This work analyzes the photometric data of the Oort spike comets C/2019 L3(ATLAS)and C/2019 O3(Palomar)obtained between 2016 and 2023 by the ATLAS network and the Belgian Olmen *** comets Palomar and ATLAS have a typical and unusually high activity level,respectively,based on the Afρparameter corrected to phase angle zero at *** absolute magnitude of comets ATLAS and Palomar in the o-band is 4.71±0.05 and 4.16±0.02 *** cometary activity of comets ATLAS and Palomar probably began at r>13 au before perihelion and will end at r>14 au after perihelion,which means that they could remain active until the second half of *** nucleus of comet ATLAS has a minimum radius of 7.9 km,and the nucleus of comet Palomar could be a little *** c-o colors of the comets ATLAS and Palomar are redder and bluer,respectively,at perihelion than the solar twin YBP *** comets showed a bluish trend in the coma color with decreasing heliocentric *** Palomar probably had two outbursts after its perihelion,each releasing about 10^(8)kg of *** slopes of the photometric profile of the comae of these comets were between 1and 1.5,indicating a steady state during the observation campaign.

The aim of this paper is to prove the existence of one or multiple solutions of nonlinear difference equations coupled to a general set of boundary *** to do this,we construct a discrete operator whose fixed points coincide with the solutions of the problem we are looking ***,we introduce a strong positiveness condition on the related Green's function that allows us to construct suitable cones where to apply adequate fixed point *** we have the general existence result,we deduce,as a particular case,the existence of solutions of a second order difference equation with nonlocal perturbed Dirichlet conditions.

This paper provides a realistic estimation of the sea level rise by 2050 and by 2100 in the Mexican Caribbean,and more specifically in the North-East side of the Yucatan peninsula,in between Cancun and Playa del Carmen,where the most part of the touristic developments of the Yucatan is *** forecast is based on the relative sea level result for Key West,the closest long-term trend(LTT)tide gauge,the relative sea level results for all the other LTT tide gauge records of the world,and the absolute velocity of GPS domes located close to the Key West tide gauge,and in between Cancun and Playa del *** likely change of the sea level is 67-76 mm higher by 2050,and 201-223 mm higher by 2100,with reference to the values of 2018.

We describe precise equivalences between theoretical descriptions of: (i) size-rank and first-digit laws for numerical data sets, (ii) intermittency at the transition to chaos in nonlinear maps, and (iii) cluster fluctuations at criticality. The equivalences stem from a common statistical-mechanical structure that departs from the usual via a one-parameter deformation of the exponential and logarithmic functions. The generalized structure arises when configurational phase space is incompletely visited such that the accessible fraction has fractal properties. Thermodynamically, the common focal expression is an (incomplete) Legendre transform between two entropy (or Massieu) potentials. The theory is in quantitative agreement with real size-rank data and it naturally includes the bends or tails observed for small and large rank.

NEOM is a“New Future”city powered by renewable energy only,where solar photovoltaic,wind,solar ther-mal,and battery energy storage will supply all the energy needed to match the demand integrated by artificial intelligence *** this context,the weight of solar thermal is supposed to *** solar power is the only renewable energy with the added value of *** to solar photovoltaic and wind,which suffer from intermittency and unpredictability,thus necessitating economically and environ-mentally expensive external energy storage by batteries,concentrated solar power may be fitted with internal energy storage by molten salt providing a much cheaper and environmentally friendly *** the solar field and the thermal energy storage,the otherwise traditional design with steam Rankine cycles of temperature and pressure to turbine about 565℃ and 100 bar permits highly dispatchable electricity with Lev-elized Cost of Electricity(LCOE)slightly above 7.5¢/kWh in NEOM City,Kingdom of Saudi *** using higher temperature and pressure to the turbine of 730℃ and 330 bar,the LCOE can be further reduced to below 6.5¢/*** wind and solar photovoltaic are much cheaper,at less than 3–4¢/kWh,their intermittency and unpredictability necessitate energy storage by Lithium-Ion batteries of additional cost 14–28¢/***,the integration of renewable energy technologies through Artificial Intelligence(AI)will be the New Future in NEOM City,with solar photovoltaic,wind,battery energy storage,and solar thermal,the building blocks,and solar thermal increasing the share of energy supply.

The main advantages of the use of ionic liquids in enhanced oil recovery are their tunability and stability in harsh environmental conditions. In this work, a comprehensive review of ionic liquids proposed to improve current chemical oil recovery methods has been presented, focusing on core flooding experiments. With an almost infinite number of possible ionic liquids, the amount of experiments carried out up to now has been very limited. However, results are promising, with additional recovery after secondary flooding of up to 32% of the original oil in place. Most formulations with ionic liquids have been proposed for sandstone reservoirs, the number of studies with carbonate cores being very scarce. The possibilities of a new room temperature surface active ionic liquid, 1-decyl-3-methylimidazolium triflate,for this application were analyzed. It was shown that it is able to drastically reduce the water/oil interfacial tension. An optimized formulation was proposed for carbonate reservoirs. After secondary flooding with brine, an additional recovery of 10.5% of original oil in place was achieved at room conditions. A combination of the proposed method followed by a polymer flooding step with polyacrylamide led to a lesser but still significant recovery, reducing the costs associated to the ionic liquid.

Scalable Distributed Optimization Combining Conic Projection and Linear Programming for Energy Community Scheduling

In this paper, a new method to address the scheduling problem of a renewable energy community while considering network constraints and users' privacy preservation is proposed. The method decouples the optimization solution into two interacting procedures: conic projection(CP) and linear programming(LP) optimization. A new optimal CP method is proposed based on local computations and on the calculation of the roots of a fourth-order polynomial for which a closed-form solution is known. Computational tests conducted on both 14-bus and 84-bus distribution networks demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in obtaining the same quality of solutions compared with that by a centralized solver. The proposed method is scalable and has features that can be implemented on microcontrollers since both LP and CP procedures require only simple matrix-vector multiplications.
