This paper describes a person identifcation method for a mobile robot which performs specifc person following under dynamic complicated environments like a school canteen where many persons *** propose a distance-dependent appearance model which is based on scale-invariant feature transform（SIFT） *** is a powerful image feature that is invariant to scale and rotation in the image plane and also robust to changes of lighting ***,the feature is weak against afne transformations and the identifcation power will thus be degraded when the pose of a person changes *** therefore use a set of images taken from various directions to cope with pose ***,the number of SIFT feature matches between the model and an input image will decrease as the person becomes farther away from the ***,we also use a distance-dependent *** person following experiment was conducted using an actual mobile robot,and the quality assessment of person identifcation was performed.

A depressed lesion was found at a gastric angle of 76-yearold Japanese woman by esophagogastroduodenoscopy. Four years prior, she was diagnosed with a Helicobacter pylori infection but no eradication was performed. The pathological diagnosis of biopsy specimens was signet-ring cell carcinoma. Endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD) was performed. Histopathological examination of the ESD specimen revealed proliferation of well-differentiated tubular adenocarcinoma mimicking fundic gland cells at the deep layer of the lamina propria mucosae. These tumor cells expressed focally pepsinogen-Ⅰ, diffusely MUC6, and scattered H^+/K^+ ATPase according to immunohistochemistry. Therefore, we diagnosed this tumor as gastric adenocarcinoma of fundic gland type(GA-FG). Adjacent to the GA-FG, proliferation of signet-ring cell carcinoma which diffusely expressed MUC 2 and MUC 5AC was observed. Intestinal metaplasia was focally observed in the surrounding mucosa of the signet-ring cell carcinoma. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case report of GA-FG with a signet-ring cell carcinoma component. The origin of signet-ring cell carcinoma, i.e., whether it accidentally arose from a non-neoplastic mucosa and coexisted with the GA-FG or dedifferentiated from the GA-FG is unclear at present. We expect the accumulation of similar cases and further analysis to clarify this issue.

A recent subgroup analysis of the TRIBE trial suggested that FOLFOXIRI plus bevacizumab may be a preferred option for the first-line treatment of only right-sided metastatic colorectal cancer(mCRC), regardless of RAS or BRAF status. Our subanalysis of a phase Ⅱ trial of the FOLFOXIRI triplet regimen plus bevacizumab in patients with mCRC who had RAS mutant tumors showed that tumor shrinkage was better and the duration of treatment was longer in patients with leftsided tumors than in those with right-sided tumors, leading to a higher rate of conversion to surgery in mCRC patients with left-sided tumors. The early and deep responses to the triplet-regimen in patients with left-sided tumors might facilitate conversion treatment resulting in favorable survival. Our data suggest that the FOLFOXIRI plus bevacizumab might be a promising treatment for left-sided mCRC involving RAS mutant tumors.

Non-destructive quality detection and automatic grading are important in fruit *** traditional way divides bananas into 7-level ripening stages based on *** study investigated the changes of peel color at three positions of banana fingers,***,middle and tip.A support vector machine method was used to classify the ripening stages by color value L*,a*and b*as input *** ripening stages were classified by 10-fold cross validation method of support vector machines with radial basis function kernel and linear function *** results showed that the color change of middle position of banana finger adequately reflected the changes in banana ripening stages.a*value continuously increased from ripening stage 1 to ripening stage 7,L*and b*values increased from ripening stage 1 to ripening stage 5,and then decreased from ripening stage 5 to ripening stage *** was difficult to recognize the ripening stages using L*,a*and b*values *** accuracy of classification using support vector machine based on radial basis function kernel reached 96.5%,which was higher than that for linear function *** research can provide a reference for automatic classification of banana ripening stages.

To clarify the corrosion behavior of Ni-based hard facing alloy Colmonoy 56 and the preferential dissolution detail at the micrometer scale, the microstructure and the elemental distribution of a rod were analyzed, followed with the polarization measurement in aqueous solution with different p H and Na Cl concentrations. This rod has Fe-, Si-, and Cr-solutioned [Ni] matrix with heterogeneously dispersed secondary phases of Cr23C6, CrB, Cr2B, and Cr5B3. The polarization curve largely changed with different p H: active in acid solution and passive in neutral and alkaline solution. The strongest passivation appeared at p H = 11. Cl-promoted the corrosion attack to the [Ni] matrix. In the case of pH = 11, Cl-caused the fast climb of anodic current from passivation at a less noble potential. Preferential dissolution of the [Ni] matrix occurred in most solutions, except in the case of pH = 14 without Na Cl, in which the secondary phases preferably dissolved.

IN the northern central part of Honshu Island, Japan, there is an Atostsugawa Active Fault system that isone of the most active faults in Japan. The Mozumi-Sukenobu fault is one of the Atotsugawa Active Faultsystems and is an ENE-WSW running right lateral strike slip fault. In February 1997, a fault survey tunnel was excavated across the Mozumi-Sukenobu fault from the Nagato tunnel excavated in the *** samples were collected along the Nagato and fault survey tunnels in and around the MozumiSukenobu fault and their chemical compositions, oxygen and hydrogen isotope ratios and tritium concentrations were measured. It is clearly observed that major chemical compositions of groundwater samples collected along theNagato tunnel are Ca and HCO3 ions. These sampling points are more than 500 m distant from the Mozumi-Sukenobu fault. This Ca-HCO3 type chemical composition is common in shallow groundwater. On thecontrary, groundwater samples in and adjacent to the Mozumi-Sukenobu fault have Ne-HCO3 type chemi-
