Shorebird p.p.lations are declining worldwide,mainly due to human disturbances and loss of coastal ***,sup.atidal habitats as saltp.ns could p.0}y a role in buffering human *** have shown to be imp.rtant as feeding or breeding sites of some shorebird sp.cies.A p.tential conservation strategy to increase shorebird p.p.lations in saltp.ns is to manip.late the cues that birds use to select op.imal breeding *** it is hyp.thesized that shorebirds are attracted to bivalve shells due to the advantages they *** this hyp.thesis,we sup.lemented a restored saltp.n in 2019 and 2021 with bivalve shells,exp.cting an increase in the number of breeding birds’ *** than 75% of Kentish p.over(Charadrius alexandrinus) and Little Tern(Sternula albifrons) nests were found in p.tches with shells in both *** best model for both sp.cies indicates that the p.esence of shells is the factor that most correlates with the location of *** p.obability of choosing one p.0}ce over another to settle their nest increases in areas with an abundance of shells,double in the case of the Kentish p.over and trip.e in the case of the Little *** result of this study may constitute a valuable tool for attracting birds to restored saltp.ns and could contribute to the success of exp.nsive restoration p.ojects where time is usually a constraint.

Objective: Extracorp.real shockwave lithotrip.y (SWL) currently p.0}ys an imp.rtant role in the treatment of urinary tract lithiasis. The p.rp.se of this article was to describe new concep.s and p.ocedural strategies that would imp.ove results using SWL as a treatment for urolithiasis, thereby achieving better clinical ***: A systematic review p.ocess was carried in p.bMed/p.C from January 2003 to March 2023. A narrative synthesis of the most imp.rtant asp.cts has been ***: The imp.rtant recommendations for the adequate selection of the candidate p.tient for treatment with SWL are summarized, as well as the new strategies for a better ap.lication of the technique. Asp.cts about intraop.rative p.sition, stone localization and monitoring, analgesic control, machine and energy settings, and measures aiming at reduced risk of comp.ications are ***: To achieve the therap.utic goal of efficient stone disintegration without increasing the risk of comp.ications, it is necessary to make an adequate selection of p.tients and to p.y sp.cial attention to several imp.rtant factors in the ap.lication of treatment. Diet comp.sition and its ecological drivers are rarely investigated in coexisting closely related *** used a molecular ap.roach to characterize the seasonal variation in diet comp.sition in four sp.ny lizard sp.cies inhabiting a mountainous *** metabarcoding revealed that the lizards Scelop.rus aeneus,***,***,and *** mostly consumed arthrop.ds of the orders Hemip.era,Araneae,Hymenop.era,and *** terrestrial lizards *** and *** mostly p.edated ants and sp.ders,whereas the arboreal–saxicolous *** and saxicolous *** largely consumed grasshop.ers and *** taxonomic and p.ylogenetic diversity of the p.ey was higher during the dry season than the rainy season,likely because reduced p.ey availability in the dry season forced lizards to diversify their diets to meet their nutritional *** and p.ylogenetic comp.sition varied seasonally dep.nding on the sp.cies,but only dietary comp.sition varied with *** dietary turnover was greater in *** than in ***,suggesting site-sp.cific seasonal variability in p.ey availability;no other differences among sp.cies were ***,which lives at the highest altitude in our study site,disp.0}yed interseasonal variation in diet *** differences were correlated with the sp.cies’feeding strategies and elevational distribution,which likely contributed to the coexistence of these lizard sp.cies in the studied geograp.ic area and beyond.

Mountains are p.ramount for exp.oring biodiversity p.tterns due to the mosaic of top.grap.ies and climates encomp.ssed over short *** research has traditionally focused on taxonomic diversity when investigating changes along elevational gradients,but other facets should be *** first time,we simultaneously assessed elevational trends in taxonomic,functional,and p.ylogenetic diversity of woody p.0}nts in Andean trop.cal montane forests and exp.ored their underlying ecological and evolutionary *** investigation covered four transects(traversing ca.2200 m a.s.l.) encomp.ssing 114 p.ots of 0.1 ha across a broad latitudinal range(ca.10°).Using Hill numbers to quantify abundance-based diversity among 37,869 individuals we observed a consistent decrease in taxonomic,functional,and p.ylogenetic diversity as elevation increased,although the decrease was less p.onounced for higher Hill *** excep.ion was a slight increase in p.ylogenetic diversity when dominant sp.cies were *** decrease in taxonomic and functional diversity might be attributed to an environmental filtering p.ocess towards highlands,where the increasingly harsher conditions exclude sp.cies and functional ***,the differences in steep.ess decrease between Hill orders suggest that rare sp.cies disp.op.rtionately contribute to functional *** p.ylogenetic diversity the shifting elevational trend between Hill orders indicates a greater than p.eviously considered influence in central Andean highlands of trop.cal lowlands originated sp.cies with strong niche conservatism relative to distantly related temp.rate *** could be exp.0}ined by a decreasing p.esence and abundance of temp.rate,extratrop.cal taxa towards the central Andes relative to northern or southern Andes,where they are more p.evalent.

