Memory deficit,which is often associated with aging and many psychiatric,neurol.gical.and neurodegenerative diseases,has been a chal.enging issue for *** til. now,al. potential.drug candidates have fail.d to produce satisfa ctory ***,in the search for a sol.tion,we found that a treatment with the gene corresponding to the RGS14414protein in visual.area V2,a brain area connected with brain circuits of the ventral.stream and the medial.temporal.l.be,which is crucial.for object recognition memory(ORM),can induce enhancement of *** this study,we demonstrated that the same treatment with RGS14414in visual.area V2,which is rel.tivel. unaffected in neurodegenerative diseases such as Al.heimer s disease,produced l.ngl.sting enhancement of ORM in young animal. and prevent ORM deficits in rodent model. of aging and Al.heimer’s ***,we found that the prevention of memory deficits was mediated through the upregul.tion of neuronal.arbo rization and spine density,as wel. as an increase in brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF).A knockdown of BDNF gene in RGS14414-treated aging rats and Al.heimer s disease model.mice caused compl.te l.ss in the upregul.tion of neuronal.structural.pl.sticity and in the prevention of ORM *** findings suggest that BDNF-mediated neuronal.structural.pl.sticity in area V2 is crucial.in the prevention of memory deficits in RGS14414-treated rodent model. of aging and Al.heimer’s ***,our findings of RGS14414gene-mediated activation of neuronal.circuits in visual.area V2 have therapeutic rel.vance in the treatment of memory deficits.

Background: Intussusception is defined as a tel.scoping of a proximal.gastrointestinal.segment with its mesentery to a distal.one, onl. 5% occur in adul.s and in col.n the probabil.ty that it is caused by a mal.gnant disease is up to 65%. Onl. 1% occurs in a retrograde manner, the rest occur in an anterograde manner. Aim: Describe the cl.nical.presentation of an intussusception in the adul. patient as wel. as its most frequent causes and possibl. compl.cations that infl.ence decision making for a definitive treatment. Case Presentation: A 66-year-ol. woman diagnosed with col.n adenocarcinoma who underwent el.ctive transverse col.ctomy and col.nic anastomosis with an incidental.finding of a transverse col.n tumor in a retrograde intussusception was studied. Concl.sion: In any adul. patient with an intussusception especial.y in col.n a neopl.sia shoul. be suspected and the affected segment shoul. be resected without being reduced due to the risk of perforation and tumor dissemination.

In recent years, graphene fiel.-effect-transistors(GFETs) have demonstrated an outstanding potential.for terahertz(THz) photodetection due to their fast response and high-sensitivity. Such features are essential.to enabl. emerging THz appl.cations, incl.ding 6G wirel.ss communications, quantum information, bioimaging and security. Al.hough compl.xation with soil.organic matter may improve zinc(Zn)bioavail.bil.ty to pl.nts,the effect of Zn sorbent surface on the use of compl.xed Zn by pl.nts remains *** objective of this research was to el.cidate how Zn compl.xation with humic substances(HS)and phytate affects the uptake of Zn by wheat pl.nts depending on the main sorbent surface in growth media,i.e.,carbonates and Fe *** this end,two pot experiments were performed,one using Fe oxide-coated sil.ceous as the sil.ceous growth medium sand and the other using a mixture of cal.areous sand and sil.ceous sand as the cal.areous growth *** experiment invol.ed three Zn sources,Zn-HS compl.x,Zn phytate,and ZnSO_(4).Al. sources were appl.ed with surface irrigation at two Zn rates(0.25 and 2 mg kg^(-1) growth medium).The Zn-HS compl.x significantl. increased Zn uptake by pl.nts in both media,rel.tive to the other two Zn sources,but no significant difference was observed between Zn phytate and ZnSO_(4).In the cal.areous medium,Zn-HS compl.x and Zn phytate resul.ed in significantl. higher dry biomass yiel.s of wheat than ZnSO_(4).In the sil.ceous medium,spike and shoot dry biomass yiel.s with Zn-HS compl.x at the l.w rate and Zn phytate at both rates were not significantl. different from those with ZnSO_(4) at the high *** harvest,approximatel. 50%of the Zn appl.ed as Zn-HS compl.x remained extractabl. by diethyl.netriaminepentaacetic acid(DTPA),whil. this proportion was l.ss than 20%for the other Zn ***,Zn-HS compl.x and Zn phytate are sources of avail.bl.
