Objective and Impact *** is a need to develop platforms delineating inflammatory biology of the distal human *** describe a platform technology approach to detect in situ enzyme activity and observe drug inhibition in the distal human lung using a combination of matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)optical reporters,fibered confocal fluorescence microscopy(FCFM),and a bespoke delivery *** development of new therapeutic agents is hindered by the lack of in vivo in situ experimental methodologies that can rapidly evaluate the biological activity or drug-target engagement in *** optimised a novel highly quenched optical molecular reporter of enzyme activity(FIB One)and developed a translational pathway for in-human *** demonstrate the specificity for matrix metalloproteases(MMPs)2,9,and 13 and probe dequenching within physiological levels of MMPs and feasibility of imaging within whole lung models in preclinical ***,in a first-in-human exploratory experimental medicine study of patients with fibroproliferative lung disease,we demonstrate,through FCFM,the MMP activity in the alveolar space measured through FIB One fluorescence increase(with pharmacological inhibition).*** translational in situ approach enables a new methodology to demonstrate active drug target effects of the distal lung and consequently may inform therapeutic drug development pathways.

PP-rings of Generalized Power Series

As a generalization of power series rings, ribenboim introduced the notion of the rings of generalized power series. Let r be a commutative ring, and （S.≤） a strictly totally ordered monoid. We prove that （1） the ring [[r(S.≤]] of generalized power series is a PP-ring if and only if r is a PP-ring and every S-indexed subset C of B（r）（the set of all idempotents of r） has a least upper bound in B（r）. and （2） if （S. ≤） also satisfies the condition that 0≤s for any s∈S, then the ring [[r(S.≤]] is weakly PP if and only if r is weakly PP.

Transition Metal Oxides have drawn significant attention due to their reversible chemical redox reaction and long-life *** agglomeration and shrinkage/expansion of transition metal oxides in the nanosize regime have a noticeable effect on their electrochemical *** in this work,mesoporous nanowires(NWs)with a typical composition of iron-nickel-cobalt ternary oxide(FNCO)are synthesized using a simple,facile and cost-effective hydrothermal process followed by furnace *** NWs are then extensively investigated as an electrode material for supercapacitor *** compare the electrochemical properties,nanowires of nickel-cobalt oxide(NCO),iron-cobalt oxide(FCO)and cobalt oxide(CO)were also produced by following the same *** FNCO NWs are found to overcome the shortcomings in the electrochemical energy storage devices by exhibiting higher values of specific capacitance(2197 Fg^(-1))and energy density(109 Whkg^(-1))at 1 Ag^(-1) current ***,the FNCO NWs also showed a cyclic charge/discharge stability of 96%even up to 20,000 ***,a FNCO//graphene asymmetric device,fabricated with FNCO NWs and graphene as positive and negative electrodes,respectively,which exhibit high energy density(47 Whkg^(-1)),power density(375 Wkg^(-1))and excellent capacitance retention(86%)after 15,000 cycles.

Ionotropic receptors mediate olfactory learning and memory in Drosophila

Phenylacetaldehyde(PAH),an aromatic compound,is present in a diverse range of fruits including overripe bananas and prickly pear cactus,the two major host fruits for Drosophila *** acts as a potent ligand for the ionotropic receptor 84a(Ir84a)in the adult fruit fly and it is detected by the Ir84a/Ir8a heterotetrameric *** role in the male courtship behavior through Ir84a as an environmental aphrodisiac is of additional *** ***,two distinct kinds of olfactory receptors,that is,odorant receptors(Ors)and ionotropic receptors(Irs),perceive the odorant *** display unique structural,molecular,and functional characteristics in addition to having different evolutionary ***,olfactory cues detected by the Ors such as ethyl acetate,1-butanol,isoamyl acetate,1-octanol,4-methylcyclohexanol,*** as aliphatic esters and alcohols have been employed in olfactory classical conditioning using fruit *** underlines the participation of Or-activated olfactory pathways in learning and memory *** study elucidates that likewise ethyl acetate(EA)(an Or-responsive odorant),PAH(an Ir-responsive aromatic compound)too can form learning and memory when associated with an appetitive gustatory *** association of PAH with sucrose(PAH/SUC)led to learning and formation of the long-term memory(LTM).Additionally,the Orco^(1),Ir84a^(MI00501),and Ir8a^(1)mutant flies were used to confirm the exclusive participation of the Ir84a/Ir8a complex in PAH/SUC olfactory associative *** results highlight the involvement of Irs via an Ir-activated pathway in facilitating robust olfactory behavior.

