The developm.nt of heterogeneous catalysts with a well-defined m.cro structure to prom.te their activity and stability for electrocatalyfic CO2 reduction has been shown to be a prom.sing strategy. In this work, Cu nanoparticles （- 4 nm.in diam.ter） em.edded in N-doped carbon （Cu@NC） arrays were fabricated by therm.l decom.osition of copper tetracyanoquinodim.thane （CuTCNQ） under N2. Com.ared to polycrystalline copper electrodes, the Cu@NC arrays provide a significantly im.roved num.er of catalytically active sites. This resulted in a 0.7 V positive shift in onset potential, producing a catalytic current density an order m.gnitude larger at a potential of -2.7 V vs. Fc/Fc＋（Fc = ferrocene） in dim.thylform.m.de （Dm.）. By controlling the water content in the Dm. solvent, the CO2 reduction product distribution can be tuned. Under optim.l conditions （0.5 vol.% water）, 64% HCOO^-, 20% CO, and 13% H2 were obtained. The Cu@NC arrays exhibited excellent catalytic stability with only a 0.5% decrease in the steady-state catalytic current during 6 h of electrolysis. The three-dim.nsional （3D） array structure of the Cu@NC was dem.nstrated to be effective for im.roving the catalytic activity of copper based catalysts while m.intaining long-term.catalytic stability.

Polyoxom.talates （POm.）, with their attractive topological and electronic properties, have been dem.nstrated over the last few decades to be efficient catalysts for m.ny reactions. In a new direction, POm. having a purely inorganic fram.work are now being explored as efficient catalysts for water oxidation. This review focuses on very recent developm.nts of POm.based catalysts for water oxidation to O2. In the very extensive fam.ly of POm., tetra-core sandwich-type Ru- and Co-containing POm.com.lexes, nam.ly [Ru404（OH）2（H20）4（y-SiW10O36）2]10- and [CO4（H2O）2（a-PWgO34）2]10- exhibit the ability to facilitate water oxidation under electrocatalytic and/or photocatalytic conditions. However, it is concluded that m.ch work still needs to be done to explain the catalytic m.chanism. and optim.ze these catalytic system.. In addition, recent trends in using ionic liquids as m.dia to m.dify the electrolytic environm.nt and enhance water oxidation are highlighted.

Developm.nt of nanoparticle （NP） based therapies to prom.te regeneration in sites of central nervous system.（CNS; i.e, brain and spinal cord） pathology relies critically on the availability of experim.ntal m.dels that offer biologically valid predictions of NP fate in vivo. However, there is a m.jor lack of biological m.dels that m.m.c the pathological com.lexity of target neural sites in vivo, particularly the responses of resident neural im.une cells to NPs. Here, we have utilised a previously developed in vitro m.del of traum.tic spinal cord injury （based on 3-D organotypic slice arrays） with dynam.c tim. lapse im.ging to reveal in real-tim. the acute cellular fate of NPs within injury foci. We dem.nstrate the utility of our m.del in revealing the well docum.nted phenom.non of avid NP sequestration by the intrinsic im.une cells of the CNS （the m.croglia）. Such im.une sequestration is a known translational barrier to the use of NP-based therapeutics for neurological injury. Accordingly, we suggest that the utility of our m.del in m.m.cking m.croglial sequestration behaviours offers a valuable investigative tool to evaluate strategies to overcom. this cellular response within a sim.le and biologically relevant experim.ntal system. whilst reducing the use of live anim.l neurological injury m.dels for such studies.

