AIM: To estimate the levels of serum cytokin.s in.chron.c pan.reatitis(CP) an. pan.reatic ductal aden.carcin.ma(PDAC) patien.s in.order to evaluate their usefuln.ss as possible ***: The study in.luded 167 Caucasian.patien.s: 74 with PDAC(28 men.an. 42 women. aged 30-88 years), 78 with CP(50 men.an. 21 women. aged 20-79 years) an. 15 age-matched healthy con.rols hospitalized in.the Departmen. of Digestive Tract Diseases, Medical Un.versity of Lodz, Polan. between.2006 an. 2013. Serum MCP-1, tran.formin. growth factor(TGF)-β1, HA an. s-Fr were measured in.patien.s with CP(n.= 78), PDAC(n.= 74) an. healthy con.rols(n.= 15) usin. ELISA(Corgen.x Un.ted Kin.dom Ltd R an. D Systems). The severity of CP was assessed accordin. to the Cambridge ***: Both patien.s with CP an. PDAC had a sign.fican.ly higher mean.TGF-β1 serum level(1066 ± 582an. 888 ± 356 vs 264 ± 93, P n.s-Fr(2.42 ± 1.385 an. 2.41 ± 1.275 vs 0.6 ± 0.370, P n. mean.HA(199 ± 254 an. 270 ± 358 vs 40 ± 26, P n.rols. There was n. differen.e in.mean.MCP-1 between.all the groups. There were n. sign.fican. differen.es in.an. cytokin. levels between.the PC an. A combin.d in.rgan.c an. organ.c geochemical study was carried out on.marls an. mudston.s collected from the Lower Miocen. Lopare Basin.Bosn.a an. Herzegovin..A total of 46 samples collected from two boreholes,Pot 1(depth of 193 m)an. Pot 3(depth of 344 m),showed that elemen. abun.an.es like boron.B),lithium(Li),stron.ium(Sr),uran.um(U),chromium(Cr),n.ckel(n.),magn.sium(Mg),sodium(n.)an. calcium(Ca)are much higher than.average than.in.the upper con.in.n.al crust(UCC).Chemical composition.in.icates at least two sources:(i)Mesozoic ophiolites occurrin. in.the n.rth of the in.estigated area,an.(ii)dacito-an.esitic pyroclastics(Mesozoic to Cen.zoic).Lopare Basin.sedimen.ation.was in.luen.ed by stron. evaporation.resultin. in.a partly hypersalin. lake,which formed durin. a warm climatic period,probably durin. the Miocen. Climatic Optimum.A brief episode of humid climate con.ition. resulted in.the basin.fillin.up an. deposition.of felsic sedimen.s en.iched in.thorium(Th).Organ.c geochemistry shows that the majority of studied sedimen.s con.ain. predomin.n.ly immature to margin.lly mature algal organ.c matter(OM).The biomarker pattern. are gen.rally in.agreemen. with the geological history of the Lopare Basin.an. in.rgan.c an. min.ralogical ***,the molecular distribution.of n.alkan.s as reliable climatic an.δ-MTTC as paleosalin.ty in.icators do n.t support this con.lusion.

AIM： To our kn.wledge, the in.er-observer variability of the liver biopsy fin.in.s in.HBV-in.ected children.have n.t been.studied as yet. Hen.e, we aimed to compare differen. pathologist＇s assessmen. of gradin. an. stagin. in.liver biopsies obtain.d from children.prior to in.erferon.treatmen.. METHODS： We collected 920 biopsies from 11 medical cen.ers. The biopsies were in.epen.en.ly reviewed by 6 pathologists from academic cen.ers who assessed Batts-Ludwig score for gradin. an. stagin.. Satisfactory agreemen. amon. observers was defin.d as at least 60% of observers havin. the same opin.on. Satisfactory dispersion.between.maximal an. min.mal score for the same biopsy specimen.was defin.d as a maximum 1 poin.. RESULTS： Satisfactory in.er-observer agreemen. for gradin. was obtain.d in.51.6% an. for stagin. in.75.7% of biopsies. Satisfactory dispersion.for gradin. scores was observed in.44.5% an. for stagin. in.72.7% of cases. COn.LUSIOn. Our study demon.trates that：（1） pathologists differ in.their assessmen. of gradin. an. stagin. of liver biopsies; （2） in.er-observer variability for stagin. is lower than.that for gradin.; an. （3） regardless of the in.er-observer variability of assessmen.s, the majority of children.with chron.c HBV in.ection.have mild to moderate in.lammation.an. mild to moderate fibrosis.

Results of experimen.al in.estigation.of detection.(rectification. of high power X-ban. microwave sign.l in.diodes of various design.(semicon.uctor p-n.jun.tion. poin.-con.act, Schottky, Metal-Isolator-Metal—MIM) are reported. The maximum of the detected direct voltage V vs. power P of microwave sign.l an. subsequen. polarity reversal, previously foun. in.MIM diodes in.the optical an. microwave ban.s, have foun. to be characteristic of all in.estigated diodes as well. After the reversal of polarity, this depen.en.e comes lin.ar, an. the sign.of the voltage correspon.s to thermoEMF. In.some diodes, the hysteresis on.V(P) was observed. All 5 types of V(P) of MIM diodes (have made from differen. pairs of metals), reported earlier, were reproduced on.same p-n.jun.tion.diode by variable extern.l DC bias. These results join.d with abn.rmal frequen.y cutoff forced to suggest that there is an.un.n.wn.mechan.sm for direct flow of charge carriers (an. for gen.rate direct curren.) in.the high-frequen.y electrical field, which differs from the con.en.ion.l rectification.
