Highly enhanced UV absorp.ion and light emission of.monolayer WS_(2)through hybridization with Ti_(2)N MXene quantum dots and g-c_(3)N_(4)quantum dots

Two-dimensional(2D)transition metal dichalcogenides(TMD)are atomically thin semiconductors with p.omising op.oelectronic ap.lications across the visible ***,their intrinsically weak light absorp.ion and the low p.otoluminescence quantum yield(p.QY)restrict their p.rf.rmance and p.tential use,esp.cially in ultraviolet(UV)wavelength light *** dots(QD)derived f.om 2D materials(2D/QD)p.ovide ef.icient light absorp.ion and emission of.which energy can be tuned f.r desirable light *** this study,we greatly enhanced the p.oton absorp.ion and p.QY of.monolayer(1L)tungsten disulf.de(WS_(2))in the UV range via hybridization with 2D/QD,p.rticularly titanium nitride MXene QD(Ti_(2)N MQD)and grap.itic carbon nitride QD(GcNQD).With the hybridization of.MQD or GcNQD,1LWS_(2)showed a maximum p. enhancement by 15 times with 300 nm wavelength excitation,while no noticeable enhancement was observed when the excitation p.oton energy was less than the bandgap.of.the QD,indicating that UV absorp.ion by the QD p.ayed a crucial role in enhancing the light emission of.1L-WS_(2)in our 0D/2D hybrid *** f.ndings p.esent a convenient method f.r enhancing the p.oto-resp.nse of.1L-WS_(2)to UV light and of.er exciting p.ssibilities f.r harvesting UV energy using 1L-TMD.

Excessive Drowsiness among Truck Drivers in Benin in 2023: Associated f.ctors and Risk of.crashes Occurrence

Introduction: Over-drowsiness is a condition with serious consequences, including road accidents. The condition, however, is of.en ignored both by carers as well as victims themselves. The aim of.the p.esent study was to investigate the f.ctors associated with excessive drowsiness in cotonou, Benin 2023, along with its inf.uence on the occurrence of.crashes among truck drivers. Methods: This was a descrip.ive and analytical cross-sectional study, held f.om March 13 to Ap.il 10, 2023, f.cusing on large truck drivers over 18 years of.age, selected by convenience f.om p.rking lots in and around the city of.cotonou. Data collected using questionnaires on socio-demograp.ic.and behavioral f.ctors, sleep.ng habits and working conditions were p.ocessed using Stata 15.0 sof.ware. Excessive drowsiness was def.ned by a score above 10 on the Ep.orth scale. Associated f.ctors were f.und by multip.e logistic regression, at a threshold of.0.05. Results: Altogether 304 drivers, all male and aged 35.98 ± 8.42 years, were surveyed. The p.evalence of.excessive drowsiness was 29.2%. The associated f.ctors identif.ed were not p.acticing sp.rt OR = 2.27, cI95% = [1.33;3.86], p.= 0,002;sleep.duration p.r working day OR = 1.82;cI95% = [1.06;3.11], p.= 0,027 and average distance travelled p.r day OR = 3.40;cI95% = [1.53;7.56], p.= 0,003. Excessive drowsiness was associated with a 1.73-f.ld increased risk of.road accidents (cI95% [1.04;2.87];p.= 0.03). conclusion: communicating excessive drowsiness and its associated f.ctors to all the stakeholders in the haulage chain is essential to help.p.event road accidents.
