background and Objectives: The indication for treatment in HbsAg-positive patients with low viral load and normal transaminases requires an assessment of fibrosis. In resource-limited settings, free hepatic fibrosis evaluation tests can aid in therapeutic decision-making. Our study aims to demonstrate the utility of assessing hepatic fibrosis using non-invasive markers (APRI and fIb-4) in patients with chronic b viral hepatitis without cytolytic activity and low viral replication in our context. Patients and Methods: This is a retrospective cross-sectional study conducted between January 2018 and December 2021 at the University Hospital Center of bouaké. Included were all patients aged ≥18 with normal transaminases (Results: Our study included 241 patients, with a mean age of 36.19 years (±10.52 years) and a male predominance of 52%. The mean fibroScan® value was 6.44 ± 2.3 kPa, and 68 patients (28.22%) had fibrosis >7 kPa. To exclude significant fibrosis (fS Conclusion: A significant proportion of HbV-infected patients with normal ALT and low viral load have active liver disease. both fIb-4 and APRI biological scores are useful in identifying individuals without significant fibrosis with a good negative predictive value (>50%).

The sessile drop method was applied to the experimental investigation of the wetting and spreading behaviors of liquid Mg drops on pure Ni *** comparison,the experiments were performed in two variants:(1)using the Capillary Purification(CP)procedure,which allows the non-contact heating and squeezing of a pure oxide-free Mg drop;(2)by classical Contact Heating(CH)*** high-temperature tests were performed under isothermal conditions(CP:760℃for 30 s;CH:715℃for 300 s)using Ar+5 wt%H_(2) *** the sessile drop tests,images of the Mg/Ni couples were recorded by CCD cameras(57 fps),which were then applied to calculate the contact angles of metal/substrate *** and transmission electron microscopy analyses,both coupled with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy,were used for detailed structural characterization of the solidified *** was found that an oxide-free Mg drop obtained by the CP procedure showed a wetting phenomenon on the Ni substrate(an average contact angleθfollowed by fast spreading and good wetting over the Ni substrate(θ_((CP))~20°in 5 s)to form a final contact angle ofθ_(f(CP))~18°.In contrast,a different wetting behavior was observed for the CH procedure,where the unavoidable primary oxide film on the Mg surface blocked the spreading of liquid Mg showing apparently non-wetting behavior after 300 s contact at the test ***,in both cases,the deep craters formed in the Ni substrates under the Mg drops and significant change in the structure of initially pure Mg drops to Mg-Ni alloys suggest a strong dissolution of Ni in liquid Mg and apparent values of the final contact angles measured for the Mg/Ni system.

The approximate analytical solutions of the Schrodinger equation for the Eckart potential are presented for the arbitrary angular momentum by using a new approximation of the centrifugal term. The energy eigenvalues and the corresponding wavefunctions are obtained for different values of screening parameter. The numerical examples are presented and the results are in good agreement with the values in the literature. Three special cases, i.e., s-wave, ξ= λ=1, and β=0, are investigated.

Objective: The objective is to determine the prevalence of Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection and highlight the determinants of the infection as well as the gastric histopathological lesions associated with this infection. Methods: This is a retrospective study carried out from August 01, 2015 to December 31, 2020 in bouaké. It included all patients with gastric and/or duodenal lesion on upper gastrointestinal endoscopy in whom gastric biopsies and histopathology results are available. Results: The study involved 510 patients (301 men and 209 women). The prevalence of Hp was 66.47% (339/510 patients). The presence of Hp was not significantly related to age and gender. Epigastralgia was the most common indication with no significant difference between the positive and negative Hp groups (65.37% vs 34.63%, p = 0.35). A significant difference was only observed for duodenal ulcers (84.31% Hp+ vs 15.69% Hp-, p = 0.004). Regarding histological lesions: Chronic and active gastritis was strongly related to the presence of Hp (p ficantly associated with the presence of Hp. These precursor lesions of gastric cancer (metaplasia and atrophy) were, however, significantly related to chronic gastric disease with p = 0.02 and p Conclusion: The prevalence of Hp is high in bouaké. Our study confirms the link between Hp infection and chronic and active gastritis.

The crystal structure, magnetic and magnetocaloric characteristics of the pseduo ternary compounds of TbsGe2-xSi2-xMn2x （0 ≤ 2x ≤ 0.1） were investigated by x-ray powder diffraction and magnetization measurements. The x-ray powder diffraction results show that all compounds preserve the monoclinic phase as the majority phase and all the synthesized compounds were observed to be ferromagnetic from magnetization measurements. Magnetic phase transitions were interpreted in terms of Landau theory. Maximum isothermal magnetic entropy change value （20.84 J-kg-1 -K-1） was found for Tb5Ge1.95Si1.95Mn0.1 at around 123 K in the magnetic field change of 5T.

