From Markers to Genome Based Breeding in Horticultural Crops: An Overview

Molecular markers,genome sequencing and genome editing are considered as efficient tools to accomplish demands of plant breeders for crop improvement *** and biochemical markers have not been extensively used as these are greatly influenced by environmental *** molecular markers and sequencing techniques are routinely used in evaluation of genetic diversity and evolutionary relationship,accurate classification or taxonomy,characterization of germplasm,identification of hybrids and phylogenetic *** and undesired traits controlled by genes can be identified through different molecular markers technology all over the *** molecular markers are well established and have successfully been used for genetic analysis of different plants during last two ***,advanced techniques of molecular markers have been developed,which provide advance genotypic platform and tends to merge valuable properties of many basic *** class of markers also includes little modifications in basic methods to enhance the sensitivity and ***,plant breeders and strong investment are strongly linked for crop improvement *** review provides detailed description of different markers,genome sequencing and genome editing that have been utilized for different genetic analyses of horticultural *** editing technologies based on CRISPR/Cas are now successfully applied in horticultural ***,current review encourages the use of molecular marker technology for DNA fingerprinting,bar coding,sequencing,re-sequencing QTL mapping,genome association mapping and genome *** is need of time that diverse germplasm should be identified with different molecular techniques and further utilized in breeding purposes to achieve higher yielding and resistant cultivars against biotic and abiotic stresses.

Effect of Graphene Nanoplatelets addition on mechanical properties of pure aluminum using a semi-powder method

In recent years, graphene has attracted considerable research interest in all fields of science due to its unique properties. Its excellent mechanical properties lead it to be used in nano-composites for strength enhancement. This paper reports an Aluminum–Graphene Nanoplatelets(Al/GNPs)composite using a semi-powder method followed by hot extrusion. The effect of GNP nano-particle integration on tensile, compressive and hardness response of Al is investigated in this paper. It is demonstrated that 0.3 wt% Graphene Nanoplatelets distributed homogeneously in the matrix aluminum act as an effective reinforcing filler to prevent deformation. Compared to monolithic aluminum(in tension), Al–0.3 wt% GNPs composite exhibited higher 0.2% yield strength(+14.7%), ultimate tensile strength(+11.1%) and lower failure strain( -40.6%). Surprisingly, compared to monolithic Al(in compression), Al–0.3 wt% GNPs composite exhibited same 0.2% compressive yield strength and lower ultimate compression strength(- 7.8%),and lower failure strain(- 20.2%). The Al–0.3 wt% GNPs composite exhibited higher Vickers hardness compared to monolithic aluminum(+11.8%).Scanning electron microscopy(SEM), Energy-Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy(EDS) and X-ray diffraction(XRD) were used to investigate the surface morphology, elemental percentage composition, and phase analysis, respectively.

Dementia is a comprehensive category of brain diseases that is great enough to affect a person＇s daily functioning. The most common type of dementia is Alzheimer＇s disease, which makes most of cases. New researches indicate that gastrointestinal tract microbiota are directly linked to dementia pathogenesis through triggering metabolic diseases and low-grade inflammation progress. A novel strategy is proposed for the management of these disorders and as an adjuvant for psychiatric treatment of dementia and other related diseases through modulation of the microbiota （e.g. with the use of probiotics）.

Coating of graphene and graphene/polymer composites on metals improves the corrosion resistance of metal *** other hand,graphene embedded inside metal(especially Mg)matrices increases or decreases corrosion,is a crucial factor and must be *** present study,electrochemical behaviors of magnesium alloys(AZ31 and AZ61)and their composites reinforced with graphene nanoplatelets(GNPs)were carried out in 3.5%NaCl solution by polarization *** surface morphology of composites before and after corrosion tests were analyzed using scanning electron *** results revealed that presence of graphene nanoplatelets in different matrices decrease corrosion resistance of *** may be attributed to presence of graphene nanoplatelets which activates the corrosion of magnesium/alloys due to the occurrence of galvanic corrosion and this effect increases with increasing graphene nanoplatelets ***,an appropriate model describing the corrosion mechanism was proposed.

Investigation on microstructural, mechanical and electrochemical properties of aluminum composites reinforced with graphene nanoplatelets

In present study,the microstructure,mechanical and electrochemical properties of aluminum-graphene nanoplatelets(GNPs) composites were investigated before and after *** contents of graphene nanoplatelets(GNPs) were varied from 0.25 to 1.0 wt.%in aluminum *** composites were fabricated thorough powder metallurgy method,and the experimental results revealed that Al-0.25%GNPs composite showed better mechanical properties compared with pure Al,Al-0.50%GNPs and Al-0.1.0%GNPs *** extrusion,the Al-0.25%GNPs composite showed13.5%improvement in ultimate tensile strength(UTS) and50%enhancement in failure strain over monolithic *** the other hand,Al-0.50%GNPs and Al-0.1.0%GNPs composites showed the tensile strength lower than monolithic *** significant change was observed in 0.2%yield strength(YS) of the ***,the extruded materials showed different ***0.2%YS of composites increased with increase in GNPs filler weight ***,UTS of composites with 0.25 and 0.50%GNPs was lower than monolithic *** failure strain of the baseline matrix was enhanced by46%with 0.25%graphene *** superior mechanical properties(in terms of failure strain) of the Al-0.25%GNPs composite maybe attributed to 2-D structure,high surface area and curled nature of *** addition,the corrosion resistance of pure Al and its composites reinforced with 0.5 and 1.0 wt%GNPs was also *** was found that the corrosion rate increased considerably by the presence of GNPs.

The present study concerns the modelization and numerical simulation for the heat and flow exchange characteristics in a novel configuration saturated with a nonNewtonian Ag-MgO hybrid *** wavy shaped enclosure is equipped with onequarter of a conducting solid *** system of equations resulting from the mathematical modeling of the physical problem in its dimensionless form is discretized via the higher-order Galerkin-based finite element method(GFEM).The dependency of various factors and their interrelationships affecting the hydro-thermal behavior and heat exchange rate are *** numerical experiments reveal that the best heat transfer rate is achieved for the pseudo-plastic hybrid nanoliquid with high Rayleigh number and thermal conductivity ratio and low Hartmann ***,the power-law index has a major effect in deteriorating the heat convection at high Rayleigh number.
