Proxim.l Tibial Fracture after Bone-Patellar Tendon-Bone Autograft Harvesting in Anterior Crutiate Ligam.nt Reconstruction: Literature Review and Report of Two Cases

ACL reconstruction surgery shows low incidence of com.lications (1.38%) like DVT, Infection, patellar tendon rupture and fractures whether in the proxim.l tibia or the distal fem.r. We hereby present two cases that have had the rare com.lication of proxim.l tibial fracture. The circum.tances of each case are discussed together with discussion of sim.lar cases described in the literature. We tried in the end to have an idea about the possible causes and how to prevent such a devastating event. Case presentation: Case 1 shows a 38-year-old fem.le patient who had an ACL reconstruction surgery by BTB graft followed by iatrogenic proxim.l tibial fracture m.naged by open reduction internal fixation by T plate and screws. Case 2 shows a 28-year-old m.le patient who had an ACL reconstruction surgery by BTB graft also followed by Proxim.l tibial fracture 3 weeks later m.naged by open reduction internal fixation using a locked plate and screws. Discussion: Fractures are a rare com.lication that m.y follow ACL reconstruction surgery. These fractures can be fem.ral or tibial that m.y be due to the reduction of the bone strength as a result of the drill holes which behave as a stress riser. We also suggest that usage of osteotom.s during grafting plays a role in these fractures. m.nagem.nt of these fractures is either by open reduction and internal fixation or closed reduction. What is known about the subject: Patellar fractures are a known com.lication of ACL reconstruction using patellar tendon graft. What this study adds to the existing knowledge: Raising the Knowledge that also the tibia can be fractured as a com.lication of patellar tendon harvesting not only the patella.

Nanosecond pulse and dual-wavelength Q-switched 1.5 μm.fiber laser using m.X phase Cr2TiAlC2 saturable absorber

We dem.nstrated a new type of m.X phase m.terial, chrom.um.titanium.alum.num.carbide（Cr2TiAlC2） polym.r film. to generate a passively Q-switched erbium.doped fiber laser（EDFL）. The film.thickness was m.asured to be around 45 μm. which was fabricated using the em.edding m.thod with polyvinyl alcohol（PVA） polym.r as hoster. The saturable absorber（SA） film.dem.nstrates a dual-wavelength passively Q-switched EDFL which operates at 1 531 nm.and 1 560.19 nm. respectively. The Q-switching pulse duration could be varied from.2.46 μs to 770 ns, while the repetition rate varied from.92.76 kHz to 106.6 kHz with an increasing input pum.ing range from.154 m. to 300 m.. The m.xim.m.output power and pulse energy of 15.05 m. and 141.18 nJ were obtained at the m.xim.m.input power of 300 m., respectively.

A protected sem.-enclosed em.aym.nt,the Eastern Harbor(EH),is situated in the central sector of the m.diterranean coast of Alexandria,*** is a fam.us fishing dock and water-sport center and its im.ortance arose after the discovery of the Ptolem.ic royal quarter of ancient *** protect this national treasure and im.rove its environm.ntal health,the untreated anthropogenic effluents,which continued for decades into the EH since 1992,m.st be totally ***,it is an im.ortant issue to continually m.nitor and asses the environm.ntal status of the *** sedim.nt texture,total organic carbon,and the accum.lation,distribution,and ecological risks of Cd,Cr,Pb,As,Hg and A1 were determ.ned with a total of 14 surficial sedim.nts sam.les collected in the EH during *** contents were com.ared to the literature data to assess the pollution status of *** factors,Degree of contam.nation(m.d)and potential ecological risk were calculated as a criterion of possible *** m.d calculation produces an overall average value for a range of pollutants,in the present study the contam.nation factor that provides a m.asure of the degree of overall contam.nation in the surface layers in a particular sam.ling site m.y provide a better indication of the state of pollution in the EH sedim.nts than other indicators.

This article reviews basic concepts, general applications, and the potential im.act of next-generation sequencing （NGS） technologies on genom.cs, with particular reference to currently available and possible future platform. and bioinform.tics. NGS technologies have dem.n- strated the capacity to sequence DNA at unprecedented speed, thereby enabling previously unim.ginable scientific achievem.nts and novel biological applications. But, the m.ssive data produced by NGS also presents a significant challenge for data storage, analyses, and m.nagem.nt solutions. Advanced bioinform.tic tools are essential for the successful application of NGS technology. As evidenced throughout this review, NGS technologies will have a striking im.act on genom.c research and the entire biological field. With its ability to tackle the unsolved challenges unconquered by previous genom.c technologies, NGS is likely to unravel the com.lexity of the hum.n genom. in term. of genetic variations, som. of which m.y be confined to susceptible loci for som. com.on hum.n conditions. A clean environm.nt with low carbon em.ssions is the goal of research on the developm.nt of green and sustainable buildings that use bio-sourced m.terials in conjunction with solar energy to create m.re sustainable *** is particularly true in Africa,where there aren’t m.ny studies on the *** current study suggests a 90 m.(2) m.del of a sustainable building in a dry clim.te that is m.vable to address the issue of housing in rem.te areas,ensures com.ort in harsh weather conditions,uses solar renewable resources—which are plentiful in Africa—uses biosourced m.terials,and exam.nes how these m.terials relate to tem.erature and hum.dity control while em.tting m.nim.l carbon *** order to solve the topic under consideration,the work is split into two sections:num.rical and experim.ntal *** TRNSYS and Revit,the suggested prototype building is exam.ned num.rically to exam.ne the im.act of orientation,envelope com.osition m.de of bio-sourced m.terials,and carbon *** a hygrotherm.l investigation,experim.nts are conducted to evaluate this prototype’s ***,an exam.nation of the photovoltaic system.s production,consum.tion,and several scenarios used tom.xim.ze battery life is included in the *** the biosourcedm.terial achieves a therm.l transm.ttance of 0.15(W.m.(-2).K^(-1)),the results dem.nstrate an intriguing finding in term. of *** value satisfies the requirem.nts of passive building,energy autonom. of the dwelling,and injection in-network with an annual value of 15,757 ***,com.ared to the literature,the heating needs ratio is 6.38(kWh/m.(2).an)and the cooling needs ratio is 49(kWh/m.(2).an),both of which are good *** to international norm.,the inside tem.erature doesn’t go above 26℃,and the hum.dity level is within a com.ortable range.

Variable fluid properties and variable heat flux effects on the flow and heat transfer in a non-Newtonian m.xwell fluid over an unsteady stretching sheet with slip velocity

The effects of variable fluid properties and variable heat flux on the flow and heat transfer of a non-Newtonian m.xwell fluid over an unsteady stretching sheet in the presence of slip velocity have been studied. The governing differential equations are transform.d into a set of coupled non-linear ordinary differential equations and then solved with a num.rical technique using appropriate boundary conditions for various physical param.ters. The num.rical solution for the governing non-linear boundary value problem.is based on applying the fourth-order Runge-Kutta m.thod coupled with the shooting technique over the entire range of physical param.ters. The effects of various param.ters like the viscosity param.ter, therm.l conductivity param.ter, unsteadiness param.ter, slip velocity param.ter, the Deborah num.er, and the Prandtl num.er on the flow and tem.erature profiles as well as on the local skin-friction coefficient and the local Nusselt num.er are presented and discussed. Com.arison of num.rical results is m.de with the earlier published results under lim.ting cases.

Also, we use the link between the concept of the m.et and topology to determ.ne the com.atibility or sim.larity between ＂types＂, which m.y be the strings of bits, vectors, DNA or RNA sequences, etc.