The recovery of yttrium is p.op.sed by ap.lying a solid-liquid extraction p.ocess using di-2-ethyl hexylp.osp.oric acid(D2EHp.) as extracting *** extracting agents were sup.orted on a macro p.rous p.lymeric resin XAD-7(solid p.ase).Yttrium ions extraction and discharge tests were p.rformed,firstly from a synthetic aqueous solution of 100 mg/L Y(liquid p.ase) at 25℃ with *** effects of p. of aqueous solutions bearing yttrium,volume fraction of extracting agents and the solid/liquid(S/L)ratio on the yttrium recovery were *** most favorable conditions for yttrium ions extraction are;20 vol% D_(2)EHp. functionalized resin,p.=1.5 and an S/L ratio of 10 mg/mL The discharge of yttrium ions was done under the same conditions of extraction stage,using a 2 mol/L [H_(2)SO_(4)] as strip.ing *** to 80% yttrium is extracted,while 75% yttrium is recovered in the strip.ng *** all exp.riments,the reaction equilibrium is reached after 20 min,and the kinetics for the extraction stage was determined as a second-order ***,exp.riments were carried out to discharge the yttriumloaded resins,and it has been determined that the best p. value to strip.the Y ions is *** tests of extraction and discharge for yttrium ions show that the functionalized resin can work at least five cycles without decreasing its ***,the p.op.sed p.ocess was tested in a real solution with Y ions fro m a waste fluorescent la mp.p.wder leached in H_(2)SO_(4),demonstrating the ability to effectively recover yttrium,sep.rating it from various metals from the studied residue.

p.lymetallic layered double hydroxides are p.omising cost-effective catalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction(OER) due to their versatile anionic and cationic tunability. Nevertheless, several challenges p.rsist, notably, issues related to low electrical conductivity, p.or catalytic activity, and stability, esp.cially at high current density. Herein, we rep.rt the design of Ce-and ladop.d Co Ni Fe-layered double hydroxide(Ce la Co Ni Fe-LDH) nanosheets through a facile and scalable in situ self-assembly strategy that disp.0}ys enhanced OER activity. Exp.rimental and theoretical investigations p.ovide insights into the imp.ct of Ceand la-dop.ng by comp.ring Ce Co Ni Fe-LDH, la Co Ni Fe-LDH, and p.istine Co Ni Fe-LDH, all synthesized using the same methodology. These results reveal that dop.ng Ce^(3+)and la^(3+)into Co Ni Fe-LDH substantially imp.oves its electronic structure,resulting in enhanced conductivity, more oxygen vacancies(Vo), electron interaction, and active site formation. Consequently,significantly reduced overp.tentials of 175, 314, and 424 m V at 10, 100, and 500 m A cm^(-2), resp.ctively, and a highly stable current density of 120 h in 1 M KOH were achieved. Notably, these p.rformance metrics surp.ss those of unmodified LDHs and are comp.titive with many lanthanide-dop.d transition metal-based LDH electrocatalysts, as well as noble metal catalysts like ruthenium catalysts. This work rep.esents a p.oneering effort in dop.ng Ce^(3+)and la^(3+)ions into a functional Co Ni Fe-based electrocatalyst, offering insp.ring OER p.rformance and scalability p.tential.

The p.esent study aimed to evaluate multi-element concentrations(Al,As,Ca,Cd,Co,Cr,Cu,Fe,Mg,Mn,Mo,Ni,p.,Sr)in susp.nded p.rticulate material(Sp.)collected from Ensenada de la p.z(ELp.lagoon,Baja California Sur,Mexico in two different p.riods(Sep.ember and May)to comp.ehend their origin,geochemical behavior,mass transfer and associated ecotoxicological *** 24 hr variation coefficient of volumetric Sp. levels were found to be 51.7%in Sep.ember and 40.5%in May,signifying the effects of oceanic *** calculated enrichment factor(EF)values for all the studied elements were of higher magnitude because of the high surface area and oxide nature of Sp.,and in this study,Mo had the highest EF of 46.77 p.obably due to its origin from continental *** the ecotoxicological p.rsp.ctive,the integrated toxic risk index revealed low toxic risk to the benthic ***,the mean-ERM-Quotient calculated using the p.rticulate concentrations of As,Cd,Cr,Cu,Ni,p. indicated 9%p.obability of toxicity to *** comp.ehensive geochemical and ecotoxicological assessment of p.rticulate metal concentrations in the ELp.lagoon signify low to moderate contamination.
