Combustion mechanism of benzene in iron ore sintering process:experimental and simulation

Benzene is a typical component of volatile organic compounds(VOCs)in the iron ore sintering flue *** combustion behavior of benzene directly affects the emission of VOCs in iron ore sintering *** effects of temperature,benzene,and oxygen concentrations on the conversion ratio of benzene were investigated by experiments and numerical *** experiments were carried out in a tube reactor at temperatures of 773-1098 k,benzene concentrations of 0.01-0.03 vol.%,and oxygen concentrations of 10-21 vol.%.The numerical simulation was performed with the plug flow model in the CHEMkIN program based on a kinetic model that consists of 132 chemical species and 772 elementary step-like *** experimental results reveal that increasing the temperature and benzene concentration could signifi-cantly promote benzene *** is attributed to the increase in the reaction rates of all steps in the pathway for forming CO_(2)and H_(2)*** addition,due to the large equivalent ratio of oxygen to benzene,the conversion ratio of benzene remained constant at different oxygen *** simulation results were in good agreement with the experimental results and indicated that six elementary reactions dominated the formations of CO_(2)and H_(2)*** oxidations of C_(6)H_(5)O,CO,and C_(5)H_(4)O intermediates to CO_(2)were the limiting steps in the reaction pathways.

By using 6,6-((sulfonylbis(4,1-phenylene)bis(azanediyl))bis(thiophen-2-ylm-ethylene))bis6H-di-benzo[c,e][1,2]oxaphosphinine 6-oxide(DOPO-N)as phosphorus-nitrogen flame retardant,the polyurea(PUA)with flame retardant properties(PUA/DOPO-N)was *** addition,organically modified montmorillonite(OMMT)and magnesium hydroxide(MH)were used as co-effectors respectively,and the flame retardant PUA(PUA/DOPO-N/OMMT and PUA/DOPO-N/MH)were also *** properties,flame retardant properties,flame retardant mechanism and mechanical properties of PUA/DOPO-N,PUA/DOPO-N/OMMT and PUA/DOPO-N/MH were investigated by thermogravimetric(TG)analysis,limiting oxygen index(LOI),UL 94,cone calorimeter test,scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and tensile *** results show that the LOI value of PUA/20%DOPO-N,PUA/18%DOPO-N/2%OMMT and PUA/15%DOPO-N/5%MH are 27.1%,27.7%,and 28.3%,respectively,and UL 94 V-0 rating is *** with PUA,the peak heat release rate(pk-HRR),total heat release(THR)and average effective heat combustion(av-EHC)of PUA/20%DOPO-N,PUA/18%DOPO-N/2%OMMT and PUA/15%DOPO-N/5%MH decrease *** results indicate that the residual chars of PUA/20%DOPO-N,PUA/18%DOPO-N/2%OMMT and PUA/15%DOPO-N/5%MH are completer and more *** complex of DOPO-N/OMMT and DOPO-N/MH have synergistic flame *** mechanical properties of PUA can be improved by the addition of DOPO-N,DOPO-N/OMMT and DOPO-N/MH,*** insulation performance test shows that the volume resistivity of PUA/20%DOPO-N is 6.25×10^(16)Ω.***,by using modified boron nitride(MBN)as heat dissipating material,the complex of PUA/MBN was prepared,and the thermal conductivity of PUA/MBN was *** thermal conductivity of PUA/8%MBN complex coating at room temperature is 0.166 W/(M·k),which is a 163%improvement over pure PUA.

Hematite(α-Fe_(2)O_(3))is known to undergo conversion from weak ferromagnetic to antiferromagnetic as the temperature decreases below the Morin temperature(TM=250 k)due to spin moment rotation occurring during the Morin transition(MT).Herein,we endowed hematite with mesostructured chirality to maintain weak ferromagnetism without *** mesostructured hematite(CMH)nanoparticles were prepared by a hydrothermal method with glutamic acid(Glu)as the symmetry-breaking *** triangular bipyramidal CMH nanoparticles were composed of helically cleaved nanoflakes with twisted crystal ***-cooled(FC)magnetization measurements showed that the magnetic moments of CMH were stabilized without MT within the temperature range of 10–300 *** loop measurements confirmed the weak ferromagnetism of *** enhanced Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction(DMI)was speculated to be responsible for the temperature-independent weak ferromagnetism,in which the spin configuration would be confined with canted antiferromagnetic coupling due to the mesostructured chirality of CMH.

