A new bismuth-based halide double perovskite Cs_(2)KBiCl_(6) was isolated successfully through solid-state reactions and investigated using X-ray and neutron diffraction.Rather than an ordered structure,the crystal structure consists of shifted Cs,K,Bi,and Cl sites from the ideal positions with fractional occupancy in compensation,leading to variable local coordination of Cs^(+)ions,as revealed by^(133)Cs solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.Cs_(2)KBiCl_(6) displays volume hysteresis at 5-298 K range upon heating and cooling.The Cs_(2)KBiCl_(6) has a direct bandgap of 3.35(2)eV and red-shift luminescence of around 600 nm upon Mn doping compared with the Na analogue.The stabilization of disordered structure in Cs_(2)KBiCl_(6) is related to two factors including the large-sized K^(+)cation which prefers to coordinate with more than six Cl^(-),and the Bi^(3+)with 6s^(2) lone pair which has a preference for a local asymmetric environment.These findings could have general application and help to understand the structure and property of halide perovskites.

Effects of Sterilization Treatments on the Compositions and Functions of Microflora on Duck Eggshell Inner and Outer Surfaces

The effects of sterilization treatments on the microbial compositions on both the inner and outer surfaces of duck eggshells and the ratio of black to yellow salted egg yolks were investigated in this study. Duck eggs were fumigated and cleaned with different fumigants and cleaning agents, and then stored at different temperatures. Changes in the total number of bacteria on duck eggshell inner and outer surfaces before and after treatments were subsequently compared. The effects of sterilization on the microflora on duck eggshell outer surfaces were evaluated using 16S rRNA gene sequencing and PICRUSt gene function prediction. Salted duck eggs were prepared using the mud-packing method at 35 ℃, and the ratio of black to yellow salted egg yolks was calculated. The results show that fumigation significantly inhibits the migration of bacterial colonies from the outer to inner surfaces of the eggshells, effectively controlling the total number of bacteria inside the shell. Two fumigation treatments increase efficacy relative to one. Total bacteria on the outer surface can be reduced to below the detection limit by cleaning. Low-temperature storage can limit bacterial proliferation on both inner and outer eggshell surfaces over 7 days. Total bacteria numbers on both inner and outer surfaces can be significantly reduced by combining fumigation, cleaning, and low-temperature storage. These processes also inhibit bacterial migration, tightly controlling the total bacteria inside the eggshell. 16S rRNA gene sequencing demonstrates a notable reduction in the proportion of Proteobacteria and Psychrobacter on the outer surface of the shell following sterilization treatments. Additionally, PICRUSt gene function prediction indicates a significant decrease in microbial activity within pathways associated with lipid oxidation, amino acid transport, and metabolism after sterilization treatments. BACKGROUND The prognostic value of the Systemic Inflammation Response Index(SIRI)in advanced pancreatic cancer is recognized,but its correlation with patients´nutritional status and outcomes remains unexplored.AIM To study the prognostic significance of SIRI and weight loss in metastatic pancreatic cancer.METHODS The PANTHEIA-Spanish Society of Medical Oncology(SEOM)study is a multicentric(16 Spanish hospitals),observational,longitudinal,non-interventional initiative,promoted by the SEOM Real World-Evidence work group.This pilot study sought to analyze the association between weight loss and inflammatory status as defined by SIRI.The cohort stems from a proof-of-concept pilot study conducted at one of the coordinating centers.Patients with pathologically confirmed metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma,treated from j.nuary 2020 to j.nuary 2023,were included.The index was calculated using the product of neutrophil and monocyte counts,divided by lymphocyte counts,obtained within 15 days before initiation chemotherapy.This study evaluated associations between overall survival(OS),SIRI and weight loss.RESULTS A total of 50 patients were included.66%of these patients were male and the median age was 66 years.Metastasis sites:36%liver,12%peritoneal carcinomatosis,10%lung,and 42%multiple locations.Regarding the first line palliative chemotherapy treatments:50%received gemcitabine plus nab-paclitaxel;28%,modified fluorouracil,leucovorin,irinotecan and oxaliplatin,and 16%were administered gemcitabine.42%had a weight loss>5%in the three months(mo)preceding diagnosis.21 patients with a SIRI≥2.3×10^(3)/L exhibited a trend towards a lower median OS compared to those with a SIRI5%weight loss before diagnosis,the median OS was 6 mo,in contrast to 19 mo for those who did not experience such weight loss(P=0.003).Patients with a weight loss>5%showed higher SIRI levels.This difference was statistically significant(P<0.000).For patients with a SIRI<2.3×10^(3)/L,those who did not

Coke behavior with H_(2)O in a hydrogen-enriched blast furnace:A review

Hydrogen-enriched blast furnace ironmaking has become an essential route to reduce CO_(2)emissions in the ironmaking process.However,hydrogen-enriched reduction produces large amounts of H_(2)O,which places new demands on coke quality in a blast furnace.In a hydrogen-rich blast furnace,the presence of H_(2)O promotes the solution loss reaction.This result improves the reactivity of coke,which is 20%-30%higher in a pure H_(2)O atmosphere than in a pure CO_(2)atmosphere.The activation energy range is 110-300 kj.mol between coke and CO_(2)and 80-170 kj.mol between coke and H_(2)O.CO_(2)and H_(2)O are shown to have different effects on coke degradation mechanisms.This review provides a comprehensive overview of the effect of H_(2)O on the structure and properties of coke.By exploring the interactions between H_(2)O and coke,several unresolved issues in the field requiring further research were identified.This review aims to provide valuable insights into coke behavior in hydrogen-rich environments and promote the further development of hydrogen-rich blast furnace ironmaking processes.

