We consider a power system whose electric demand pertaining to freshwater production is high(high freshwater electric demand),as in the Middle East,and investigate the tradeoff of storing freshwater in tanks versus storing electricity in batteries at the day-ahead operation *** storing freshwater and storing electricity increase the actual electric demand at valley hours and decrease it at peak hours,which is generally beneficial in term of cost and ***,to what extent?We analyze this question considering three power systems with different generation-mix configurations,i.e.,a thermal-dominated mix,a renewable-dominated one,and a fully renewable *** generation-mix configurations are inspired by how power systems may evolve in different countries in the Middle *** production uncertainty is compactly modeled using chance *** draw conclusions on how both storage facilities(freshwater and electricity)complement each other to render an optimal operation of the power system.

The sessile drop method was applied to the experimental investigation of the wetting and spreading behaviors of liquid Mg drops on pure ni *** comparison,the experiments were performed in two variants:(1)using the Capillary purification(Cp)procedure,which allows the non-contact heating and squeezing of a pure oxide-free Mg drop;(2)by classical Contact Heating(CH)*** high-temperature tests were performed under isothermal conditions(Cp:760℃for 30 s;CH:715℃for 300 s)using Ar+5 wt%H_(2) *** the sessile drop tests,images of the Mg/ni couples were recorded by CCD cameras(57 fps),which were then applied to calculate the contact angles of metal/substrate *** and transmission electron microscopy analyses,both coupled with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy,were used for detailed structural characterization of the solidified *** was found that an oxide-free Mg drop obtained by the Cp procedure showed a wetting phenomenon on the ni substrate(an average contact angleθnllowed by fast spreading and good wetting over the ni substrate(θ_((Cp))~20°in 5 s)to form a final contact angle ofθ_(f(Cp))~18°.In contrast,a different wetting behavior was observed for the CH procedure,where the unavoidable primary oxide film on the Mg surface blocked the spreading of liquid Mg showing apparently non-wetting behavior after 300 s contact at the test ***,in both cases,the deep craters formed in the ni substrates under the Mg drops and significant change in the structure of initially pure Mg drops to Mg-ni alloys suggest a strong dissolution of ni in liquid Mg and apparent values of the final contact angles measured for the Mg/ni system.

The thiolliericrinids(Thiolliericrinidae) are comatulids(Comatulida),which retained their stalks as ***,we report a centrodorsal from the Bajocian strata(Middle jurassic) of the Djebel Kérdacha area,northwestern algeria(Africa).It is the first thiolliericrinid report from outside of Europe and also the oldest representative of the Thiolliericrinidae whose first occurrence is from the *** crinoid is assigned to Copernicrinus zamorae *** *** reported new taxon shows strong similarities with the stemless ‘true’comatulids,Solanocrinites;the only difference is the presence of a facet to the stem in *** closest comparable thiolliericrinid to Copernicrinus is the Oxfordian Thiolliericrinus,interpreted as a descendant of the *** origin and overview of all thiolliericrinid representatives are also discussed herein.

BACKGROUnD Morgagni hernia(MH)is a form of congenital diaphragmatic hernia(CDH)characterized by an incomplete formation of diaphragm,resulting in the protru-sion of abdominal organs into the thoracic *** estimated incidence of CDH is between 1 in 2000 and 1 in 5000 live births,although the true incidence is *** typically presents in childhood and can be diagnosed either pre-natally or ***,it can also be asymptomatic and carry the risk of developing into a life-threatening condition in *** SUMMARY A 76-year-old female with no history of prior abdominal surgeries presented for an elective colonoscopy for polyp *** the procedure,when approaching the hepatic flexure,the scope could not be advanced further despite multiple *** patient experienced mild abdominal discomfort,leading to the abortion of the *** in the recovery area,she developed increa-sing abdominal pains and *** abdominal imaging revealed her-niation of the proximal transverse colon through a MH into the chest with evi-dence of *** patient underwent laparoscopic urgent colonic resection and primary hernia repair and was discharged uneventfully 2 d *** A MH is a rare condition in adults that can present as a life-threatening compli-cation of colonoscopy,even in patients with a history of uneventful *** case highlights the importance of considering congenital and internal hernias when faced with sudden and unexplained difficulties during *** there is a suspicion of MH,the endoscopist should halt the procedure and immediately obtain abdominal imaging to confirm the diagnosis.

The ability to make accurate energy predictions while considering all related energy factors allows production plants,regulatory bodies,and governments to meet energy demand and assess the effects of energy-saving *** energy consumption falls within normal parameters,it will be possible to use the developed model to predict energy consumption and develop improvements and mitigating measures for energy *** objective of this model is to accurately predict energy consumption without data limitations and provide results that are easily *** proposed model is an implementation of the stacked long Short-Term Memory(lSTM)snapshot ensemble combined with the Fast Fourier Transform(FFT)and *** and Berard’s Individual Household Electric-power Consumption(IHEpC)dataset incorporated with weather data are used to analyse the model’s accuracy with predicting energy *** model is trained,and the results measured using Root Mean Square Error(RMSE),Mean Absolute Error(MAE),Mean Absolute percentage Error(MApE),and coefficient of determination(R^(2))metrics are 0.020,0.013,0.017,and 0.999,*** stacked lSTM snapshot ensemble performs better than the compared models based on prediction accuracy and minimized *** results of this study show that prediction accuracy is high,and the model’s stability is high as *** model shows that high levels of accuracy prove accurate predictive ability,and together with high levels of stability,the model has good interpretability,which is not typically accounted for in ***,this study shows that it can be inferred.

Significant advancements in single-junction inverted perovskite solar cells (pSCs) have led to power conversion efficiencies (pCEs) exceeding 25% [1]. However, their operational stability under strict conditions falls short compared with commercial solar panels, primarily due to the ion migration. This migration alters the chemical composition within the perovskite layer, increasing the heterogeneity and forming degradation sites [2]. Additionally, ion accumulation at metal interfaces corrodes electrodes, while metal diffusion into perovskite layers further compromises the stability, highlighting critical areas for the improvement in long-term device performance [3,4].

Background:The aim of the study was to evaluate the outcomes of dissatisfed patients reporting poor visual quality following implantation of multifocal intraocular lenses(MF-IOls),managed by IOl exchange with another multifocal optical ***:This is a retrospective series of ***-IOl exchange was done in 15 dissatisfed patients(30 eyes)with the perception of poor visual quality for far distance afected by neuroadaptation *** underwent a bilateral exchange of a MF-IOl with another MF-IOl of a diferent optical *** outcomes and complications were *** including Quality of Vision(QoV),Visual Function Index-14(VF-14)and its Rasch-revised version(VF-8R)and a satisfaction questionnaire were also used for outcome ***:The mean elapsed time from implantation to explantation-reimplantation was 11.8 *** QoV scores improved signifcantly across all the three *** function improved with a change in VF-14 score from 60.41±24.81 to 90.16±10.91(pproved as *** uncorrected distance visual acuity improved from 0.24 to 0.12 logMAR after exchange(pnd corrected distance visual acuity improved from 0.15 to 0.04 logMAR(pnd efcacy indexes reached 1.46 and 1.16,*** patients’satisfaction following MF-IOl exchange,80%of the patients reported they would have the MF-IOl reimplantation procedure ***:patient dissatisfaction with neuroadaptation failure following MF-IOl implantation can be managed in 80%of our cases by MF-IOl exchange with a diferent MF-IOl optical profle.
