Areca catechu,is a species of palm.belonging to the fam.ly of Arecaceae/Palm.e,grows vertically,to the height of 10 m.to 20 m.the stem.is straight,solitary and slender,10 cm.to 15 cm.in diam.ter,with m.rks of annulated scars of fallen leaf *** fibres are predom.nantly extracted not only from.the fruit as areca husk,but also from.leaf stalks and *** this review paper,areca fibre is com.ared with those of other representative species of the Arecaceae/Palm.e fam.ly,such as the coconut tree and the palm.tree,in term. of physical and m.chanical *** review article also discusses the physical,m.chanical and therm.l properties of areca fibre and its *** review of known published data reveals that,while areca fibre has the potential to be used as an alternative reinforcem.nt in polym.r ***,it has been also noticed that som. other species from.the fam.ly of Arecaceae/Palm.e have not been explored as natural fibre reinforcem.nt in polym.r com.osites either,thus revealing further options of natural alternative reinforcem.nt to be investigated with regard to their potential to be used in fibre based com.osites for the autom.tive,aerospace,and construction industries.

In this study,we report a laser interferom.try experim.nt for the online-diagnosing of a laserproduced *** laser pulses generating the plasm. are ultra-fast（30 fem.oseconds）,ultraintense（tens of Terawatt） and are focused on a helium gas jet to generate relativistic electron beam. via the laser wakefield acceleration（LWFA） m.chanism.A probe laser beam.λ=800 nm. which is split-off the m.0} beam.is used to cross the plasm. at the tim. of arrival of the m.0} pulse,allowing online plasm. density *** interferom.ter setup is based on the No m.rski m.thod in which we used a Fresnel bi-prism.where the probe beam.interferes with itself after crossing the plasm. m.dium.A high-dynam.c range CCD cam.ra is used to record the interference *** upon the Abel inversion technique,we obtained a 3D density distribution of the plasm. density.

Canted antiferrom.gnetic and optical properties of nanostructures of m._2O_3 prepared by hydrotherm.l synthesis

We have reported new m.gnetic and optical properties of m.2O3 nanostructures. The nanostructures have been synthesized by the hydrotherm.l m.thod com.ined with the adjustm.nt of pH values in the reaction system. The particular characteristics of the nanostructures have been analyzed by em.loying X-Ray diffraction （XRD）, scanning electron m.croscopy （SEm., energy dispersive X-ray （EDX） analysis, transm.ssion electron m.croscopy （TEm., high resolution transm.ssion electron m.croscopy （HRTEm., Ram.n spectroscopy （RS）, UV-visible spectroscopy, and the vibrating sam.le m.gnetom.ter （VSm.. Structural investigation m.nifests that the synthesized m.2O3 nanostructures are orthorhom.ic crystal. m.gnetic investigation indicates that the m.2O3 nanostructures are antiferrom.gnetic and the antiferrom.gnetic transition tem.erature is at TN = 83 K. Furtherm.re, the m.2O3 nanostructures possess canted antiferrom.gnetic order below the Neel tem.erature due to spin frustration, resulting in hysteresis with large coercivity （1580 Oe） and rem.ant m.gnetization （1.52 em./g）. The UV-visible spectrophotom.try was used to determ.ne the transm.ttance behaviour of m.203 nanostructures. A direct optical band gap of 1.2 eV was acquired by using the Davis-m.tt m.del. The UV-visible spectrum indicates that the absorption is prom.nent in the visible region, and transparency is m.re than 80% in the UV region.

Growth of m.nodisperse nanospheres of m.Fe_2O_4 with enhanced m.gnetic and optical properties

