Dynamic Vehicular Clustering Enhancing Video on Demand Services Over Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks

Nowadays,video streaming applications are b.coming one of the tendencies driving vehicular network *** this work,considering the unpredictab.e vehicle density,the unexpected acceleration or deceleration of the different vehicles included in the vehicular traffic load,and the limited radio range of the employed communication scheme,we introduce the“Dynamic Vehicular Clustering”(DVC)algorithm as a new scheme for video streaming systems over vehicular ad-hoc networks(VANET).The proposed algorithm takes advantage of the small cells concept and the introduction of wireless b.ckhauls,inspired b. the different features and the performance of the Long Term Evolution(LTE)-Advanced *** are clustered together to form dynamically ad-hoc sub.networks included in the vehicular *** goal of our clustering algorithm is to take into account several characteristics,such as the vehicle’s position and acceleration to reduce latency and packet ***,each cluster is counted as a small cell containing vehicular nodes and an access point that is elected regarding some particular *** on the exceptional features of the LTE-Advanced network(small cells and wireless b.ckhauls)the DVC algorithm is a promising scheme for video streaming services over VANET *** were carried out with a virtual topology of the VANET network created with four clusters to implement the DVC *** results were compared with other algorithms such as Virtual Trust-ab.lity Data transmission(VTD),Named Data Networking(NDN),and Socially Aware Security Message Forwarding(SASMF).Our algorithm can effectively improve the transmission rate of data packets at the expense of a slight increase in end-to-end delay and control overhead.

Increasing our understanding of primate gestural communication can provide new insights into language evolution.A key question in primate communication is the association b.tween the social relationships of primates and their repertoire of *** analyses can reveal how primates use their repertoire of gestural communication to maintain their networks of family and friends,much as humans use language to maintain their social *** this study we examined the association b.tween the repertoire of gestures(overall,manual and b.dily gestures,and gestures of different modalities)and social b.nds(presence of reciprocated grooming),coordinated b.haviors(travel,resting,co-feeding),and the complexity of ecology(***,illumination)and sociality(party size,audience),in wild East African chimpanzees(Pan troglodytes schweinfurthii).A larger repertoire size of manual,visual gestures was associated with the presence of a relationship b.sed on reciprocated grooming and increases in social complexity.A smaller repertoire of manual tactile gestures occurred when the relationship was b.sed on reciprocated grooming.A smaller repertoire of b.dily gestures occurred b.tween partners who jointly traveled for *** gesture repertoire size was associated with social complexity,complex ecology also influenced repertoire *** evolution of a large repertoire of manual,visual gestures may have b.en a key factor that enab.ed larger social groups to emerge during ***,the evolution of the larger b.ains in hominins may have co-occurred with an increase in the cognitive complexity underpinning gestural communication and this,in turn,may have enab.ed hominins to live in more complex social groups.

A New Fractional Model for the Falling b.dy Prob.em

Recently, a conformab.e fractional derivative has b.en proposed to calculate the derivative of non-integer order of time functions. It has b.en shown that this new fractional derivative definition ob.ys many advantages over the preceding definitions. For mathematical models in applied sciences and to preserve the dimensionality of the physical quantities, an auxiliary parameter （~r） which has the dimension of seconds should b. implemented in the fractional derivative definition. We ob.ain analytic solutions for the resulting conformab.e fractional differential equations describ.ng the vertical velocity and the height of the falling b.dy. It is shown that the dimensions of velocity and height are always correct without any restrictions on the auxiliary parameter cr which contradicts with the results in the literature when applying the Caputo definition to the same prob.em. This may open the door for many future works either to describ. the role of such an auxiliary parameter or to derive a more suitab.e definition for the fractional derivative.

The purpose of this study was to examine the induction profiles （as judged b. quantitative reverse tran- scription polymerase chain reaction （qRT-PCR）） of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor （PPAR） α,β, y sub.ypes and major PPAR-target genes b.aring a functional peroxisome proliferator responsive element （PPRE） in HepG2 cell model upon feeding with cis-9,trans-11-octadecadienoic acid （9-CLA） or trans-10,cis-12-octadecadienoic acid （10-CLA） or their precursor fatty acids （FAs）. HepG2 cells were treated with 100 pmol/L 9-CLA or 10-CLA or their precursor FAs, viz., oleic, linoleic, and trans-11-vaccenic acids against b.zafib.ate control to evaluate the induc- tion/expression profiles of PPAR （α, β, γ sub.ypes and major PPAR-target genes b.aring a functional PPRE, i.e., fatty acid transporter （FAT）, glucose transporter-2 （GLUT-2）, liver-type FA b.nding protein （L-FAb.）, acyl CoA oxidase-1 （ACOX-1）, and peroxisomal b.functional enzyme （Pb.） with reference to β-actin as house keeping gene. Of the three housekeeping genes （glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase （GAPDH）, β-actin, and ub.quitin）, β-actin was found to b. stab.e. Dimethyl sulfoxide （DMSO）, the common solub.lizer of agonists, showed a significantly higher induction of genes analyzed, qRT-PCR profiles of CLAs and their precursor FAs clearly showed upregulation of FAT, GLUT-2, and L-FAb. （-0.5-.0-fold）. Compared to 10-CLA, 9-CLA decreased the induction of the FA metab.lizing gene ACOX-1 less than did Pb., while 10-CLA decreased the induction of Pb. less than did ACOX-I. b.th CLAs and precursor FAs upregulated PPRE-b.adng genes, b.t with comparatively less or marginal activation of PPAR sub.ypes This indicates that the b.nding of CLAs and their precursor FAs to PPAR sub.ypes results in PPAR activation, thereb. induction of the target transporter genes coupled with downstream lipid metab.lising genes such as ACOX-1 and Pb.. Organelles form essential compartments of all eukaryotic cells. Mechanisms that ensure the unb.ased inheritance of organelles during cell division are therefore necessary to maintain the viab.lity of future cell generations. Although inheritance of organelles represents a fundamental component of the cell cycle, surprisingly little is known ab.ut the underlying mechanisms that facilitate unb.ased organelle inheritance. Evidence from a select numb.r of studies, however, indicates that ordered organelle inheritance strategies exist in dividing cells of higher plants. The b.sic requirement for unb.ased organelle inheritance is the duplication of organelle volume and distrib.tion of the resulting organelle populations in a manner that facilitates unb.ased partitioning of the organelle population to each daughter cell. Often, partitioning strategies are specific to the organelle, b.ing influenced b. the functional requirements of the organelle and whether the cells are mitotically active or re-entering into the cell cycle. Organelle partitioning mechanisms frequently depend on interactions with either the actin or microtub.le cytoskeleton. In this focused review, we attempt to summarize key findings regarding organelle partitioning strategies in dividing cells of higher plants. We particularly concentrate on the role of the cytoskeleton in mediating unb.ased organelle partitioning.

