In this work,conducting composites of nanocellulose(NC)/polypyrrole nanoparticles(NPPy)and silver nanoparticles(AgNPs),i.e.,NC/NPPyAg,were synthesized for the first time,to the best of our knowledge,via in situ emulsion polymerization of pyrrole in the presence of surfactant *** AgNPs acted as an oxidizing agent to simultaneously incorporate nanoparticles into the prepared *** structures and morphologies of the prepared composites were studied using Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction(XRD),UV-Vis Spectra,thermogravimetric analysis(TGA),and scanning and transmission electron microscopy(SEm and TEm)***,the prepared composites were characterized by their conductivities,and the dielectric constants(e΄),dielectric losses(e˝),and AC conductivities were studied for the prepared composites with an increasing NPPy content as a function of the frequency.

AIm： To investigate whether the degree of rectal distension could define the rectum functions as a conduit mETHODS： Response of the rectal and anal pressure to 2 types of rectal balloon distension, rapid voluminous and slow gradual distention, was recorded in 21 healthy volunteers （12 men, 9 women, age 41.7 ± 10.6 years）. The test was repeated with sphincteric squeeze on urgent sensation. RESULTS： Rapid voluminous rectal distension resulted in a significant rectal pressure increase （P 〈 0.001）, an anal pressure decline （P 〈 0.05） and balloon expulsion. The subjects felt urgent sensation but did not feel the 1^st rectal sensation. On urgent sensation, anal squeeze caused a significant rectal pressure decrease （P 〈 0.001） and urgency disappearance. Slow incremental rectal filling drew a rectometrogram with a ＂tone＂ limb representing a gradual rectal pressure increase during rectal filling, and an ＂evacuation limb＂ representing a sharp pressure increase during balloon expulsion. The curve recorded both the ist rectal sensation and the urgent sensation. CONCLUSION： The rectum has apparently two functions： transportation （conduit） and storage, both depending on the degree of rectal filling. If the fecal material received by the rectum is small, it is stored in the rectum until a big volume is reached that can affect a degree of rectal distension sufficient to initiate the defecation reflex. Large volume rectal distension evokes directly the rectoanal inhibitory reflex with a resulting defecation.

The cementation reaction of copper on zinc metal in solutions of different concentrations ofcopper sulphate, at 25℃, has been studied and it is found to be a first order reaction. moreover,the rates of this reaction at 0.15 mol'L-1 copper sulphate solution have been measured in a varietyof ethanol-water media at temperatures from 20℃ to 40℃. The correlation between the masstransfer coefficient and the dielectric constant has been investigated. Also, the thermodynamicparameters of activation have been calculated. The isokinetic relationship reveals the existenceof compensation effect, where the solute-solvent interactions play an important role.

Gemcitabine and Docetaxel as a Second-Line Treatment in Advanced Soft Tissue Sarcomas

OBJECTIVE Promising anti-tumor activity in patients with metastatic or unresectable soft tissue sarcomas has been reported with gemcitabine and/or docetaxel. mETHODS Forty patients with advanced soft tissue sarcomas refractory to first-line chemotherapy treatment were enrolled. They received combination of gemcitabine at dose of 900 mg/m2 on days 1 and 8 and docetaxel at dose of 100 mg/m2 on day 8, and had this regimen repeated every 3 weeks. If the patients had received the pelvic irradiation in advance, gemcitabine dose was reduced to 675 mg/m2 on days 1 and 8 and docetaxel to 75 mg/m2 on day 8, and had it repeated every 3 weeks. RESULTS Gemcitabine/docetaxel combination was well tolerated by the patients with an overall response of 20%. After median follow-up of 15 months, a median overall survival time was 12 months （95% CI 7.042-16.958） and a median progression free survival time was 6 months （95% CI 5.445-6.545）. The most common hematologic toxicity was neutropenia （47.5%） while mucositis was the most common nonhematologic toxicity （45%）. The 1- and 2- year survival rates were 50% and 15%, respectively. CONCLUSION This regimen of gemcitabine/docetaxel combination as second-line treatment for the patients with advanced soft tissue sarcomas is effective with acceptable toxicities. These results should be evaluated in a large phase III trial.

Cupping （Hijama in Arabic） is an ancient, holistic method for the treatment of a variety of diseases. Though the exact origin of cupping therapy is a matter of controversy, its use has been documented in early Egyptian and Chinese medical practices. Diverse human civilizations have contributed to the historical development and continuation of cupping therapy. This narrative review describes the history of cupping, historical definitions, cupping instruments and uses of cupping therapy. Electronic searches of relevant databases （Pubmed, Google Scholar and OvidSP） were conducted using keywords and Boolean operators. manual searches and references of published articles and books were also conducted. A number of articles （N = 625） were retained for extensive review, and finally 83 articles were included in this paper. The historical descriptions of cupping therapy were found in ancient human civilizations of the Eastern and Western world. There were inconsistent data concerning the origin of cupping, definitions, instruments, procedures, definite advancements and research in Hijama over centuries. Cupping therapy fell out of favor in 17th and mid-18th centuries but recovered popularity in modem medicine. Currently, cupping therapy is used for health promotion, prophylaxis and treatment of a variety of diseases around the world. Cupping therapy with a good safety profile has a checkered history and is a well-recognized traditional method for managing medical conditions. Currently, the scope of cupping therapy is expanding, and a growing body of research is providing additional evidence-based data for the further advancement of cupping therapy in the treatment of a variety of diseases.

This paper represents the interaction of well characterized Lewis base [（Pyr）nCuX]4O2, n = 1 or 2, X = Cl, Br or I, Pyr = pyrrolidine with CO2 as a Lewis acid to produce new series of oxidative coupling and catechol oxidase initiators [（Pyr）nCuX]4（CO3）2. These carbonato derivatives are isolated as stable solids. They are easily soluble in aprotic solvents as CH2Cl2 or PhNO2. Cryoscopic measurements support tetranuclear core structure for all of them. Infrared spectra show differences from their oxo analogous in the carbonato domains but those differences did not distinguish between tridentate bridging carbonato and bidentate one. Rate of oxidation of 2,6-dimethylphenol （DmP） by [（Pyr）CuCl]4（CO3）2, supports coordination number six for Cu（Ⅱ） centers in [（Pyr）CuCl]4（CO3）2. In order to fulfill coordination number six, for n = 1, carbonate will act as tridentate while for n = 2, it will act as bidentate, as shown in Scheme 4. Near infrared spectra indicate a [（3 halo） Cu（Ⅱ） charge transfer] for [（Pyr）nCuX]4（CO3）2, n = 1 or 2, X = Cl or Br. Low molecular absorptivities of the maxima at 825 nm and 730 nm for [（Pyr）nCuI]4（CO3）2, n = 1 or 2 with a minimum of high molecular absorptivities at 600 nm, comparing to X= CI or Br analogous, support a step structure for [（Pyr）,Cul]4（CO3）2, as shown in Scheme 5. Cyclic voltammograms for [（Pyr）nCuX]4（CO3）2; n = 1 or 2, X = CI or Br, are irreversible in characters.
