduodenectomy. Using Pub Med, EMBASE, EBSCOhost MEDLInE and CInAHL, and Google Scholar, we searched the literature for cases of GP with regional lymph node metastasis and evaluated the varying presentations, diagnostic workup, and disease management of identified cases. Thirty-one cases of GP with metastasis were compiled(30 with at least lymph node metastases and one with only distant metastasis to bone), with age at diagnosis ranging from 16 to 74 years. Ratio of males to females was 19:12. The most common presenting symptoms were abdominal pain(55%) and gastrointestinal bleeding or sequelae(42%). Twenty-five patients underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy. Five patients were treated with local resection alone. One patient died secondary to metastatic disease, and one died secondary to perioperative decompensation. The remainder did well, with no evidence of disease at follow-up from the most recent procedure(except two in which residual disease was deliberately left behind). Of the 26 cases with sufficient histological description, 16 described a primary tumor that infiltrated deep to the submucosa, and 3 described lymphovascular invasion. Of the specific immunohistochemistry staining patterns studied, synaptophysin(SYn) stained all epithelioid endocrine cells(18/18). neuron specific enolase(nSE) and SYn stained most ganglion-like cells(7/8 and 13/18 respectively), and S-100 stained all spindle-like/sustentacular cells(21/21). Formic acid is recognized as a promising hydrogen carrier. It readily decomposes to release hydrogen (and carbon dioxide) in the presence of apposite catalysts. The main deficiency of this practice is that the reverse reaction, the hydrogenation of carbon dioxide to formic acid is an uphill reaction necessitating extreme conditions. Carbon dioxide should be converted to bicarbonate salts since their hydrogenation is reasonable for storing hydrogen. The related approach has a drawback as formate salts are produced. The latter has lower weight percentage of hydrogen and they must be converted to formic acid. The goals of our research were to separate formate salt from the reaction mixture and to convert it to formic acid. In this paper, we present a process that combines the advantages of both methodologies—formic acid is the carrier, but the hydrogen is charged to a bicarbonate ion. This stage completes the formic acid cycle (FAC), which could operate as a continuous process for the production and storage of hydrogen. Additional research, including proper rescaling and optimization, should be carried out in order to assess the potential of such a process as a basis for replacing the present day combustion of fossil fuels with hydrogen usage in fuel cells.

The widespread precatalyst (prepared in-situ or ex-situ) (arene) RuTsDPEn advocated for highly effectual asymmetric transfer hydrogenation (ATH) reactions with 2-propanol as hydrogen donor at ambient conditions, is proven to be unstable under the strong reducing conditions prevailing in the reaction mixtures (blend of alcohol and a base such as KOH). We assert that the true catalysts are the ruthenium metal nanoclusters formed swiftly under the reducing conditions of these systems. The TsDPEn ligand plays a critical role in the generation and formatting of the active catalyst including wreaking chiral properties to the so formed catalytic nanoparticles. Kinetic measurements, nMR, UV-visible spectroscopy, circular dichroism (CD) and TEM analyses corroborate this argument.
