This paper provides insight into the seismic behavior of a full-scale precast reinforced concrete wall under in-plane cyclic loading combined with out-of-plane loading replicated by sand backfill to simulate the actual condition of basement *** tested wall exhibited flexural cracks,owing to the high aspect ratio and considerable out-of-plane movement due to lateral pressure from the *** wall performed satisfactorily by exhibiting competent seismic parameters and deformation characteristics governed by its ductile response in the nonlinear phase during the test with smaller residual *** analysis was conducted to validate experimental findings,which complied with each *** numerical model was used to conduct parametric studies to study the effect of backfill density and aspect ratio on seismic response of the proposed precast wall *** in-plane capacity of walls reduced,while deformation characteristics were unaffected by the increase in backfill *** increase in aspect ratio leads to a reduction in in-plane capacity and an increase in *** between the ratio of in-plane yield capacity and design shear load of walls are proposed for the backfill density,which may be adopted to determine the in-plane yield capacity of the basement walls based on their design shear.

In deepwater drilling,the properties of water-based drilling fluids change remarkably due to low temperature and high pressure,which have a significant effect on lost circulation,wellbore instability and the window between pore pressure and fracturing *** present work investigates the influence of low temperature and high pressure on polymer and nanoparticle(boron nitride(BN))based drilling fluids with an aim to improve their rheological properties and fluid loss *** amplitude and frequency sweep tests were conducted to understand the viscoelastic nature of the *** amplitude sweep tests confirmed the structural stability of the designed fluid within the studied sweep *** study reveals that storage modulus(G')and loss modulus(G")of the samples are enhanced with increasing concentration of BN *** viscoelastic range also increases due to the intermolecular interaction within the structure of the fluid in the presence of the *** the linear viscoelastic range(LVER),all the samples show the dominance of elastic modulus than viscous modulus which delineates the solid-like *** results of rheological tests of drilling fluid containing BN nanoparticles indicate a significant reduction in plastic viscosity(PV),yield point(YP)and apparent viscosity(AV).The rheological studies conducted at different temperatures(from 10℃to-5℃)and pressures(from 7.8 MPa toll MPa)reveal the minimum effect of pressure and temperature on the rheology of samples,which are desirable for their applications in hydrate and deepwater *** filtration loss experiments conducted at 30℃and 0.69 MPa show a large reduction in fluid loss volume(60.6%)and filter cake thickness(90%)for the sample with 0.4 wt%BN nano particles compared to that of the sample without *** filter cake permeability is also in the favourable range with0.008 mD which shows a 94%reduction compared to the sample without nanoparticles.A regres

In this work,mixing and segregation of binary mixtures involving biomass materials in a fluidized bed was experimentally investigated.A frozen bed method was employed to investigate both axial and radial distribution of biomass particles in silica *** different biomass materials were studied:willow sawdust,pelletized soy and oat hull *** loading investigated ranged from 5% to 30% by *** extent of mixing for each of the biomass composition was investigated using Lacey’s mixing index which is based on the standard deviations of the sample at different axial positions in the *** radial composition was also investigated by means of digital imaging analysis using a high-resolution digital *** experiments revealed the differences in the extent of particle distribution for pelletized biomass materials vs non-densified materials as a result of differences in particle size,density and importantly,the particle shape of the materials *** results showed an increase in the extent of mixing as the fluidizing velocity increased for both pellet materials while the mixing index for sawdust decreased beyond a loading of 20%.With an increase in biomass loading,an increase in mixing index was found for the two pellet materials.A similar trend was observed for sawdust at the lower loading ***,the mixing index started to decrease at higher loading level beyond 20%.The results greatly contributed to the understanding of the hydrodynamics of binary and multicomponent mixtures involving biomass materials,especially pelletized materials in fluidized beds.