Highly dispersive nanospheres of m.Fe204 are prepared by tem.late free hydrotherm.l m.thod. The nanospheres have 47.3-nm.average diam.ter, narrow size distribution, and good crystallinity with average crystallite size about 22 nm. The reaction tem.erature strongly affects the m.rphology, and high tem.erature is found to be responsible for growth of uniform.nanospheres. Ram.n spectroscopy reveals high purity of prepared nanospheres. High saturation m.gnetization （78.3 em./g）, low coercivity （45 Oe, 10e = 79.5775 ***-1）, low rem.nence （5.32 em./g）, and high anisotropy constant 2.84 × 10^4 J/m. （10 tim.s larger than bulk） are observed at room.tem.eratures. The nearly snperparam.gnetic behavior is ~ spin due to com.arable size of nanospheres with superparam.gnetic critical tham.ter Dcr spm.The high value of Keff m.y be due to coupling between the pinned m.m.nt in the am.rphous shell and the m.gnetic m.m.nt in the core of the nanospheres. The nanospheres show prom.nent optical absorption in the visible region, and the indirect band gap is estim.ted to be 0.98 eV from.the transm.ssion spectrum. The prepared m. ferrite has potential applications in biom.dicine and photocatalysis.

The discharge of industrial effluent containing heavy m.tal ions would cause water pollution if such effluent is not properly *** this work,the perform.nce of em.rging nanofiltration(NF)like-forward osm.sis(FO)m.m.rane was evaluated for its efficiency to rem.ve copper ion from.***,copper ion is rem.ved from.aqueous solution via adsorption and/or ion-exchange *** engineered osm.sis m.thod as proposed in this work considered four com.ercial NF m.m.ranes(i.e.,NF90,DK,NDX and PFO)where their separation perform.nces were accessed using synthetic water sam.le containing 100 m.·L-1 copper ion under FO and pressure retarded osm.sis(PRO)*** findings indicated that all m.m.ranes could achieve alm.st com.lete rem.val of copper regardless of m.m.rane orientation without applying external driving *** high rem.val rates were in good agreem.nt with the outcom.s of the m.m.ranes tested under pressuredriven m.de at 1 *** use of appropriate salts as draw solutes enabled the NF m.m.ranes to be em.loyed in engineered osm.sis process,achieving a relatively low reverse solute *** findings showed that the best perform.ng m.m.rane is PFO m.m.rane in which it achieved N 99.4%copper rejection with very m.nim.2} reverse solute flux ofm.2·h-1.

Evaluations of cytotoxicity of Sm.lax m.osotiflora and its effects on sexual horm.ne levels and testicular histology in m.le rats

Objective: To investigate the cytotoxicity of Sm.lax m.osotiflora(S. m.osotiflora)m.thanolic extract and its effects on sexual horm.ne levels and testicular histology in m.le ***: The cytotoxicity of S. m.osotiflora m.thanolic extract was investigated by em.loying brine shrim. lethality assay. Forty eight m.le rats were random.y divided into four groups(Groups I–IV) of 12 each. Rats in Group I were adm.nistered with 0.5 m.L of distilled water(vehicle), whilst Groups II, III and IV received 200, 400 and 800 m./kg of the m.thanolic extract of S. m.osotiflora in 0.5 m.L of the vehicle, respectively. m.le rats treated with continuous daily dosing were killed and necropsied after a total dose period of 60 days. Sexual horm.nes were assayed and histological exam.nation of testes was perform.d according to standard ***: S. m.osotiflora extracts did not produce any cytotoxicity to brine shrim. in all concentrations tested. Serum testosterone level was significantly higher in rats treated with high dose of S. m.osotiflora. Testicular histology showed norm.l architecture with all stages of sperm.togenesis in all experim.ntal ***: The present work confirm.d that S. m.osotiflora extract im.roves reproductive functions, without any cytotoxic activity and produces no histological changes to the testes.

Rare earth-doped spinel nano ferrites are attaining im.ortance as heterogeneous nanocatalysts for the degradation of organic *** earth m.tal doping increases the electrical and optical properties,as well as the surface-to-volume ratio of the bare *** this work,NiFe_(2)O_(4)(NF) and Nd-NiFe_(2)O_(4)(NF-1) were successfully synthesized via the co-precipitation *** nanotubes(CNT)-based nanocom.osite(NF-2) was prepared using the ultra-sonication *** prepared m.terials were analyzed via various physiochem.cal *** degradation efficiency of these m.terials was analyzed for the degradation of Rhodam.ne B,m.thylene blue,and benzoic acid,NF-2 shows the highest efficiency am.ng all the prepared ***-2 shows 83.87%,90.80%,and 66.96% degradation of Rhodam.ne B,m.thylene blue,and benzoic acid,*** reason for the superior activity of NF-2 is the existence of rare earth Nd ions and *** surface area of NF increases due to the presence of carbon nanotubes and enhanced surface area provides m.re active sites for the degradation reaction.

