Background: One of the major challenges i. managi.g acute upper gastroi.testi.al bleedi.g i.volves the i.enti.i.ati.n of pati.nts who are at hi.h ri.k of rebleedi.g and death;conversely, the i.enti.i.ati.n of pati.nts who are sui.able for early di.charge and outpati.nt endoscopy i. also i.portant for effecti.e resource. The use of Rockall system has been shown to represent accurate and vali. predi.tor of rebleedi.g and death. The ai. of thi. prospecti.e study was to evaluate vali.i.y of Rockall score for predi.ti.n of rebleedi.g and mortali.y i. Egypti.n pati.nts wi.h upper gastroi.testi.al bleedi.g. Pati.nts and Methods: 50 pati.nts presented wi.h upper Gi.bleedi.g were subjected to detai.ed cli.i.al, laboratory, sonographi. and endoscopi. exami.ati.n together wi.h Rockall score calculati.n. Results: Accordi.g to the fi.di.gs of upper Gi.endoscopy pati.nts were further subdi.i.ed i.to two subgroups as follows: Group 1 (n = 32): Pati.nts wi.h portal hypertensi.n mani.ested by vari.eal bleedi.g and/or portal hypertensi.e gastropathy;and Group 2 (n = 18): other causes of acute upper gastroi.testi.al bleedi.g (pepti. ulcer di.ease, Mallory Wei.s syndrome…). Cli.i.al condi.i.n of the pati.nts was assessed after 48 hours and mortali.y was recorded. Rockall score was the hi.hest i. mortali.y group, and hi.her i. rebleedi.g group than stable group (P i.her i. Chi.d C than Chi.d B and Chi.d A among hepati. pati.nts (P i.ti.n of rebleedi.g wi.h sensi.i.i.y 100%, speci.i.i.y 53%, whi.e the cutoff value = 6.5 was the best for predi.ti.n of mortali.y wi.h sensi.i.i.y 100% and 93.5% speci.i.i.y. Conclusi.n: Rockall score i. cli.i.ally useful i. predi.ti.n of rebleedi.g and mortali.y i. pati.nts wi.h upper gastroi.testi.al bleedi.g. i. can accurately di.ferenti.te between pati.nts wi.h stable condi.i.n that could be di.charged from hospi.al and those who requi.e hospi.ali.ati.n and t

Muci. genes are the mai. component of mucus. The sea anemone speci.s, Aulacti.i. veratra (Phylum Cni.ari.) contai.s di.ferent types of muci. genes. i. the i.terti.al zone, A. veratra i. found to be exposed to ai. duri.g the low ti.e and produces large quanti.i.s of mucus as an external coveri.g. The relati.n between low ti.e and mucus secreti.n i. sti.l unclear, and what i. the role of muci. duri.g ari.l exposure i. not yet i.vesti.ated. Thi. study hypothesi.ed that the muci. genes i. A. veratra would have si.ni.i.antly hi.h expressi.n i. response to aeri.l exposure. Therefore, the ai. of current study was to exami.e and analyses the response of A. veratra muci.s i. response to an experi.ent i.volvi.g three hours of aeri.l exposure. To achi.ve thi., ai. the RNA-sequenci.g and bi.i.formati.s analyses were used to exami.e the expressi.n profi.e of A. veratra muci. genes i. response to aeri.l exposure. The generated results have shown that, Muci.4-li.e and muci.5B-li.e were up-regulated i. response to the three hours of aeri.l exposure i. A. veratra. Thi. fi.di.g shows a si.ni.i.ant role of muci.5B-li.e and muci.4-li.e genes i. response to ai. stress at low ti.e. The data generated from thi. study could be used i. conjuncti.n wi.h future muci. gene studi.s of sea anemones and other cni.ari.ns to compare A. veratra muci. gene expressi.n results across ti.e, and to extend our understandi.g of muci. stress response i. thi. phylum.
