Paper Analysis of the WATCHMAN on the Reduction of Stroke Compared to Anticoagulants: A Systematic Review of the Literature

We screened growth differentiation factor 9(GDF9)coding regions for mutations in a Chinese sample of 100 women with premature ovarian failure(POF)and discovered 4 novel SNPs: c.436C>T(***146Cys),c.588A>C(silent),c.712A>G(***238A1a)and c.1283G>C(***428Thr). Non-synonymous SNPs c.436C>T and c.1283G>C were also detected in the control *** c.712A>G perturbation results in a missense mutation(***238A1a)and was not present in any of 96 *** of the hydrophobic amino acid residue alanine for hydrophilic threonine may disrupt GDF9 function.

Objective: Anticoagulants have been approved and used for decades as highly effective blood thinners. The objective of this study is to analyze the clinical trials in order to determine if the Watchman reduces the risk of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation compared to those prescribed the traditional anticoagulants. This will contribute to the current body of knowledge and possibly provide beneficial clinical guidance with respect to providing an alternative option for those suffering from non-valvular Atrial fibrillation. Methods: A systematic literature search through the Saint James School of Medicine library resources as well as PubMed, Medscape, Google Scholar was conducted. Studies were included if the literature examined the comparison between the Watchman device and four specific anticoagulants (Xarelto, Eliquis, Pradaxa, and Warfarin) in association with reduction of risks of strokes in an atrial fibrillation population. The study includes a qualitative sub-analysis to explore additional clinical aspects that may affect risk of stroke and response of treatment. Results: Outcomes were significant for similar stroke occurrence, when compared to published clinical trials. Alternatively, there was a significant reduction in risk of bleeding and all-cause mortality in the Watchman™ device compared to traditional NOACs and warfarin. While examining the studies and trials, overall, the Watchman™ device offers a better long-term outcome therapy for non-valvular atrial fibrillation populations who are not possibilities for extended anticoagulation. The studies used for analysis examining the dosage found higher fatality with increased use of NOACs and more hospitalizations with decreased use. Conclusion: From the presented data, it is safe to say that the Watchman™ device is a viable and effective alternative for stroke prophylaxis in certain patient populations. Background: A special pillow was designed to redistribute mechanical stress during sleeping in order to slow down the formation of facial skin wrinkles. Objective: To investigate whether sleeping on a specially designed pillow reduces facial skin wrinkles. Participants and Methods: A 28-day pilot study was carried out in which fifteen healthy female volunteers aged 23 - 55 years (mean age 35. 6 ± 8.5) slept on an antiwrinkle pillow. Evaluation of facial wrinkles was conducted before commencing the study (T0), following at 14 days (T14), and at 28 days (T28) when the study ended. Wrinkle density was assessed by computerized analysis of 2D images of participants’ faces. Results: A statistically significant decrease in wrinkle density was detected while smiling around both eyes, around the right eye in a relaxed facial expression, on average in all observed facial areas, around the left periorbital area in participants who predominantly slept on their left side of the body, but not on the frontal area. Limitations: A 3D camera could be used to better visualize and analyze wrinkle density. Conclusions: Sleeping on the specially designed pillow reduces facial wrinkles.

The Republic of Serbia is characterized by an unsatisfactory macroeconomic environment. Under the conditions of an evident shortage of liquid assets, the financial capital has moved from real to the financial sector, which led companies to over-indebtedness and shutdown of their own capacities. Therefore, capital investments largely depend on internal financing sources and the ability of companies to internally generate funds for investments. In this regard, an emphasis is placed on the difference in the assessment of the company＇s investment capacity based on internal financing sources, which are measured using static and dynamic indicators in order to prove the necessity of applying dynamic coefficients, which are unfortunately not present in our domestic practice. The paper examines and proves the advantages of the use of the dynamic approach for such analyses using the example of energy sector, which is one of the most important branches in Serbian economy.

国际金融危机之后,中国的发展到了一个至关重要的转折点。中国经济开始脱离出口导向的、以低端制造业为主的发展模式,试图建立更稳健的国内经济体系和更可持续发展的增长模式。但是,发展遇到的最大阻碍将会是中国家庭消费水平低的问题。因为这一问题将对中国国内市场、经济的长期发展、社会繁荣和政治和谐产生巨大影响,本文将对限制和刺激内需的这一颇具挑战性的话题进行深入的研究。本文不会从中国的文化、历史中寻找中国消费水平较低的原因,而是集中研究传统的经济规律对中国消费者消费习惯(或消费习惯的缺乏)的影响和塑造。本研究注意到中国正在由计划经济向市场经济转型,而此过程带来了的急剧的政策变化。在变革公共经济部门的过程中,中央与地方政府都希望通过改革减轻财政负担,减少社会保险和福利的财政支出;而改革损害了职工原来享有的福利待遇,如退休福利、卫生保健、住宅福利等。结果,不断上升的社会不确定性引起预防性储蓄的不断增长,并且阻止未来消费的增长。那些鼓励储蓄的措施只是导致了消费水平的下降,而不是低消费水平的根本原因。本文认为由于改革开放之后,市场不能够快速地创造新的就业机会,而且企业尤其是小型企业面临着融资渠道的阻碍,这些因素导致了中国的家庭收入增长率一直低于经济增长率,也构成了国内消费总体水平低的主要原因。笔者在本文中将采用国际银行2005年对中国各个地方12400个公司进行调查获得的数据。通过数据分析的结果显示：按照企业管理层的说法,信贷约束对企业的经营与发展有着最重要的影响。确切的说,本文采取主成份分析法(Principle Component Analysis)进行分析,得出了以下结论：信贷约束不仅严重影响了企业的经营与发展,还是企业劳动力增长的最大阻碍。对劳动力增长的限制也导致了中国家庭消费水平低的问题。

With the rapid increase in electricity demand, how to provide stable energy supply by microgrid has become an important research direction. The precision and stability control of microgrid have been extensively studied, so this paper reviews the structure and control strategy of microgrid. Firstly, the structure of different microgrid is summarized and analyzed. Secondly,control strategies of microgrid are analyzed, while operation control strategy of islanded and grid-connected mode, three-layer control strategy of microgrid and multi-microgrid parallel optimal scheduling control strategy have been explored. Finally, future research direction of microgrid is discussed.

The aim of this research was to examine the influence of vanadium on the structure, hardness and tensile strength of X I60CrMo 12-1 self-hardened steels. It is known that vanadium affects the process of solidification of this alloy in a way that narrows temperature interval of crystallization. Vanadium, as an alloying element, moves liquidus and solidus lines toward higher temperatures, approximately for 25 to 30 ~C. In addition, vanadium forms V6C5 carbides, which, are partly distributed between present phases in the steel; carbide （Cr,Fe）7C3 and austenite. The presence of vanadium enables the formation of （Cr, Fe）23C6 carbide and its precipitation into austenite during the cooling process. In local areas around fine carbide particles, austenite is transformed into martensite, i.e., vanadium reduces remained austenite and improves steel air-hardening. Vanadium concentration over 2.5% significantly improves the impact toughness. The basic problem in the application of high alloyed Cr-Mo steels is to increase their impact toughness and thereby sustain a relatively high value of hardness. Recent studies, concerning to the chemical composition and heat treatment regime, show that it is possible to get a martensitic structure with a very small amount of retained austenite. Investigations are directed toward the testing of the influence of alloying elements such as molybdenum, manganese and especially vanadium. Vanadium has great influence to the crystallization process. With increasing of its content, the eutectic point moves toward lower carbon concentrations and the temperature interval of solidification is narrowing.
