Introduction: One of the most frequent observations in long-term blood donation is chronic iron deficiency, which can develop into anaemia. The majority of blood screening methods employed by blood banks do not incorporate iron-status markers, which may result in potential subclinical iron deficiency. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of repeated blood donation on the levels of iron in the body and to guide blood donors in preventing the depletion of iron stores. Methods: Regular blood donors were categorised into distinct groups according to the number of donations they gave, and then the correlation between these groups and their bodies’ iron levels was examined. Different parameters were employed to identify iron deficiency and iron depletion in blood donors: serum ferritin, mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular haemoglobin (MCH), mean corpuscular haemoglobin concentration (MCHC), total iron-binding capacity (TIBC), and serum iron. Results: The study included 300 individuals who regularly and willingly donated blood. There were no iron insufficiency cases among those donating blood for the first time (Group I). However, 15.5% of individuals who had donated once before (Group II) had ferritin levels of 15 - 30 μg/dl (ng/ml), indicating reduced iron stores. The rate increased to 18% (37 out of 206 individuals) among regular blood donors (Groups III, IV, and V). Iron deficiency (depletion) prevalence among regular blood donors in Groups III, IV, and V was 5.9% (12 out of 206) and 50.4% (100 out of 206). Donors who had donated blood most frequently had the lowest levels of haematological markers MCH, MCHC, and TIBC. Background: While blood product transfusion is essential for managing hematologic deficits in Allogenic Hematopoietic stem cell transplant (AHSCT) recipients, it has risks including infectious disease transmission, alloimmunization, and transfusion reactions. These risks have sparked an ongoing debate regarding the overall impact of transfusions on patient outcomes. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the impact of Red Blood Cells (RBCs) and/or platelet transfusion on the infection incidence and overall survival in AHSCT patients. Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of clinical and laboratory data of sixty adult patients with primary malignant hematological disorder who had undergone AHSCT. Participants’ data were categorized into two groups;Group 1 (low transfusion group) consisted of patients receiving 10 units. Quantitative data were expressed as mean ± SD. The t-test of significance and Chi-square (χ2) test were used, with p ≤ 0.05 considered significant. Result: A total of 60 patients’ data was included. In Group 1, out of 30 patients, 13 (43.33%) developed infections. In contrast, Group 2 had 21 (70%) out of 30 patients develop infections. Group 1 had a higher survival rate (57.8%) than Group 2 (transfusion > 10 units) (46.2%) with a chi-square value = 23.56, and p-value Conclusion: The volume of blood product transfusions has a considerable impact on patient outcomes, particularly infection and survival rates. Additional long-term prospective studies and larger randomized controlled trials are needed to strengthen the evidence for determining transfusion protocols for these patients.

This paper for the first time improved a Robust Multi-Output machine learning regression model for seismic hazard zoning of Turkey, Iraq and Iran using constructed 3-D shear-wave velocity(Vs), seismic tomography dataset model for the crust and uppermost mantle beneath the study area. The focus of this paper’s opportunity is to develop a scientific framework leveraging machine learning that will ultimately provide the rapid and more complete characterization of earthquake properties. This work can be targeted at improving the seismic hazard zones system ability to detect and associate seismic signals, or at estimating other seismic characteristics(crust acceleration and crust energy) while traditionally, methods cannot monitor the earthquakes system. This work has derived some physical equations for extraction of many variables as inputs for our developed machine learning model based on a reliable understanding of the tomography data to physical variables by preparing huge dataset from different physical conditions of crust. We have extracted the velocity values of the shear waves from the original NETCDF file, which contains the S velocity values for every one km of the depths of the crust for the study area from one km down to the uppermost mantle beneath the Middle East. For the first time, this study calculated new seismic hazard parameter called Peak Crust Acceleration(PCA) for seismic hazard analysis by considering the transmitted initial seismic energy through the Earthy wrote in python language ’s crust layers from hypocenter. All machine learning algorithms in this studusing anaconda platform the open-source Individual Edition(Distribution).

Background: Early excision and grafting has been the preferred method of managing major burns around the world since 1970. Considering the advances in health care and the development of new antibiotics over the past 50 years, delayed grafting as a technique for the management of burns over 15%-20% of total body surface area (TBSA) could have comparable results to that of early excision. This study aims to highlight the outcomes of practicing delayed grafting in burn patients. Methods: A case series analysis was performed of 51 patients who were admitted to the burns unit in Sultan Qaboos Hospital Salalah with over 20% TBSA between January 2014 and December 2019. The patients received prophylactic antibiotics and silver sulphadiazine dressing until the burn eschar had completely separated, followed by grafting. Results: Two patients were lost during the entire duration of the study. The mortality rate was comparable to that of early excision, while the rate of hypertrophic scarring was lower than the range reported by other studies. Conclusion: In the management of patients with over 20% TBSA, delayed grafting after complete separation of eschar is still a valid technique.
