Heat augmentation techniques play a vital role in the heating and cooling processes in industries,including solar collectors and many applications that utilize heat *** studies are based on inserting fillers inside the tubes to enhance heat *** investigation considered the effects of twisted tapes with large holes on a tubular heat exchanger’s(HX)heat transmission,pressure drop,and thermal boosting *** the experimental section,counter-swirl flow generators used twisted tapes with pairs of 1.0 cm-diameter holes and changes in porosity(Rp)at 1.30%and 2.70%.In the experiments,air was utilized as a working fluid in a tube with a circular *** turbulent flow was considered,with Reynolds numbers(Re)domain from 4800 to 9500,and a boundary condition with a uniform wall heat flux was *** findings expound that when the number of holes rose,the Nusselt number(Nu),the factor of friction(f),and the thermal enhancement factor(η)all increased as ***,as the friction factor increased,the Nusselt number of the tape-equipped tube was noticeably ***,it was discovered that the friction factor was between 70%and 94%lower than the values of the tube without tape,while the(Nu)was between 87%and 97%higher than the conventional tube *** maximum value ofηis 89%.According to the experimental results,empirical correlations for Nu,f,andηwere also generated.

Case Report: A 72 Years Old Man with Isaacs’ Syndrome: A Rare Entity with Different Outcomes

Neuromyotonia is a neuromuscular hyperexitability disorder characterized by muscle stiffness caused by continuous muscle fiber activity. It is an immune mediated disorder with elevated antibody level against presynaptic, voltage gated potassium channels, either as isolation or as a paraneoplastic process. Symptoms usually include muscle twitching during rest (myokymia), cramps, peudomyotonia (delayed relaxation), increased sweating, and sometimes motor weakness. In this case report, we present a seventy-two years old man who presented with pain in both thighs for one month. It gradually became worse to involve feet and chest. His brain CT scan showed features of brain atrophy. EMG showed fasciculation along neuromyotonic discharges with characteristic wave in frequency and am.litude typical of Isaacs’ syndrome. Potassium channel antibodies were very high. Diagnosis of Isaacs’ syndrome was made. He was followed up for two months with treatment by three-day course of methyl prednisolone followed by oral steroid and methotrexate with much improvement. This is the first case of Isaacs’ syndrome in Kurdistan.

This research work is the result of multidisciplinary research for the design of a digital learning tool from the basic level. Computer science guarantees the technical concepts of the development of the tool. At the same time, Information and Communication Science discipline describes the concepts of cognitive psychology with digital competence in computerization. The overall goal of this work is to provide an HCI component for basic level learning or HCI for the illiterate. It is about transforming a communication tool from a cognitive system to a digital learning tool adapted to the learner’s level of digital competence. The author relies on the UMl class diagram to identify the affordance and serendipity of HCI property entities. The mathematical study of the similarity between these two properties allows us to update the learner’s profile. Stephanie’s approach was used when managing the learner’s profile and the digital competency taxonomy to classify the learner’s level of digital use. The principle of an expert system was taken up in this work to make the decision on the level of digital competence of the learner and to guide the solution so that the learning continues without interruption. This expert system integrates the data science of digital educational materials, defining its specificity. The algorithm of the realization summarizes the implementation of the whole approach. αβGasy@mobile is an application on Android for Malagasy language literacy. To learn the letter “l” with this application, the initially low-level learner had an intermediate assessment score after 2 hours of continuous learning. Self-constructivism has been developed and strengthened by the HCI illiterate component. We have hundreds of learners for the case study and used ten smartphones to 5 inches. Genital ulceration is the loss of integrity of the mucous membranes (or genital skin) leaving the dermis uncovered and almost always accompanied by satellite lymphadenopathies. Beyond a month of evolution, it is said to be chronic. Sexually transmitted diseases are infections due to microbial agents among which parasites, bacteria, viruses and fungi that can be associated with each other to varying degrees. Sexually transmitted infections must be mentioned before any genital ulceration. Hence the interest of the case that we report of chronic anogenital ulcerations complicating a polymicrobial pelvic infection in a patient immunocompromised to HIV. The physical examination reveals a hypogastric sensitivity to deep palpation, the presence of a superinfected anogenital ulceration exposing the deep dermis covered with purulent serosities interesting the labia minora, the posterior vaginal fork, the anal region, the clitoris and an extension of the lesions to the gluteal fold is observed. We found a satellite lymphadenopathy in the right inguinal fold. The screening finds the HIV1 positive serology with a viral load of 28,000 copies, the herpes simplex 1&2 and Chlamydia trachomatis serologies were all positive. The genital sam.les are marked by the presence of bacterial vaginosis with Candida Albicans and Gardnerella Vaginalis, the presence of urogenital mycoplasmas of the Ureaplasma Urealyticum The pelvic ultrasound was in favor of a bilateral adnexitis. A protocol was put in place: the first step consisted of seat baths, antifungi and antibiotics administration: fluconazole 150 mg and tinidazole 2 g in single doses, then josamycin 1 g/24h in two doses per os for two weeks. The second stage consists of the administration of doxycycline 200 mg for 21 days, Aciclovir 500 mg for 10 days, and the administration of arV (Tenofovir + lamivudine + Dolutegravir) or one tablet daily. Background: Submucosal myomas can be responsible for abnormal bleeding, spontaneous abortions or even infertility. Objectives: This study aimed to study the correlation between the diagnosis and classification of submucosal fibroids at hysterosonography and at hysteroscopy at Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgery and Human Reproductive Teaching Hospital (CHRACERH), Yaoundé, Cameroon. Methodology: We conducted a hospital-based cross-sectional study with retrospective data collection. Included were the files of patients in whom a hysteroscopy for uterine cavity evaluation was done from the 1st of January 2020 to the 31st of July 2022. The data collected were analysed using SPSS version 25 and Microsoft Excel 2013. Hysterosonographic findings were compared to those of hysteroscopy using Cohen’s kappa inter-observer agreement test. Results: A total of 104 women had available hysterosonography results prior to diagnostic hysteroscopy. The ages of the participants ranged from 26 to 65 years with a mean age of 39.92 ± 7.02 years. A total of 69 submucosal fibroids were identified at hysterosonography and 47 (68.1%) were found at hysteroscopy. There was agreement between the two methods in 13/17 (76.5%) cases of FIGO 0 fibroids, 21/30 (70.0%) of FIGO 1 fibroids and 13/22 (59.1%) of FIGO 2 fibroids. The overall agreement was moderate with a kappa coefficient of 0.478 (p Conclusion: The results present hysteroscopy as the gold standard for the diagnosis of submucosal myomas, but clinicians need to recognize utility of hysterosonography in certain situations.