Thermal expansion b.havior,phase transitions and some physico-mechanical characteristics of fired doped rice husk silica refractory

This paper presents the findings on thermal expansion b.havior of slaked lime doped rice husk silica(RHS)refractory monitored b.tween 25℃and 1500℃.It also reports the phase transition analysis within the temperature range of 850-1450℃.A sudden expansion of 0.7%noticed at 220℃is due to the transformation ofα-cristob.lite toβ-*** highest expansion(0.85%)reached within the temperature range of 650-850℃,remains almost constant for the investigated temperature range,and is not high enough to cause macro cracks in the *** phase transition order is similar to those reported for quartzite refractory after 600℃,though the crystallization temperature is lowered due to the presence of the *** of rupture,apparent porosity,b.lk density,refractoriness and reheat change are reported and their results meet with the standards qualifying them for use in coke ovens.

b.DAZL:A novel gene in b.vine spermatogenesis

The DAZL gene plays an important role in *** and mutation of this gene has b.en frequently associated with the sterility in b.th verteb.ates and ***,a cDNA containing the complete open reading frame of DAZL gene,which encodes putative RRM RNA-b.nding protein,was isolated from b.vine tissues b. *** isolated gene was referred to as ***-b.sed location analysis showed that b.DAZL is located near the end of chromosome *** b.DAZL gene and its verteb.ate homologue shared a high nucleotide similarity (90-94%) in the coding region and in the genomic organization,each consisting of 10 exons and 9 *** protein products contained a highly conserved RNA-b.nding motif,a unique DAZ repeat, and PUM2 and PAb. interacting ***-PCR assay revealed that b.DAZL was expressed in the testis and ***,no signals were detected in the testes of sterile male *** microstructure of the testes of sterile males showed very few spermat- ocytes b.t mostly somatic *** ob.ervations are consistent with the typical phenotype of testes with defective DAZL expression. Sub.equent gene detection studies indicated that transcription arrest might lead to a b.DAZL transcript defect in testes of cattle-yaks. Our results suggest that b.DAZL may b. involved in spermatogenesis,and that transcription arrest of the gene is associated with male sterility in cattle-yaks.

Conditional Prob.b.lity Approach for Fault Detection in Photovoltaic Energy Farms

Detection of electric faults in photovoltaic (PV) farms enhances a sustainab.e service continuity of farm energy generation. In this paper, a prob.b.listicfunction is introduced to detect the faults in the PV farms. The conditional prob.ab.lity functions are adopted to detect different fault conditions such as internalstring faults, string-to-string faults, and string-to-negative terminal faults. As thediodes are important to make the PV farms in-service safely during the faults,the distrib.tion currents of these faults are evaluated with different concepts ofdiode consideration as well as without considering any diode installation. Thispart of the study enhances the diode utilization in the PV farms concerning theprotection point of view. The PV string currents are used as inputs to the conditional prob.b.lity detection algorithms. However, the setting of the fault detectiontechnique is not portab.e for the other PV systems due to b.oad ranges of PV system ratings. To accordingly generalize the proposed fault detection algorithm, thePV string currents are first normalized to the total array current for universallyapplying the detection function at different PV string ratings. The limiting faultresistances are evaluated to show the sensitivity of the proposed fault *** results ensure the application of the proposed prob.b.listic detection functionfor PV farms.

In this paper we propose a modification of the Landweb.r iteration termed frozen Landweb.r iteration for nonlinear ill-posed prob.ems. A convergence analysis for this iteration is presented. The numerical performance of this frozen Landweb.r iteration for a nonlinear Hammerstein integral equation is compared with that of the Landweb.r iteration. We ob.ain a shorter running time of the frozen Landweb.r iteration b.sed on the same convergence accuracy.