An AZ31 HP magnesium alloy was laser beam welded in autogenous mode with AZ61 filler using Nd-YAG laser *** examination revealed that the laser beam weld metals obtained with or without filler material had an average grain size of about 12 μ*** microhardness and the tensile strength of the weldments were similar to those of the parent ***,the stress corrosion cracking （SCC） behaviour of both the weldments assessed by slow strain rate tensile （SSRT） tests in ASTM D1384 solution was found to be slightly inferior to that of the parent *** was observed that the stress corrosion cracks originated in the weld metal and propagated through the weld metal-HAZ regions in the autogenous *** the other hand,in the weldment obtained with AZ61 filler material,the crack initiation and propagation was in the HAZ *** localized damage of the magnesium hydroxide/oxide film formed on the surface of the specimens due to the exposure to the corrosive environment during the SSRT tests was found to be responsible for the SCC.

We concluded that insulin and glucose show protective effects on the damage induced by penicillin to primer astroglial cell ***,cell survival depends on concentrations of insulin and glucose *** results of this study will help to explain cerebrovascular pathologies parallel to insulin and glucose conditions of patient after intracranial injuries.

AIM To characterize the role of apolipoprotein b100(apob 100) in hepatitis C viral(HCV) infection. METHODS In this study, we utilize a gene editing tool, transcription activator-like effector nucleases(TALENs), to generate human hepatoma cells with a stable genetic deletion of APOb to assess of apob in HCV. Using infectious cell culture-competent HCV, viral pseudoparticles, replicon models, and lipidomic analysis we determined the contribution of apob to each step of the viral lifecycle. We further studied the effect of mipomersen, an fDAapproved antisense inhibitor of apob 100, on HCV using in vitro cell-culture competent HCV and determined itsimpact on viral infectivity with the TCID50 method. RESULTS We found that apo b100 is indispensable for HCV infection. Using the JfH-1 fully infectious cell-culture competent virus in Huh 7 hepatoma cells with TALENmediated gene deletion of apob(APOb KO), we found a significant reduction in HCV RNA and protein levels following infection. Pseudoparticle and replicon models demonstrated that apo b did not play a role in HCV entry or replication. However, the virus produced by APOb KO cells had significantly diminished infectivity as measured by the TCID-50 method compared to wildtype virus. Lipidomic analysis demonstrated that these virions have a fundamentally altered lipidome, with complete depletion of cholesterol esters. We further demonstrate that inhibition of apob using mipomersen, an fDA-approved anti-sense oligonucleotide, results in a potent anti-HCV effect and significantly reduces the infectivity of the virus. CONCLUSION Apo b is required for the generation of fully infectious HCV virions, and inhibition of apo b with mipomersen blocks HCV. Targeting lipid metabolic pathways to impair viral infectivity represents a novel host targeted strategy to inhibit HCV.

A novel catalytic kinetic method is proposed for the determination of Se（Ⅳ）, Se（Ⅵ）, and total inorganic selenium in water based on the catalytic effect of Se（Ⅳ） on the reduction of Celestine blue by sodium sulfide at pH 7.0 phosphate buffer. The fixed-time method was adopted for the determination and speciation of inorganic selenium. Under the optimum conditions, the two calibration graphs are linear with a good correlation coefficient in the range 2-20 and 20-200 μg·L-1 of Se（Ⅳ） for the fixed-time method at 30℃. The experimental and theo- retical detection limits of the developed kinetic method were found to be 0.21 and 2.50 μg·L-1 for the fixed-time method （3 min）. All of the variables that affect the sensitivity at 645 nm were investigated, and the optimum conditions were established. The interference effect of various cations and anions on the Se（Ⅳ） determination was also studied. The selectivity of the selenium determination was greatly improved with the use of the strongly cation exchange resin such as Amberlite IR120 plus as long as chelating agents of thiourea and thiosulphate. The proposed kinetic method was validated statistically and through recovery studies in natural water samples. The relative standard deviations （RSDs） for ten replicate measurements of 2, 10, and 20 μg·L-1 of Se（Ⅳ） change between 0.35% and 5.58%, while the RSDs for ten replicate measurements of 3, 6, and 12 μg·L-1 of Se（Ⅵ） change between 0.49% and 1.61%. Analyses of a certified standard reference material （NIST SRM 1643e） for selenium using the fixed-time method showed that the proposed kinetic method has good accuracy. The Se（Ⅳ）, Se（Ⅵ）, and total inorganic selenium in lake and river water samples have been successfully determined by this method after selective reduction of Se（Ⅵ） to Se（Ⅳ）.
