The Bahraini Uprising of 2011 and the Regime’s Securitisation of Sectarianism as a Survival mechanism

This paper focuses on the Bahraini regime’s usage of sectarianism as a survival *** argument herein has adopted a modernist approach,where sectarian identities are not viewed as fixed and as causes of an ancient hatred struggle,but are instead viewed as a modern construction that are securitised and *** examines how this particular struggle was framed in a sectarian context through the analysis of three pivotal stages of the 2011 uprising and its *** stages are broken down as follows:(1)the first stage of the uprising,which includes the first month of the uprising and the period prior to the regional military intervention,a period which was characterised by negotiations and dialogue;(2)the period of fragmentation within Bahraini society in which this paper explores the various reasons behind the failed reforms and the failure/ending of dialogue between the regime and the oppositions;and(3)the period of military intervention and the uprising’s aftermath,which reflected a time of securitisation and de-securitisation of the uprising’s space,image and *** three stages showcase overriding factors such as fear,lack of inclusion of alternatives,divided opposition,and limited regime reform which contributed to the Bahraini regime’s brutal reaction to protesters in 2011 and the Qatar-Gulf crisis which emerged in *** three stages reflect the regime’s pragmatism in dealing with the clashes,and its security narrative adjustment to the regional alliance *** Bahraini regime was able to survive the challenges posed by the uprising in the short-term,but its short-term solutions such as the naturalisation process,would have damaging effects on society in the long-run.

microbial analysis and surface characterization of SABIC carbon steel corrosion in soils of different moisture levels

We tested the effect of three types of soil inSaudi Arabiaon SABIC carbon steel grade X60 (SCSX60) specimens. The results showed that the environment effect of different condition was very clear, indicating that the studied soils were very corrosive SCSX60 specimens. The composition and morphology of corrosion were different in the tested soil based on moisture content and immersion period. In addition, the results showed that bacteria play an important role in the corrosion of SCSX60. The morphologies of corrosion products were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy to further elucidate the complex systems found in the studied soil.

The impacts of altitude and seed pretreatments on seedling emergence of Syrian juniper (Juniperus drupacea (Labill.) Ant. et Kotschy)

Background:Syrian juniper is an economically important species and in danger of *** these reasons,the best seedling production methods of the species should be determined and its plantations should be *** aim of the study is to examine the impacts of altitude and different pretreatment combinations of cold and warm stratifications,citric acid,shaking seeds in bottles with crushed glass,and different stimulating agents including Baikal Em1,Biohumus,Polystimulin A6 and K hormones(PS-A6 and PS-K)on seed germination of Syrian *** conduct the study,the cones of the Syrian junipers were collected from three different altitudes(1000,1200,and 1400 m a.s.l.)within the boundaries of Forest management Directorate of Bozyazı,mersin in *** seeds were subjected to three replicates per one treatment(altitude in interaction with pretreatment).There were 100 seeds per ***:Two-way ANOVA revealed significant effects of altitude,pretreatment,and their interaction on seedling emergence of Syrian *** from higher altitudes had higher germination rates in all *** highest percent emergence(85%)was recorded in the combination consisting of shaking with crushed glass,both cold and warm stratification,and successive application of stimulators PS-A6 and *** the treatments with most germinating seeds encompassed shaking in crushed glass or soaking in citric acid,both warm and cold stratifications,and application of stimulating ***:The use of seeds from higher altitudes should be considered for seedling production of Syrian juniper due to their higher germination *** altitudinal differences,specific pretreatments can rise germination potential more than twofold.

On a Novel Extended Lomax Distribution with Asymmetric Properties and Its Statistical Applications

In this article,we highlight a new three-parameter heavy-tailed lifetime distribution that aims to extend the modeling possibilities of the Lomax *** is called the extended Lomax *** considered distribution naturally appears as the distribution of a transformation of a random variable following the logweighted power distribution recently introduced for percentage or proportion data analysis *** a result,its cumulative distribution has the same functional basis as that of the Lomax distribution,but with a novel special logarithmic term depending on several *** modulation of this logarithmic term reveals new types of asymetrical shapes,implying a modeling horizon beyond that of the Lomax *** the first part,we examine several of its mathematical properties,such as the shapes of the related probability and hazard rate functions;stochastic comparisons;manageable expansions for various moments;and quantile *** particular,based on the quantile functions,various actuarial measures are *** the second part,the distribution’s applicability is investigated with the use of themaximumlikelihood *** behavior of the obtained parameter estimates is validated by a simulation *** claim data are *** show that the proposed distribution outperforms eight well-known distributions,including the Lomax distribution and several extended Lomax *** addition,we demonstrate that it gives preferable inferences from these competitor distributions in terms of risk measures.