Background: In Vitro Fertilization/Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (IVF/ICSI) represents the final step in the management of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). Our objective was to study the association between PCOS phenotypes and IVF/ICSI results in women admitted to Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgery and Human Reproductive Teaching Hospital (CHRACERH). Material and Method: We carried out a cohort study with historical-prospective data collection over a period of seven years (January 2016 to March 2023) at Chracerh. PCOS patients were subdivided into 4 subgroups A, B, C and D. Results: We recruited 128 patients including 64 PCOS patients divided into four phenotypes and 64 non-PCOS patients constituting the control group. Phenotype D without hyperandrogenism had used the lowest dose of gonadotropins, i.e. 1939.7 ± 454.3 IU, and had produced a greater quantity of estradiol on the day ovulation was triggered (6529.8 ± 4324.8 ng/ml). The average number of punctured follicles and mature oocytes were higher in the phenotype D group. Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) occurred mainly in phenotype D (3/35), with an estimated prevalence of 2.3%. The fertilization rate seemed lower in the hyperandrogenic phenotypes A, B, C compared to the group without hyperandrogenism without significant difference (p = 0.461). The biological pregnancy rate and live birth rate were comparable between the different groups. Conclusion: Phenotype D used less dose of gonadotropins. Biological pregnancy and live birth rates were comparable between the different phenotypes.

Epidemiological Profile and location of lesions According to #ENZIAN of Patients Operated on for Endometriosis in a Public Endoscopic Surgery Centre, Yaounde, Cameroon

Introduction: Endometriosis is a chronic disease affecting approximately 10% of women. Our aim was to describe the epidemiological profile, clinical presentation and location of lesions in patients operated on for endometriosis. Methodology: We conducted an analytical cross-sectional study with retrospective data collection over a period of 05 years from 1 January 2017 to 31 March 2022. Our study population consisted of women who had undergone laparoscopy for endometriosis. Data analysis was performed using SPSS software version 23.0. Results: In total we included 159 patients who had undergone laparoscopy for endometriosis. The mean age was 32.9 ± 5.9 years, most of whom were nuligravida 61.6% (n = 99). Infertility was the most frequent reason for consultation, accounting for 72.3% (n = 115), followed by dysmenorrhoea in 60.8% (n = 96) of cases and chronic pelvic pain in 37.7% (n = 60). In addition, 46 (28.9%) patients complained of deep dyspareunia, 17 (10.7%) of dyschezia and nine (5.7%) of dysuria. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) was used in one patient. Diagnostic laparoscopy was performed directly in 77 (48.4%) patients. The lesions were multifocal, according to the #ENZIAN classification nomenclature. Tubal lesions were most frequently found 107 (67.3%) on the left, followed by compartment B (uterosacral ligaments, cardinal ligaments and lateral pelvic wall) 49.7% (n = 79), and endometriomas 40.9% (n = 65). Conclusion: Women operated on for endometriosis were of a more advanced age, and predominantly nulliparous. Infertility was the most frequent reason for consultation and tubal location most frequently encountered for superficial lesions and compartiment B for deep lesions according to #ENZIA.

Introduction: Breast cancer in women is a global scourge due to its frequency and high fatality rate. If screening has made it possible to considerably reduce its incidence and its mortality in developed countries, in our developing countries, it remains frequent with a still high mortality due to ignorance, late and non-systematized screening. Research Question: Can female health caregivers be incorporated into a breast cancer screening awareness team? Objective: It aimed at evaluating the knowledge of female health caregivers in Douala hospitals, added to that of female users on breast cancer screening for their efficient operationalization in this procedure. Methodology: This was a comparative cross-sectional study for analytical purposes for a period of 07 months from January 15 to July 15, 2020 conducted by means of a structured and pre-tested questionnaire after informed consent obtained from the participants received in the consultation units of these hospitals. The study variables were socio-demographic and cognitive. The data collected were entered and analyzed using SPSS 23.0 software (statistical package for social sciences) with a significance level established for a value of p Results: We retained 1000 women fulfilling our inclusion criteria, including 818 users and 182 health caregivers, i.e. an average ratio of 4 users for 1 caregiver. The average age of the users was 31.03 ± 11.31 years and that of the caregiver was 29.54 ± 8.14 years (with extremes of 15 and 67 years identical in the two groups) with a respective median of 29 and 28 years old. Good knowledge was significantly associated with level of education (secondary OR = 0.38, p = 0.03 and University OR = 0.22, p = 0.001) with a predominance of good knowledge among care givers (83.5%) against 56.2% among users.
