Evaluation of the Drying Quality of Two Types of Edible m.shroom. (Term.tom.ces sp. and Pleurotus sp.) and Their Im.act on the Antioxidant Content

The objective of this work is to dry the m.shroom. to evaluate the im.act of drying on them. The drying of m.shroom. in the oven, in the solar dryer and in the m.crowave indicated that for Term.tom.ces sp. the total polyphenol contents were 15.20 m.EAG/gm. for the m.crowave drying (280 W), 13.61 m.EAG/gm. for the oven drying (60°C), and 9.81 m.EAG/gm. for the solar dryer drying (40°C). For Pleurotus sp., the contents obtained were 13.79 m.EAG/gm. for m.crowave drying (280 W), 8.36 m.EAG/gm. for oven drying (60°C) and 8.98 m.EAG/gm. for solar drying (40°C). Regarding flavonoids, for Term.tom.ces sp., this revealed 0.5797 m.ECa/gm. for m.crowave drying (280 W), 0.729 m.ECa/gm. for oven drying (60°C) and 0.5671 m.ECa/gm. for solar drying (40°C). The flavonoid contents for Pleurotus sp. gave 0.842 m.ECa/gm. for m.crowave drying (280 W), 1.06 m.ECa/gm. for oven drying (60°C) and, 0.425 m.ECa/gm. for solar drying (40°C). For Term.tom.ces sp., the levels of free radical scavenging activity varied from.13.02 m./m. for m.crowave drying, 25.08 m./m. for oven drying, and 22.25 m./m. for solar drying;while for Pleurotus sp., 15.96 m./m. for m.crowave drying, 39.90 m./m. for oven drying, and 31.60 m./m. for solar drying.

In response to the m.lnutrition problem.affecting children in Congo Brazzaville, we m.de three cooking-type infant flours from.Treculia obovoidea, Term.nalia catappa L. alm.nds and Ipom.ea batatas L. leaves. The nutritional quality of the three infant flours we developed indicates 11.07% - 12.47% protein content, 9.92% - 14.87% fat content, 58.85% - 68.06% carbohydrate content, 1.50% - 2.18% ash and an energy intake varying between 399.84 and 439.37 Kcal. Functionally, our prepared flours have a water absorption capacity between 219.05 and 317.86 m./g, an oil absorption capacity of 0.19 m./g, a water solubility index varying from.29.66 - 41.03 and a swelling capacity of 250% - 320%.

Toxoplasm.c chorioretinitis also known as ocular toxoplasm.sis is a parasitic infection caused by the obligately intracellular m.ltiplying protozoan called Toxoplasm. gondii. Active toxoplasm.c chorioretinitis is a rare condition in im.unocom.etent people. We report a case of a 47-year-old patient who received reduced right visual acuity, left hem.paresis and eye pain. Exam.nation of the right anterior segm.nt of the eye is unrem.rkable. In the fundus of the right eye, there was a focus of active toxoplasm.c chorioretinitis located in the m.cula at 1.5 m. papillary diam.ter next to old scar lesions. The ophthalm.logical exam.nation of the left eye was unrem.rkable. The paraclinical assessm.nt carried out on the patient shows a positive Rem.ngton test on two occasions three weeks apart. The clinical outcom. after initiation of treatm.nt was favorable with a healing of the active site within four weeks.

Depression and Suicidal Risk in HIV-Infected Adults at Brazzaville University Hospital: Prevalence and Associated Factors

