The concepts of business continuity management,operational resilience,and organizational resilience each refer to actions that businesses and organizations can take in anticipating and responding to ***,the existing definitions and usages are difficult to differentiate due to overlapping objectives,implementation processes,and *** article examines definitions and approaches for these three concepts and suggest a framework to operationalize methods and tools relevant to *** definitions emphasize three dyads:risk versus resilience;organizational processes versus assets;and normal operating conditions versus crisis *** these dyads to differentiate the concepts of business continuity management,operational resilience,and organizational resilience can support planners in clarifying objectives and identifying which approach will be most beneficial as businesses or organizations plan for and encounter *** article evaluates these concepts by examining illustrative examples of disruptions and responses.

Background The pulsed introduction of dead plant and animal material into soils represents one of the primary mechanisms for returning organic carbon(C)and nitrogen(N)compounds to biogeochemical *** of animal carcasses provides a high C and N resource that stimulates indigenous environmental microbial communities and introduces non-indigenous,carcass-derived microbes to the ***,the dynamics of the coalesced microbial communities,and the relative contributions of environment-and carcass-derived microbes to C and N cycling are *** test whether environment-derived,carcass-derived,or the combined microbial communities exhibited a greater influence on C and N cycling,we conducted controlled laboratory experiments that combined carcass decomposition fluids and soils to simulate carcass decomposition *** selectively sterilized the decomposition fluid and/or soil to remove microbial communities and create different combinations of environment-and carcass-derived communities and incubated the treatments under three temperatures(10,20,and 30℃).Results Carcass-derived bacteria persisted in soils in our simulated decomposition scenarios,albeit at low *** communities had higher respiration rates at 10 and 30℃ compared to soil or carcass communities ***,at higher temperatures,mixed communities had reduced diversity,but higher respiration,suggesting functional *** communities treatments also provided evidence that carcass-associated microbes may be contributing to ammonification and denitrification,but that nitrification is still primarily carried out by native soil *** Our work yields insight into the dynamics of microbial communities that are coalescing during carcass decomposition,and how they contribute to recycling carcasses in terrestrial ecosystems.

Objective: Few studies to date have measured the real-time effects of consumption of common and commercially available Cannabis products for the treatment of headache and migraine under naturalistic conditions. This study examines, for the first time, the effectiveness of using dried Cannabis flower, the most widely used type of Cannabis product in the United States, in actual time for treatment of headache-and migraine-related pain and the associations between different product characteristics and changes in symptom intensity following Cannabis ***: Between 06/10/2016 and 02/12/2019, 699 people used the Releaf Application to record realtime details of their Cannabis use, including product characteristics and symptom intensity levels prior to and following self-administration;data included 1910 session-level attempts to treat headache-(1328 sessions) or migraine-related pain(582 sessions). Changes in headache-or migraine-related pain intensity were measured on a 0–10 scale prior to, and immediately, following Cannabis ***: Ninety-four percent of users experienced symptom relief within a two-hour observation window. The average symptom intensity reduction was 3.3 points on a 0–10 scale(standard deviation = 2.28,Cohen's d = 1.58), with males experiencing greater relief than females(P mixed effects regression models showed that, among the known(i.e., labeled) product characteristics, tetrahydrocannabinol levels 10% and higher are the strongest independent predictors of symptom relief, and this effect is particularly prominent in headache rather than migraine sufferers(P males(P males and younger users also appear to gain greater symptom relief from flower labeled as ‘‘C. indica" rather than ‘‘C. sativa" or other hybrid ***: These results suggest that whole dried Cannabis flowe

Genomic sequencing,bioinformatics,and initial speciation(e.g.,relative abundance)of the commensal microbiome have revolutionized the way we think about the“human”body in health and *** interactions between the gut bacteria and the immune system of the host play a key role in the pathogenesis of gastrointestinal diseases,including those impacting the *** relatively stable,there are a number of factors that may disrupt the delicate balance between the luminal esophageal microbiome(Em)and the *** changes are thought to be a product of age,diet,antibiotic and other medication use,oral hygiene,smoking,and/or expression of antibiotic products(bacteriocins)by other *** effects may lead to persistent dysbiosis which in turn increases the risk of local inflammation,systemic inflammation,and ultimately disease *** has suggested that the etiology of gastroesophageal reflux disease-related esophagitis includes a cytokine-mediated inflammatory component and is,therefore,not merely the result of esophageal mucosal exposure to corrosives(i.e.,acid).Emerging evidence also suggests that the Em plays a major role in the pathogenesis of disease by inciting an immunogenic response which ultimately propagates the inflammatory ***,we discuss the potential role for manipulating the Em as a therapeutic option for treating the root cause of various esophageal disease rather than just providing symptomatic relief(i.e.,acid suppression).