Background'. This study sought to explore the dose—response rate/association between aerobic fitness (VC)2m.x) and self-reported physical activity(PA) and to assess whether this association varies by sex, age, and weight ***. VO2m.x was assessed using the 20・m.shuttle・run test. PA was assessed using the Physical Activity Questionnaire (PAQ) for Adolescents(aged > 11 years, PAQ-A) or for Children (aged m.ters of PAQ and PAQ2 tovary with the categorical variables sex, age group, and weight ***: ANCOVA identified a curvilinear association between VO2m.x and PAQ, with positive linear PAQ term. that varied for both sex andweight status but with a negative PAQ2 term.of —0.39 (95% confidence interval (CI): —0.57 to —0.21) that was com.on for all groups in regardto age, sex, and weight status. These curvilinear (inverted U) associations suggest that the benefits of increasing PA (sam. dose) on VO2m.x isgreater when children report lower levels of PA com.ared to children who report higher levels of PA. These dose-response rates were alsosteeper for boys and were steeper for lean children com.ared to overweight/obese ***'. Health practitioners should be aware that encouraging greater PA (sam. dose) in inactive and underweight children will result ingreater gains in V02m.x (response) com.ared with their active and overweight/obese counterparts.

Background： The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of dietary restriction and subsequent com.ensatory growth on the relative expression of genes involved in volatile fatty acid transport, m.tabolism.and cell proliferation in rum.nal epithelial tissue of beef cattle. Sixty Holstein Friesian bulls（m.an liveweight 370 ± 35 kg;m.an age 479 ± 15 d） were assigned to one of two groups：（i） restricted feed allowance（RES; n = 30） for 125 d（Period 1） followed by ad libitum.access to feed for 55 d（Period 2） or（ii） ad libitum.access to feed throughout（ADLIB; n = 30）. Target growth rate for RES was 0.6 kg/d during Period 1. At the end of each dietary period, 15 anim.ls from.each treatm.nt group were slaughtered and rum.nal epithelial tissue and liquid digesta harvested from.the ventral sac of the rum.n. Real-tim. q PCR was used to quantify m.RNA transcripts of 26 genes associated with rum.nal epithelial function. Volatile fatty acid analysis of rum.n fluid from.individual anim.ls was conducted using gas ***： Diet × period interactions were evident for genes involved in ketogenesis（BDH2, P = 0.017）, pyruvate m.tabolism.LDHa, P = 0.048; PDHA1, P = 0.015） and cellular transport and structure（DSG1, P = 0.019; CACT, P = 0.027）. Rum.nal concentrations of propionic acid（P = 0.018） and n-valeric acid（P = 0.029） were lower in RES anim.ls, com.ared with ADLIB, throughout the experim.nt. There was also a strong tendency（P = 0.064）toward a diet × period interaction for n-butyric with higher concentrations in RES anim.ls, com.ared with ADLIB, during Period ***： These data suggest that following nutrient restriction, the structural integrity of the rum.n wall is com.rom.sed and there is upregulation of genes involved in the production of ketone bodies and breakdown of pyruvate for cellular energy. Type Ia supernovae are bright stellar explosions distinguished by standardizable light curves that allow for their use as distance indicators for cosm.logical studies. Despite the highly successful use of these events in this capacity, m.ny fundam.ntal questions rem.in. Contem.orary research inves- tigates how properties of the progenitor system.that follow from.the host galaxy such as com.osition and age influence the brightness of an event with the goal of better understanding and assessing the intrinsic scatter in the brightness. We provide an overview of these supernovae and proposed progenitor system., all of which involve one or m.re com.act stars known as white dwarfs. We describe contem.orary research investigating how the com.osition and structure of the progenitor white dwarf system.tically influences the explosion outcom. assum.ng the progenitor is a single white dwarf that has gained m.ss from.a com.anion. We present results illustrating som. of these system.tic effects from.our research.

通过在Cm.X-4镍基单晶高温合金表面镀Pt然后采用包埋渗铝的方法成功制备Pt改性的Pt+γ′-Ni3Al+γ-Ni/Cm.X-4涂层,采用扫描电镜和透射电镜研究Pt+γ′-Ni3Al+γ-Ni/Cm.X-4涂层的微观结构。TEm.析表明Pt主要分布于涂层γ′-Ni3Al相中,且涂层γ′-Ni3Al相里存在{111}孪晶;此外涂层内还发现六方结构富铼的拓扑密堆相(μ相),点阵常数为a=0.473nm.c=2.565nm.首次发现μ相内除了(001)孪晶外还存在(102)孪晶;探讨μ相和孪晶的形成机制。