Temperature-controlled fabrication of hydrophilic manganese oxide microspheres as high-performance electrode materials for supercapacitors

The supercapacitive properties of manganese oxides(MnO_(x))are strongly affected by their crystal ***,the relationship between the crystal structure and supercapacitive performance of Mn O_(x)is ***,a temperature-controlled fabrication method was developed to achieve MnO_(2),Mn_(3)O_(4),MnO and Mn_(2)O_(3)microspheres with various crystal structure as electrode materials tunable for *** detailed material and electrochemical characterizations revealed the structureactivity relationship of Mn O_(x)microspheres by systematically investigating the effect of valence state,specific surface area,conductivity and morphology on supercapacitive *** these MnO_(x)materials,nanoneedle-like Mn O_(2)delivered a relatively high specific capacitance of 274.1 F/g at 1 A/g due to a high Mn valence state of+4,a large specific surface area of 113.4 m^(2)/g and a desirable electronic conductivity of 1.73×10^(-5)S/***,MnO_(2)presented a remarkable cycle stability with 115%capacitance retention after 10,000 cycles owing to the enhancement of *** work not only provides a facile strategy to modulate MnO_(x)crystal structure,but also offers a deep understanding of structure-dependent supercapacitive performance of MnO_(x).

Bimetallic additively manufactured structures(BAMSs)can replace traditionally-fabricated functionallygraded-components through fusion welding processes and can eliminate locally-deteriorated mechanical properties arising from *** present work fabricates a BAMS by sequentially depositing the austenitic stainless-steel and Inconel625 using a gas-metal-arc-welding(GMAW)-based wire+arc additive manufacturing(WAAM)*** mapping shows a smooth compositional transition at the interface without any *** materials being the face-center-cubic(FCC)austenite,the electron backscattered diffraction(EBSD)analysis of the interface shows the smooth and cross-interfacecrystallographic growth of long-elongated grains in the*** hardness values were within the range of 220-240 HV for both materials without a large deviation at the *** to the controlled thermal history,mechanical testing yielded a consistent result with the ultimate tensile strength and elongation of 600 MPa and 40%,respectively,with the failure location on the stainless-steel *** study demonstrates that WAAM has the potential to fabricate BAMS with controlled properties.

Owing to technological developments,Medical image analysis has received considerable attention in the rapid detection and classification of *** brain is an essential organ in *** tumors cause loss of memory,vision,and *** 2020,approximately 18,020 deaths occurred due to brain *** cases can be minimized if a brain tumor is diagnosed at a very early *** vision researchers have introduced several techniques for brain tumor detection and ***,owing to many factors,this is still a challenging *** challenges relate to the tumor size,the shape of a tumor,location of the tumor,selection of important features,among *** this study,we proposed a framework for multimodal brain tumor classification using an ensemble of optimal deep learning *** the proposed framework,initially,a database is normalized in the form of high-grade glioma(HGG)and low-grade glioma(LGG)patients and then two pre-trained deep learning models(resNet50 and Densenet201)are *** deep learning models were modified and trained using transfer ***,the enhanced ant colony optimization algorithm is proposed for best feature selection from both deep *** selected features are fused using a serial-based approach and classified using a cubic support vector *** experimental process was conducted on the BraTs2019 dataset and achieved accuracies of 87.8%and 84.6%for HGG and LGG,*** comparison is performed using several classification methods,and it shows the significance of our proposed technique.

Sleep Posture Classification Using rGB and Thermal Cameras Based on Deep Learning Model

Sleep posture surveillance is crucial for patient comfort,yet current systems face difficulties in providing compre-hensive studies due to the obstruction caused by *** posture assessment remains challenging because of the complex nature of the human body and variations in sleep ***,this study introduces an innovative method utilizing rGB and thermal cameras for comprehensive posture classification,thereby enhancing the analysis of body position and *** method begins by capturing a dataset of sleep postures in the form of videos using rGB and thermal cameras,which depict six commonly adopted postures:supine,left log,right log,prone head,prone left,and prone *** study involves 10 participants under two conditions:with and without ***,the database is normalized into a video *** subsequent step entails training a fine-tuned,pretrained Visual Geometry Group(VGG16)and resNet50 *** the third phase,the extracted features are utilized for *** fourth step of the proposed approach employs a serial fusion technique based on the normal distribution to merge the vectors derived from both the rGB and thermal ***,the fused vectors are passed to machine learning classifiers for final *** dataset,which includes human sleep postures used in this study’s experiments,achieved a 96.7%accuracy rate using the Quadratic Support Vector Machine(QSVM)without the ***,the Linear SVM,when utilized with a blanket,attained an accuracy of 96%.When normal distribution serial fusion was applied to the blanket features,it resulted in a remarkable average accuracy of 99%.
