Effects of Dissipative terms on Dissipative Soliton Resonance Curve

Dissipative soliton resonance (DSR) is a phenomenon where the energy of a soliton in a dissipative system increases without limit at certain values of the system parameters. Using the method of collective variable approach, we have found an approximate relation between the parameters of the normalized complex cubic-quintic Ginzburg-Landau equation where the resonance manifests itself. Comparisons between the results obtained by collective variable approach, and those obtained by the method of moments show good qualitative agreement. this choice also helps to see the influence of the active terms on the resonance curve, so can be very useful in constructing passively mode-locked laser that generate solitons with the highest possible energies.

trong>Introduction:trong> thoracic and lumbar spine fracture, type C of MAGERL is one of the most biomechanically and neurologically unstable lesions, induced by significant damage to the bone, disk and ligament complex. trong>Materials and Methods: trong>We report two cases of thoracic and lumbar fracture, type C of MAGERL hospitalized in the Neurosurgery department of the Grand Yoff General Hospital in Dakar during a period from June 2014 to June 2017. trong>Observations:trong> 1st case: 44-year-old patient, referred from abroad because of multi systemic trauma related on road traffic accident. On physical examination sustained a thoracic spine trauma classified ASIA D. Body Ct scan showed t4 - t5 fracture-dislocation type C of MAGERL, multiple ribs fracture with a right slight haemothorax, a sternal, a left humerus and scapulas fracture. thoracic Posterior approach was done using laminar hooks. Clinical and anatomical results are good. 2nd case: 20-year-old patient, referred for thoraco-lumbar trauma because of occupational accident. the initial clinical examination classified it ASIA B. Ct scan investigation, demonstrated a L1-L2 fracture type C of MARGEL. thoraco lumbar spine posterior approach was done using pedicular screw fixation. two years after trauma the patient recovered completely from his paraplegia. trong>Conclusion: trong>thoracic and lumbar spine fractures, type C of MAGERL are compelling and instable fracture. Performing posterior instrumentation can achieve a good stabilization and reduction of the lesion.

ECG and Echocardiography Findings: A Comparative Study between Sportive and Sedentary Female Patients (Bamako, Mali)

Objective: to study cardiovascular cardiac and echocardiographic features in high-level footballers and sedentary women in Bamako. Materials and Methods: this was a cross-sectional study conducted in Bamako from April 2015 to March 2016 among 14 to 35 years old high-level footballers and a group of untrained women. Data including socio-demographic, physical examination, ECG record and echocardiogram was inserted in Microsoft Excel and analyzed with IBM SPSS. Chi Square and Fisher statistical tests were used to compare our results. the significance level was p 0.05. Results: Forty-three female subjects, 51% being sedentary were recruited. Mean age, weight and height were significantly higher in sportswomen than in sedentary women with respectively p of ts subjects in 28.6% and sedentary tachycardia in 18.2%. Left ventricular hypertrophy and dilatation and left atrial dilatation were predominant in sportswomen. Conclusion: Bradycardia, left ventricle hypertrophy and dilatation were found more in sportswomen. these changes acquired through physical training are aspects of cardiac adaptation that we found in our sample. Other aspects were not found probably due to the small size of the sample.

the study was conducted with the main objective to evaluate the genetic variability, heritability, and clustering pattern exploration of morphological and yield related traits in potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) collections in the bimodal rainfall agroecological zone of Cameroon using a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. the data obtained on morphological and yield traits were subjected to analysis of variance (ANOVA). the results showed that the viability rate of the collections varied from 77.78% to 96.55% respectively for the Maffo and Desiree collections, while the greatest number of tubers per plant varied from 4 to 18 respectively for Synergie and Desiree. the emergence rate varies from 60% to 1.66% respectively for Maffo et Doza collections. However, Desiree presents the highest tL (96.55) while Maffo shows the lowest value (77.78%). the yield per hectare varied from 1.14 to 9.3 t/h for Maffo and Doza respectively. For all the characteristics observed, Phenotypic Coefficients of Variation (PCV) were higher than Genotypic Coefficients of Variation (GCV) suggesting the role of environment in the expression of traits under observation. the highest GCV and PCV 47.55 and 58.94 respectively were observed for Diameter at the collar (DC). Most of the traits showed high GAM (>20%)) except Average tuber Length (AtL) with a moderate value (19.8). In terms of vegetative development, the Desiree variety showed the highest performance. Based on the growth and yield results, Doza seems to be the most recommendable crop in the study area.