Effects of High-Definition Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation on Excitability of Spinal Motoneurons under Ankle Dorsi-Plantarflexion Fatigue Task

Obj.ctive To investigate the effects of high-definition transcranial direct current stimulation (HD-tDCS) on the modulation of the H-reflex and M-wave during ankle dorsiflexion-plantar flexion fatigue tasks to provide direction for the application of HD-tDCS in mitigating neuromuscular fatigue. Methods Twenty healthy young male participants were recruited and randomly assigned to either the real stimulation or sham stimulation group, with 10 participants in each group. The intervention consisted of a 5-day single-blind HD-tDCS application (duration: 20 min; intensity: 2 mA; target: Cz) . Baseline measurements of the H-reflex and M-wave under resting conditions, M-wave during maximal voluntary isometric contraction (MVIC) of the dorsiflexor muscle, and MVIC torque of the dorsiflexor and plantar flexor muscles were obtained. An ankle dorsiflexion fatigue task was performed to determine the time to achieve fatigue for the task. The same fatigue task was repeated and evaluated one day after the intervention. A repeated-measures two-factor (stimulation condition × pre / post fatigue) analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to analyze the effects of independent variables on the mechanical properties of the muscles and α-motoneuron conduction characteristics. Neuroinmunological response in HIV-associated Guillain-Barre syndrome: A case report

Introduction: Human immunodeficiency virus infec- tion is associated with several different types of peripheral neuropathy: distal predominantly sensory axonal polyneuropathy, like Guillain Barre syndrome. Case presentation: A 55-year-old Caucasian woman with Human immunodeficiency virus infection, diag- nosed with Guillain Barre syndrome was studied. Serum and CSF immunoglobulin G and Albumin levels were quantified by using an immunodiffusion technique. She had preceding viral symptoms. The clinical diagnosis of the illness in this patient was pa-resthesias or sensory loss, tendon reflexes. It was also observed cranial nerves abnormalities, acute mo- tor and sensory axonal neuropathy and ophthalmoplegia. The mean CD4 count was 367/mm3, CSF white blood cell 25 wbc/mm3. The serum sodium concentration was significantly low (133 mmol/L). She had a respiratory compromise as a result of their neuropa- thy and developed congestive heart failure and hy- potension and died of a cardiac arrest. The neuro-immunological response described by our patient was a blood/CSF barrier dysfunction without IgG intra-thecal synthesis. Conclusion: There is no doubt that this study is of great importance because will help clinicians increase their knowledge of the immune response in patients with this autoimmune disorder on the basis of this case report, in which, for first time, could be seen the neuroimmunological response through the reibergram in a patient with HIV- asso-ciated Guillain-Barre syndrome.

Error field penetration in j.TEXT tokamak based on two-fluid drift-MHD model

An externally generated resonant magnetic perturbation can induce complex non-ideal MHD responses in their resonant surfaces.We have studied the plasma responses using Fitzpatrick's improved two-fluid model and program LAYER.We calculated the error field penetration threshold for j.TEXT.In addition,we find that the island width increases slightly as the error field amplitude increases when the error field amplitude is below the critical penetration value.However,the island width suddenly j.mps to a large value because the shielding effect of the plasma against the error field disappears after the penetration.By scanning the natural mode frequency,we find that the shielding effect of the plasma decreases as the natural mode frequency decreases.Finally,we obtain the m/n=2/1 penetration threshold scaling on density and temperature.

Analysis of the Effects of Ethanol Extracts from Cichorium glandulosum on the Intestinal Flora of db/db Mice Based on High-throughput Sequencing

The effects of ethanol extracts obtained from Cichorium glandulosum on the intestinal microbiota of diabetic mice (db/db mice) were investigated. In this study, m/m mice served as the normal control group (CON group), while db/db mice were randomly divided into the model group (MOD group), metformin-treated group (MET group), low-dose ethanol extract-treated group (CGL group), and high-dose ethanol extract-treated group (CGH group). After intragastric administration of ethanol extracts from Cichorium glandulosum for eight weeks, the body weight, fasting blood glucose levels, liver total cholesterol (TC) levels, and liver triglyceride (TG) content in mice were analyzed. Additionally, 16S rRNA sequencing analysis was performed on fecal samples of mice to investigate the changes in their intestinal microbiota after the treatment. It was discovered that the high-dose ethanol extract can regulate the body weight and blood glucose levels of db/db mice and significantly reduce the levels of TC and TG in db/db mice (Pj.ang as a medicinal resource. © 2024 South China University of Technology. Aerosol deposition(AD)method is a kind of additive manufacturing technology for fabricating dense films such as metals and ceramics at room temperature.It resolves the challenge of integrating ceramic films onto temperaturesensitive substrates,including metals,glasses,and polymers.It should be emphasized that the AD is a spray coating technology that uses powder without thermal assistance to generate films with high density.Compared to the traditional sputter-based approach,the AD shows several advantages in efficiency,convenience,better interfacial bonding and so on.Therefore,it opens some possibilities to the field of batteries,especially all-solidstate batteries(ASSBs)and draws much attention not only for research but also for large scale applications.The purpose of this work is to provide a critical review on the science and technology of AD as well as its applications in the field of batteries.The process,mechanism and effective parameters of AD,and recent developments in AD applications in the field of batteries will be systematically reviewed so that a trend for AD will be finally provided.