Inspired by the excellent stability exhibited by experimentally synthesized two-dimensional(2D)MoSi_(2)N_(4) layered material,the thermal and electronic transport,and thermoelectric(TE)properties of MgAl2Te4 monolayer are systematically investigated using the First-principles calculations and Boltzmann transport *** mechanical stability,dynamic stability,and thermal stability(900 k)of the MgAl_(2)Te_(4) monolayer are demonstrated,*** MgAl_(2)Te_(4) monolayer exhibits a bandgap of 1.35 eV using the HSE06 functional in combination with spin-orbit coupling(SOC)*** convergence in the valence band is favorable to improve the thermoelectric *** rattling thermal damping effect caused by the weak bonding of Mgsingle bondTe bonds in MgAl2Te4 monolayer leads to ultra-low lattice thermal conductivity(0.95/0.38 W/(m·k)@300 k along the x-/y-direction),which is further demonstrated by the phonon group velocities,phonon relaxation time,Grüneisen parameters,and scattering *** optimal zT of 3.28 at 900 k is achieved for the p-type MgAl_(2)Te_(4) monolayer,showing the great promising prospect for the excellent p-type thermoelectric *** current work not only reveals the underlying mechanisms responsible for the excellent TE properties,but also elaborates on the promising thermoelectric application of MgAl_(2)Te_(4) monolayer material at high temperature.

Aqueous-phase reforming(APR)is an attractive process to produce bio-based hydrogen from waste biomass streams,during which the catalyst stability is often challenged due to the harsh reaction *** this work,three Pt-based catalysts supported on C,AlO(OH),and ZrO_(2)were investigated for the APR of hydroxyacetone solution in afixed bed reactor at 225℃and 35 *** them,the Pt/C catalyst showed the highest turnover frequency for H_(2)production(TOF of 8.9 molH_(2)molPt^(-1)min^(-1))and the longest catalyst *** the AlO(OH)and ZrO_(2)supported Pt catalysts,the side reactions consuming H_(2),formation of coke,and Pt sintering result in a low H_(2)production and the fast catalyst *** proposed reaction pathways suggest that a promising APR catalyst should reform all oxygenates in the aqueous phase,minimize the hydrogenation of the oxygenates,maximize the WGS reaction,and inhibit the condensation and coking reactions for maximizing the hydrogen yield and a stable catalytic performance.

This study investigates resilient platoon control for constrained intelligent and connected vehicles(ICVs)against F-local Byzantine *** introduce a resilient distributed model-predictive platooning control framework for such *** framework seamlessly integrates the predesigned optimal control with distributed model predictive control(DMPC)optimization and introduces a unique distributed attack detector to ensure the reliability of the transmitted information among ***,our strategy uses previously broadcasted information and a specialized convex set,termed the“resilience set”,to identify unreliable *** approach significantly eases graph robustness prerequisites,requiring only an(F+1)-robust graph,in contrast to the established mean sequence reduced algorithms,which require a minimum(2F+1)-robust ***,we introduce a verification algorithm to restore trust in vehicles under minor attacks,further reducing communication network *** analysis demonstrates the recursive feasibility of the DMPC ***,the proposed method achieves exceptional control performance by minimizing the discrepancies between the DMPC control inputs and predesigned platoon control inputs,while ensuring constraint compliance and *** results verify the effectiveness of our theoretical findings.

The crystallization behavior of silica-filled polydimethylsiloxane （PDMS） was investigated in detail by1H solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance （1H SS-NMR） in combination with synchrotron radiation wide-angle X-ray scattering （WAXS）,and temperature-modulated differential scanning calorimetry （TMDSC） *** neat PDMS,no apparent difference is observed for the crystallinity characterized by1H SS-NMR and WAXS at low-temperature ***,upon filler addition,a 15%-35%lower difference in crystallinity is observed measured by1H SS-NMR compared to *** origin of such mismatch was explored through multi-component structural,dynamics,and chain-order analysis of PDMS samples with different filler *** 1D integrated WAXS results of PDMS with different filler fractions at different temperatures show that the packing structure as well as crystal size basically remain unchanged,but as the filler fraction increases from 0 phr to 60 phr,the rigid component’s dynamics order parameter Srobtained by1H SS-NMR decreases from 0.70 to *** filler fraction-dependent crystallinity calculated based on Srwas compared with experimental values,revealing a behavior of decreasing order in the crystalline *** with the results of accelerated chain dynamics in crystalline region as reflected by T2values,the molecular origin is attributed to the formation of CONDIS crystals,whose conformational order is lost but the position and orientation orders are *** hypothesis is further supported by the TMDSC results,where,as the filler fraction increases from 0 phr to 60 phr,the melting range widens from 8.77 k to 14.56 k,representing a growth of166%.In addition to previous reports related to the condition for forming CONDIS mesophase,i.e.,temperature,pressure,and stretching,the nano-sized filler could also introduce the local conformational disorder for chain packing.