Human-human interaction recognition is crucial in computer vision fields like surveillance,human-computer interaction,and social *** enhances systems’ability to interpret and respond to human behavior *** research focuses on recognizing human interaction behaviors using a static image,which is challenging due to the complexity of diverse *** overall purpose of this study is to develop a robust and accurate system for human interaction *** research presents a novel image-based human interaction recognition method using a Hidden markov model(Hmm).The technique employs hue,saturation,and intensity(HSI)color transformation to enhance colors in video frames,making them more vibrant and visually appealing,especially in low-contrast or washed-out *** filters reduce noise and smooth imperfections followed by silhouette extraction using a statistical *** extraction uses the features from Accelerated Segment Test(FAST),Oriented FAST,and Rotated BRIEF(ORB)*** application of Quadratic Discriminant Analysis(QDA)for feature fusion and discrimination enables high-dimensional data to be effectively analyzed,thus further enhancing the classification *** ensures that the final features loaded into the Hmm classifier accurately represent the relevant human *** impressive accuracy rates of 93%and 94.6%achieved in the BIT-Interaction and UT-Interaction datasets respectively,highlight the success and reliability of the proposed *** proposed approach addresses challenges in various domains by focusing on frame improvement,silhouette and feature extraction,feature fusion,and Hmm *** enhances data quality,accuracy,adaptability,reliability,and reduction of errors.

Strong interfacial charge transfer between hausmannite manganese oxide and alumina for efficient photocatalysis

Well crystalline manganese oxide(mn_(3)O_(4))nanoparticles anchored on gamma alumina(γ-al_(2)O_(3))have been successfully tailored via a proficient and cost effective chemical process as an efficient material for photo *** indicated the composite formation ofγ-al_(2)O_(3) and hausmannite structure of mn_(3)O_(4).SEm and TEm revealed that hetero structure of mn_(3)O_(4)/γ-al_(2)O_(3) exhibits an amalgam of aggregated nanoparticles and *** demonstrated the chemical states of binary *** band gap tuning has been performed withγ-al_(2)O_(3) nanoparticles by assimilating hausmannite mn_(3)O_(4) particles into flower like microstructure of al_(2)O_(3).The photoluminescence spectra affirmed the enhancement in charge separation in mn_(3)O_(4)/γ-al_(2)O_(3) binary hybrid *** band gap becomes narrow with the increase in concentrations of mn_(3)O_(4).The narrowing of band gap is concorded with crystalline domains of primary aggregated *** elucidate the mechanism of the photocatalytic activity linear sweep voltammetry was *** results showed that mn_(3)O_(4)/γ-al_(2)O_(3) nanocomposite revealed the enhancement in current density as compared to pureγ-al_(2)O_(3) which confirmed the electron transfer from mn_(3)O_(4) toγ-al_(2)O_(3) through the interfacial potential gradient in conduction *** optimum concentration of 6.0%mn_(3)O_(4)/γ-al_(2)O_(3) for hybrid structure showed an excellent photocatalytic activity under visible light due to narrow band gap *** degree distribution of mn_(3)O_(4) nano architects overlying onγ-al_(2)O_(3) induces a significant synergic effect betweenγ-al_(2)O_(3) and hausmannite phase of manganese oxide(mn_(3)O_(4)).This strong interfacial contact betweenγ-al_(2)O_(3) and mn_(3)O_(4) endures the quick transfer of photo generated charge carriers across interface.

Non-coding RNAs(ncRNAs)participate in the regulation of several cellular processes including transcription,RNA processing and genome *** aberrant expression of ncRNAs is associated with several pathological *** this review,we focused on recent information to elucidate the role of various regulatory ncRNAs i.e.,micro RNAs(miRNAs),circular RNAs(circRNAs)and long-chain non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs),in metabolic diseases,e.g.,obesity,diabetes mellitus(Dm),cardiovascular diseases(CVD)and metabolic syndrome(metS).The mechanisms by which ncRNAs participated in disease pathophysiology were also *** regulate the expression of genes at transcriptional and translational *** modulate the regulation of gene expression via miRNA sponging activity,interacting with RNA binding protein and polymerase II transcription *** regulate the expression of genes by acting as a protein decoy,miRNA sponging,miRNA host gene,binding to miRNA response elements(mRE)and the recruitment of transcriptional element or chromatin *** examined the role of ncRNAs in the disease pathogenesis and their potential role as molecular markers for diagnosis,prognosis and therapeutic *** showed the involvement of ncRNAs in the onset of obesity and its progression to metS and ***-192,miRNA-122,and miRNA-221 were dysregulated in all these metabolic *** ncRNAs,implicated in at least three diseases include miRNA-15a,miRNA-26,miRNA-27a,miRNA-320,and *** of ncRNAs increased the risk of development of Dm and metS and its progression to CVD in obese ***,these molecules are potential targets to arrest or delay the progression of metabolic diseases.

Aggression and violence in the workplace is an act or threat of violence ranging from verbal abuse to physical assaults against individuals employed or on duty(CDC,2019).It is considered a global public health issue faced by staff across different sectors,including the healthcare *** on many studies,Oman recorded a high level of workplace violence against nurses among all Gulf Cooperation Council countries[1-3].al maskari,et al.(2020)found that throughout Oman,violence in the workplace is highly prevalent among nurses in the emergency department[4].The goal of the current policy is to highlight the value of implementing such a policy.