AIm： TO assess whether polymorphisms in NOD2 and ATG16L1 affect cytokine responses and mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis （mAP） survival in monocytes from Crohn＇s disease （CD） patients mETHODS： monocytes were isolated from peripheral blood of CD patients of known genotype for common single nucleotide polymorphisms of NOD2 and ATG16L1, monocytes were challenged with mAP and bacterial per- sistence assessed at subsequent time-points. Cytokine responses were assayed using a milliplex multi-analyte profiling assay for 13 cytokines. RESULTS： monooltes heterozygous for a NOD2 polymorphism （R702W, P268S, or 1007fs） were more permissive for growth of mAP （P = 0.045） than those without. There was no effect of NOD2 genotype on subsequent cytokine expression. The T300A polymorphism of ATG16L1 did not affect growth of mAP in our model （P = 0.175）, but did increase expression of cytokines interleukin （IL）-10 （P = 0.047） and IL-6 （P = 0.019）. CONCLUSION： CD-associated polymorphisms affected the eliminaUon of mAP from ex v/vo monooltes （NOD2）, or expression of certain oltokines （ATG16LI）, implying independent but contributory roles in the pathogenesis of CD.

Identifying the thresholds of drought that,if crossed,suppress vegetation functioning is vital for accurate quantification of how land ecosystems respond to climate variability and *** present a globally applicable framework to identify drought thresholds for vegetation responses to different levels of known soil-moisture deficits using four remotely sensed vegetation proxies spanning *** thresholds identified represent critical inflection points for changing vegetation responses from highly resistant to highly vulnerable in response to drought stress,and as a warning signal for substantial vegetation *** thresholds varied geographically,with much lower percentiles of soil-moisture anomalies in vegetated areas covered by more forests,corresponding to a comparably stronger capacity to mitigate soil water deficit stress in forested ***,those lower thresholds are detected in more humid ***-of-the-art land models,however,overestimated thresholds of soil moisture(*** drought impacts),especially in more humid areas with higher forest covers and arid areas with few forest *** on climate model projections,we predict that the risk of vegetation damage will increase by the end of the twenty-first century in some hotspots like East Asia,Europe,Amazon,southern Australia and eastern and southern *** data-based results will inform projections on future drought impacts on terrestrial ecosystems and provide an effective tool for drought management.

AIm To identify mi RNA-regulated proteins differentially expressed between Caco2 and HT-29: two principal cell line models of the *** Exponentially growing Caco-2 and HT-29 cells were harvested and prepared for m RNA, mi RNA and proteomic profiling. m RNA microarray profiling analysis was carried out using the Affymetrix Gene Chip Human Gene 1.0 ST array. mi RNA microarray profiling analysis was carried out using the Affymetrix Genechip mi RNA 3.0 array. Quantitative Label-free LC-mS/mS proteomic analysis was performed using a Dionex Ultimate 3000 RSLCnano system coupled to a hybrid linear iontrap/Orbitrap mass spectrometer. Peptide identities were validated in Proteome Discoverer 2.1 and were subsequently imported into Progenesis QI software for further analysis. Hierarchical cluster analysis for all three parallel datasets(mi RNA, proteomics, m RNA) was conducted in the R software environment using the Euclidean distance measure and Ward's clustering algorithm. The prediction of mi RNA and oppositely correlated protein/m RNA interactions was performed using Target Scan 6.1. GO biological process, molecular function and cellular component enrichment analysis was carried out for the DE mi RNA, protein and m RNA lists via the Pathway Studio 11.3 Web interface using their mammalian *** Differential expression(DE) profiling comparing the intestinal cell lines HT-29 and Caco-2 identified 1795 Genes, 168 Proteins and 160 mi RNAs as DE between the two cell lines. At the gene level, 1084 genes were upregulated and 711 were downregulated in the Caco-2 cell line relative to the HT-29 cell line. At the protein level, 57 proteins were found to be upregulated and 111 downregulated in the Caco-2 cell line relative to the HT-29 cell line. Finally, at the mi RNAs level, 104 were upregulated and 56 downregulated in the Caco-2 cell line relative to the HT-29 cell line. The density-functional theory is widely used to predict the physical properties of ***,it usually fails for strongly correlated materials.A popular solution is to use the Hubbard correction to treat strongly correlated electronic ***,the values of the Hubbard U and J parameters are initially unknown,and they can vary from one material to *** this semi-empirical study,we explore the U and J parameter space of a group of iron-based compounds to simultaneously improve the prediction of physical properties(volume,magnetic moment,and bandgap).We used a Bayesian calibration assisted by markov chain monte Carlo sampling for three different exchange-correlation functionals(LDA,PBE,and PBEsol).We found that LDA requires the largest U *** has the smallest standard deviation and its U and J parameters are the most transferable to other iron-based ***,PBE predicts lattice parameters reasonably well without the Hubbard correction.