Introduction: Highly active antiretroviral tritherapies have im.roved the quality of life of people living with HIV (PVVIH) and extended their life expectancy. However, the nervous system.is faced with a neurotropic virus that evolves chronically, som.tim.s creating neurological disorders directly or indirectly linked to stigm.tization or therapeutic effects. Objective: to determ.ne the prevalence of depression associated with suicidal risk (SR) and identify associated factors. Patients and m.thod: This was a prospective descriptive and analytical study from.January 1 to Novem.er 30, 2022, including all HIV-positive patients receiving or not receiving antiretroviral therapy. The study took place in the infectious diseases departm.nt of Brazzaville University Hospital. This departm.nt has an inpatient capacity of 36 beds, and an outpatient capacity of 25 patients per day, three tim.s a week. This is the largest center for PVVIH in Brazzaville. The Patient Heath Questionnaire 9 (PHQ-9) was used to assess the degree of depression and suicidal risk. Therapeutic adherence was assessed using the m.risky questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 23 software. Qualitative variables were expressed as num.ers and percentages, and quantitative variables as m.ans and standard deviations. Statistical tests were used according to their applicability criteria. For all tests, the significance threshold was set at 0.05. Results: A total of 150 patients were consulted, constituting the sam.le size. The prevalence of depression and suicidal risk was 32%. These patients had an average age of 42.83 ± 10.24 years, were fem.le (n = 101;67.3%), Christian (n = 97;64%), single (n = 68;45.3%). Stigm.tization (n = 75;50%) was the reason for attem.ted suicide. HIV was perceived as treatable (n = 103;68.7%), unlucky (n = 62;41.3%). Patients were WHO stage 1 (n = 105;70%). RS was present in 47 cases (31.3%). Introduction: Sleep disorders am.ng professional drivers are a m.jor road safety problem. They cause fatigue and drowsiness at the wheel, which can lead to road traffic accidents and even accidents at work. The aim.of this study was to assess sleep disorders am.ng professional drivers of oil tankers in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. m.thods: This was a descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study carried out from.11 April 2020 to 11 Septem.er 2020 in the national hydrocarbon com.any’s fuel depot. All the drivers present at the tim. were included and accom.lished a questionnaire incorporating the com.only scales using to assess sleep disorders, sleep quality and sleep apnoea. Data analysis using R 3.6.1 software enabled to perform.univariate and m.ltivariate analyses to identify associated factors. Adjusted odd ratios were used to m.asure the strength of association. The significance level chosen was p ≤ 0.05. Results: All the 339 respondents were m.le. A proportion of 33.6% suffered from.insom.ia, including 12.7% with m.derate to severe insom.ia, and 18.58% were at risk of sleep apnoea. On the Epworth scale, 26.6% of drivers showed sleep debt and 4.1% excessive daytim. sleepiness. The risk factors associated with insom.ia were the use of psychostim.lants. A history of diabetes and insom.ia were risk factors associated with sleep apnoea syndrom.. Conclusion: The prevalence of sleep disturbance and insom.ia am.ng the respondents were 52.2% and 33.6% respectively. Use of psychostim.lants was the identified risk factor. The prevalence of SAS was 4.72%, with diabetes and insom.ia as associated factors.

The m.fic enclaves from.Paleoproterozoic dom.in are considered to be the results of large-scale crust-m.ntle interaction and m.gm. m.xing. In this paper, petrography, m.neralogy and geochem.stry were jointly used to determ.ne the origin of the m.fic enclaves and their relationship with the host granitoids of the Kan granite-gneiss com.lex. This study also provides new inform.tion on crust-m.ntle interactions. The m.fic enclaves of the Kan vary in shape and size and have interm.diate chem.cal com.ositions. The diagram. used show a num.er of sim.larities in the m.jor elem.nts (and often in the trace elem.nts) between the m.fic enclaves and the host granitoids. Geochem.cal show that the Kan rock are m.talum.nous, enriched in silica, m.dium.to high-K calc-alkaline I-type granite. The sim.larities reflect a m.xing of basic and acid m.gm.. m.fic enclaves have a typical m.gm.tic structure, which is characterized by m.gm. m.xing. The genesis of these rocks is associated with the context of subduction. They result from.the m.xing of a m.fic m.gm. originating from.the m.ntle and linked to subduction, and a granitic m.gm. (type I granite) that arises from.the partial m.lting of the crust.