There has been a lot of basic and clinical research on Alzheim.r’s disease(AD)over the last 100 years,but its m.chanism. and treatm.nts have not been fully *** som. controversies,the am.loid-beta hypothesis is one of the m.st widely accepted causes of *** this study,we disclose a new am.loid-beta plaque disaggregating agent and an AD brain-targeted delivery system.using porous silicon nanoparticles(pSiNPs)as a therapeutic nano-platform.to overcom. *** hypothesized that the negatively charged sulfonic acid functional group could disaggregate plaques and construct a chem.cal *** a result of the in vitro assay of am.loid plaques and library screening,we confirm.d that 6-am.no-2-naphthalenesulfonic acid(ANA)showed the highest efficacy for plaque disaggregation as a hit *** confirm.the targeted delivery of ANA to the AD brain,a nano-platform.was created using porous silicon nanoparticles(pSiNPs)with ANA loaded into the pore of pSiNPs and biotin-polyethylene glycol(PEG)surface *** resulting nano-form.lation,nam.d Biotin-CaCl2-ANA-pSiNPs(BCAP),delivered a large am.unt of ANA to the AD brain and am.liorated m.m.ry im.airm.nt of the AD m.use m.del through the disaggregation of am.loid plaques in the *** study presents a new bioactive sm.ll m.lecule for am.loid plaque disaggregation and its prom.sing therapeutic nano-platform.for AD brain-targeted delivery.

Chalcone derivatives are of im.ense im.ortance owing to their superior pharm.cological profile. m.nor changes in their structures create high degree of diversity that results in a broader spectrum of biological activities. The present research paper presents the synthesis of 3-（4-chloro-3-nitrophenyl）-1-phenylprop-2-en-1-one chalcone（I）, single crystal XRD analysis and the evaluation of its possible biological activities like cytotoxic（LD（50） = 5.40 ug/m.L）and antileishm.nial（LD（50） = 0.81 ug/m.L） activities. The results indicate the tested chalcone（I）shows superior inhibition values against leishm.nial prom.stigotes. Further, the possible interaction sites of chalcone（I） with Try R enzym. involved in the redox m.tabolism.of the leishm.nial parasite were determ.ned using docking sim.lation technique. Docking com.utations dem.nstrate that the com.ound establishes prom.nent binding interactions with the key residues of Try R and possesses the potential to effectively inhibit the catalytic activities of enzym.. Thus the results suggest that the chalcone（I） can serve as a potential scaffold for the treatm.nt of leishm.niasis and deserve further developm.nt.

Photoelectrochem.cal evaluation of SILAR-deposited nanoporous BiVO4 photoanodes for solar-driven water splitting

We report a photoelectrochem.cal investigation of BiVO4 photoanodes prepared by successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction(SILAR),a facile m.thod that yields uniform.nanoporous *** characterization of the phase,m.rphology,com.osition,and optical properties of the prepared film.,the efficiencies of charge separation(ηsep)and water oxidation(ηox)in solar water splitting cells em.loying these photoanodes were estim.ted following a previously reported *** wavelength and illumination direction dependencies were discovered in the derived efficiencies,casting doubt on the validity of the *** alternative approach using a diffusion–reaction m.del that explicitly considers the efficiency of electron collection resolved the discrepancies and explained the illumination direction dependence of the *** diffusion lengths(Ln)of 0.45μm.and 0.55μm.were derived for pristine and cobalt phosphate(Co-Pi)m.dified BiVO4,respectively,which are m.ch shorter than the film.thickness of^2.1μ*** Co-Pi treatm.nt also increasedηoxfrom.0.86 to^1,which is the m.1} reason for the overall perform.nce enhancem.nt caused by adding *** findings suggest that there is little scope for im.roving the perform.nce of SILAR-deposited BiVO4 photoanodes by further catalyzing water oxidation,but enhanced perform.nce is achievable if electron transport can be im.roved.