Manufacturing industries are facing challenges in the implementation of agile manufacturing in their products and processes. Agility is widely accepted as a new competitive concept in the manufacturing sector in fulfilling varying customer demand. Thus, evaluation of agile manufacturing in industries has become a necessity. The success of an organisation depends on its ability to manage finding the critical success factors and give them special and continued attention in order to bring about high performance. This paper proposes a set of critical success factors （CSFs） for evaluating agile manufacturing considered appropriate for the manufacturing sector. The analytical hierarchy process （AHP） method is applied for prioritizing the success factors, by summarizing the opinions of experts. It is believed that the proposed CSFs enable and assist manufacturing industries to achieve a higher performance in agile manufacturing so as to increase competitiveness.

A Gaussian wave function is used for detailed study of the mass spectra of the B and Bs mesons using a Cornell potential incorporated with （1/m） correction in the potential energy term and expansion of the kinetic energy term up to （p10） for relativistic correction of the Hamiltonian. The predicted excited states for the B and Bs mesons are in very good agreement with results obtained by experiment. We assign B2（5747） and Bs2（5840） as the 1^3p2 state, B1（5721） and Bs1（5830） as the 1P1 state, B0（5732） as the 1^3P0 state, Bs1（5850） as the 1P1 state and B（5970） as the 23S1 state. We investigate the Regge trajectories in the （J,M2） and （nr,M2） planes with their corresponding parameters. The branching ratios for leptonic and radiative-leptonic decays are estimated for the B and Bs mesons. Our results are in good agreement with experimental observations as well as outcomes of other theoretical models.

We present the masses of N baryons up to 3300 MeV. The radial and orbital excited states are determined using hypercentral constituent quark model with the first-order correction. The obtained masses are compared with the experimental results and other theoretical predictions. The Regge trajectories are also determined in(n, M^2) and(J, M^2) planes. Moreover, the magnetic moments with J^p =(1^+/2,1^-/2) are calculated. We also calculates the Nπ decay width of excited nucleons.

The framework of a phenomenological quark-antiquark potential（Coulomb plus linear confinement）model with a Gaussian wave function is used for detailed study of masses of the ground, orbitally and radially excited states of heavy-light Qq^-,（Q=c,q=u/d,s） mesons. We incorporate a O（1/m） correction to the potential energy term and relativistic corrections to the kinetic energy term of the Hamiltonian. The spin-hyperfine, spin-orbit and tensor interactions incorporating the effect of mixing are employed to obtain the pseudoscalar, vector, radially and orbitally excited state meson masses. The Regge trajectories in the（J,M^2） and（nr,M^2） planes for heavy-light mesons are investigated with their corresponding parameters. Leptonic and radiative leptonic decay widths and corresponding branching ratios are computed. The mixing parameters are also estimated. Our predictions are in good agreement with experimental results as well as lattice and other theoretical models.

Magma produced by melting of continental crust and mantle at the Archean-Proterozoic boundary are compositionally variable and chemical compositions provide evidence for the mixing of two sources. Understanding the composition of hybrid magma is essential for determining the comparative infl uence of crust and mantle sources during orogenesis. The hybrid granites are less documented in Indian cratons, especially less in Dharwar Craton. Here we present petrographic and whole-rock geochemical data of Madgulapalli granitic rocks situated in the NE part of the Eastern Dharwar Craton(EDC), to elucidate their petrogenesis and role in crust formation. The Madugulapalli granites(MPG) are composed chiefl y of plagioclase, quartz, and alkali feldspar with associated biotite showing alteration and inter-granular textures. Geochemically, they are metaluminous to peraluminous in nature with calc-alkaline hybrid granite. The hybrid granites exhibit both negative and positive europium anomalies;the lower Rb/Sr, Rb, Sr, and higher Sr/Y,(Dy/Yb)N ratios suggest that the interaction of older rocks with residual garnet source melted at high pressures. We hypothesize that hybrid granites are formed by interaction(e.g., metasomatism, mingling, or mixing) between parental magmas and pre-existing rocks with the infl uence of sanukitoid melts(heat source) in a subduction environment. The genesis of the hybrid granites demonstrates the mixing coupled with diff erentiation in the petrogeny’s residue system in a syn-collision setting followed by continental crust stability in EDC during the Neoarchean period.
