Treating gingival recessions is important to satisfy the functional and aesthetic needs of the patients. Among various available techniques to treat gingival recessions, the subepithelial connective tissue graft technique is still considered to be the best despite its inherent disadvantages. The recent innovation utilising periosteum as a pedicle graft to treat gingival recession defects has drawn considerable attention and may provide a viable alternative to subepithelial connective tissue graft.

Polycrystalline cobalt-substituted tungsten bronze ferroelectric ceramics with chemical composition Ba_(5)CaTi_(2-x)Co_(X)Nb_(8)O_(30)(x=0.00,0.02,0.04 and 0.08)were synthesized by solid state reaction technique.X-ray diffraction(XRD)technique was used to confirm the phase formation and it revealed the formation of single phase tetragonal structure with space group *** surface morphology of the samples was studied by using the scanning electron microscopy(SEM)*** dielectric properties such as dielectric constant and dielectric loss have been investigated as a function of temperature and *** P-E and M-H studies confirmed the coexistent of ferroelectricity and magnetism at room *** P-E loop study indicated an increase in the coercive field while the M-H study depicted a decrease in the magnetization with the incorporation of cobalt ions.

Proper selection of the explosive is an important part of blast *** judicious selection of explosives is governed by economic considerations and site/field *** mine management desires to select an explosive that will give the lowest cost per unit of rock broken,while assuring that fragmentation,fragment size distribution,muck pile profile,muck pile diggability,displacement of the rock,onset of movement,face movement,burden relief rate,ground vibration and noise remains within control *** which influence the selection of an explosive include explosive cost,charge diameter,cost of drilling,fragmentation difficulties and fragment size requirement with loose muck pile condition,water conditions,atmospheric temperature,propagating ground,storage considerations,sensitivity considerations,explosive atmospheres and nearness of communities from *** these concerns can be handled effectively by using the impedance matching technology where explosive impedance is matched with rock impedance for optimal blast performance with due concern to productivity,economics and *** paper discusses a case study in limestone mines where rock impedance was determined by carrying out surface refraction test and a patented algorithm was used to estimate the explosives’properties ***(velocity of detonation)and density of explosives required.

An investigation was conducted to determine the effect of addition of different levels of AK2,a fuel additive that reduces ash fusion for agricultural biomass,on the physico-chemical properties of biomass *** different biomass straws,barley,oat,and wheat were ground at two hammer mill screen sizes of 0.8 mm and 1.6 *** ground biomass sample was mixed with three levels of AK2,0.05%,0.10%,and 0.15%by mass and also a blank(no AK2)was set aside for *** were made using single-pelleting unit at a pre-set load of 4400 N corresponding to a pressure of 138.9 *** quality of pellets were determined by measuring pellet density,relaxed density,durability,and the specific energy required to make a *** having higher durability values(74%-88%)were obtained from ground straw at hammer screen size of 0.8 mm and AK2 level of 0.15%compared to other ***,hydrogen,nitrogen,and sulfur content of blank pellets and those with 0.15%AK2 at hammer screen size of 0.8 mm were *** made with 0.15%AK2 at hammer screen size of 0.8 mm,manufactured by pilot-scale pellet mill,were gasified and the tar content was *** tar content of pellets with 0.15%AK2 was significantly lower than blank pellets.

There are several underground mines in India which operate in close proximity to an operating surface *** such scenario,the blast induced stress waves generated due to surface blasting may be a potential source to cause instability of adjoining underground mine *** seismographs,54 blast induced vibration data were recorded at various locations in the roof,floor and pillars of the underground mine at Hingir Rampur mine of Coal India Limited by synchronizing the timing of surface blasting carried at an adjacent Samleshwari opencast *** of this study show that Artificial Neural Network(ANN)has better prediction potential of peak particle velocity(PPV)and damage to adjacent underground structures due to surface blasting as compared to conventional regression *** order to assess and predict the impact of surface blasts on underground workings,Blast Damage Factor(BDF)has been *** study shows that site specific charts can predict the blast damage class at an underground location due to surface blasting for known distances and explosive charge per *** severe damage in case study mine site took place when peak particle velocity exceeded 162 mm/s and PPV less than 51 mm/s had no probability of damage to underground structures due to surface blasting.

Coal is the mainstay of power generation in India. The manifold increase in demand for coal puts a huge pressure on augmenting production, primarily from opencast mines. The increase in production necessitates heavy blasting in overburden and coal benches of opencast mines which poses numerous challenges in carrying out blasting operation techno-economically. Presently, the consumption of industrial explosives and accessories in Coal India has touched a whopping figure of 350 million USD per annum. The present paper discusses some of key challenges faced in various mines of coal in India during blasting where blast instrumentation may contribute to the mine productivity and economics significantly. Blast Instrumentation at mine level will prove to a harbinger for practicing blasting engineers. The blast instrumentation at Sonepur Bazari project resulted in direct savings in explosives cost by 29.5% The use of well characterized explosives obtained by using MASW （multi channel analysis of surface waves） technique at Umrer project of Coal India Limited resulted in improvement in fragment size by 12.76%. It may be concluded with high degree of confidence that blast instrumentation at mine level will influence the mine productivity and economics.
