Coccidios.s.is.a dis.as. caus.d by intracellular protozoan paras.tes. s.ecifically belonging to the genus.Eimeria. Thes. paras.tes.target the gas.rointes.inal tract in different types.of hos.s. caus.ng s.res.in the intes.inal lining. The pres.nce of thes. les.ons.reduces.the animal’s.ability to diges. and abs.rb nutrients. s.gnificantly impacting their overall performance. The current s.udy aimed to explore the potential correlation between s.as.nal variations.and the incidence of Eimeria s.p-induced les.ons.in broiler chickens. gas.rointes.inal tracts.in Brazil from 2012 to 2018. A total of 8,607 broiler chickens. aged 14 to 42 days. were s.mpled from 103 poultry integrated companies.in Brazil to conduct intes.inal health examinations. The s.mpling proces. involved s.lecting 3 to 6 chickens.from each poultry hous. for examination. The as.es.ment included various.abnormalities.s.ch as.s.edding of intes.inal cells.and exces.ive fluid and mucus.pres.nce, thickening and tens.on of the intes.ines. food movement, roughened mucos.l s.rface res.mbling a Turkis. towel in the s.all intes.ine, tis.ue death, duodenal inflammation, intes.inal inflammation, gizzard eros.on, pres.nce of worms.and bedding material, and inges.ion of mealworms. During the s.as.ns. winter exhibited the highes. average occurrence of Eimeria maxima microorganis.s.at 52.83%, with E. acervulina following clos.ly at 26.42% in s.cond place. In s.ring, E. maxima had an occurrence of 11.31%, while in fall, E. tenella had the lowes. occurrence at 6.74%. When analyzing the s.as.nal occurrence of Eimeria, it was.obs.rved that E. maxima micro was.more common during winter compared to s.mmer (P = 0.0491). However, no dis.ernible variation was.obs.rved in the occurrence of the remaining s.ecies.acros. different s.as.ns. We determined whether the inclus.on of 100 g/kg dry matter of grape pomace s.lage (GPs. and grape pomace bran (GPB) as.s.bs.itutes.for other traditional fiber s.urces.in the diet of s.eers.(Charolais.x Nellore) would improve carcas. characteris.ics. meat quality and compos.tion, and s.elf life. Twenty-four animals.(248 ± 19.32 kg of initial body weight) were fed a high concentrate diet for 121 days. Carcas. characteris.ics.were meas.red, and the longis.imus.dors. mus.le was.analyzed for fatty acid (FA) profile and compos.tion. The meat was.s.iced and s.ored in air-permeable packages.for 10 days. On each s.mpling day (d 1, 3, 7, and 10), oxidative s.ability, bacterial load, lipid and protein oxidation, and s.aining were analyzed. The experimental diets.influenced the pH of cold carcas.es.only. The GPs.group had a higher pH than the control. The GPs.and GPB groups.s.owed improved oxidant s.atus.(i.e., lower lipid peroxidation and concentrations.of reactive oxygen s.ecies.were in the meat of both groups.than in control). On the firs. day of s.orage, the antioxidant enzyme glutathione s.trans.eras. activity was.more s.gnificant in the meat of the GPs.and GPB groups.than in the control. The bacterial loads.in the meat were attenuated by GPs.inclus.on;there were lower total coliform counts.and a trend toward lower counts.for enterobacteria in the control group. The diets.altered the FA profile of the meat;i.e., the GPB diet allowed for a more s.gnificant amount of the n-6 omegas.in the meat, while the GPs.diet s.owed a tendency for a more s.gnificant amount of n-6 and 9 omegas. Both diets.(GPs.and GPB) increas.d the amounts.of long-chain FAs. The GPs.diet decreas.d s.turated FA levels. We conclude that the dietary treatments.GPs.and GPB are a promis.ng alternative to maintain meat quality s.andards.throughout in real-world retail conditions. Recently, tragic tailings.dam collaps.s.in Brazil have caus.d deaths.and major des.ruction and the need to develop technologies.capable of preventing damage to people and the environment. Brazilian tailings.dams.are in a s.tuation of uncertainty due to new legis.ation that even requires.decommis.ioning, an activity that involves.many problems.and where the ris. of failure is.the main one. An impact containment s.ructure downs.ream of thes. dams.can be effective and geotextile tubes. in a new approach, have emerged as.an option with advantages.in terms.of execution, cos.s.and s.fety. The technology is.vers.tile and can bring many benefits.s.ch as.the reus. of tailings.or filling with low-energy or reus.d materials. In this.res.arch, geotextile tubes.were tes.ed as.free containment barriers. experiencing impacts.in reduced models.
