Garden pea productivity and qualities are hampered in zinc(Zn),boron(B),and molybdenum(Mo)deficient ***,the combination of micronutrients(i.e.,Zn,B,and Mo)and rhizobium is necessary to increase the productivity and quality of garden peas,since this management for garden peas is neglected in ***,the present study was made to assess the effectiveness of rhizobium inoculant singly or in combination with the micronutrients(i.e.,Zn,B,and Mo)on growth,yield,nutrient uptake,and quality of garden *** were:T_(1)=Control,T_(2)=Rhizobium inoculation at 50 g/kg seed,T_(3)=T_(2)+Zn_(3)Mo1,T_(4)=T_(2)+B_(2)Mo1,T_(5)=T_(2)+Zn_(3)B_(2),T_(6)=T_(2)+Zn_(3)B_(2)Mo1 and T_(7)=Zn_(3)B_(2)*** treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design and repeated all treatments in three *** application of 3 kg Zn,2 kg B,and 1 kg Mo ha^(−1)with inoculation of Rhizobium at 50 g kg^(−1)seed(T_(6))facilitated to increase of 44.8%in the green pod and 29.7%seed yield over *** same treatment contributed to attaining the maximum nodulation(25.3 plant^(−1)),Vitamin C(43.5 mg 100 g^(−1)),protein content(22.2%),and nutrient uptake as well as accumulation in garden *** all treatment combinations,treatment T_(6)was found superior to others based on microbial activities,soil fertility,and *** results of the study found that the application of 3 kg Zn,2 kg B,and 1 kg Mo ha^(−1)in combination with Rhizobium inoculation(50 g kg^(−1)seed)can improve the yield and quality of garden *** results of the study have the potential for the areas,where there is no use of Rhizobium inoculant or Zn,B,and Mo fertilizer for cultivation of garden pea.

Ensuring food security for the rapidly increasing population and changing climatic scenarios are requisites for exploiting the genetic divergence of food crops.A study was undertaken to sort out an early maturing chickpea variety for fitting easily between rice-rice cropping systems in the Eastern Indo-Gangetic Plain of *** trial was comprised of eight elite lines of chickpea and executed at various localities in Bangladesh from 2014–15 to 2017–*** result explored the chickpea genotype,BARI Chola-11 remained superior to the rest of the elite genotypes for having a short maturity period(100–106 days),and lesser days to 50%flowering(47–55 days).The same genotype was recorded to have robust vegetative and reproductive yield attributes including plant height(49–57 cm),podsplant−1(37–50),and optimum 100 seed weight(19.5–20.6 g).Owing to better yield attributes,BARI Chola-11 resulted in the maximum seed yield(1200–1500 kg ha-1)of chickpea and might be recommended for general adoption in the region for boosting nutritional security status through improved productivity under changing climate.

Safety of Single Vein Anastomosis versus Double Venous Anastomosis in ALT Perforator Flap in Foot and Leg Reconstruction

Introduction: Single or double venous anastomosis in free flap in general and ALT, in particular, is still a matter of debate between micro vascular surgeons. In this study, we will present our experience in single vein anastomosis versus double venous anastomosis in ALT perforator flap used in leg and foot reconstruction as regarding flap outcome, complications, operation time and the need for re-exploration. Patient and Methods: We retrospectively evaluate 60 patients with post traumatic foot and leg defects in the period between January 2014 and January 2018 where free ALT flap was done. The patients were divided into two groups, Group 1 where single vein anastomosis was done and Group 2 where double venous anastomosis was done;we utilize the deep venous system for the anastomosis in all cases. Results: Complete flap survival noticed in 56 cases (93.3%), defect size ranged from 70 to 200 cm (mean 126.35 ± 33.78). There was no difference between the 2 groups as regarding Flap survival, hospital stay, flap complications, donner site morbidity and vascular insufficiency. There is statistically significant difference between both groups as regarding Ischemia time, Operation time, and overall re-exploration rate. Conclusions: Our study suggests that the use of a single venous anastomosis in the venous drainage of anterolateral thigh free flaps is as safe and feasible as the two veins anastomoses.

Every breeding program that aims to create new and improved cultivars with desired traits mostly relies on information related to genetic ***,molecular characterization of germplasms is important to obtain target cultivars with desirable *** potato[Ipomoea batatas(L.)Lam]is widely considered the world’s most important crop,with great diversity in morphological and phenotypic *** genetic diversity of 20 sweet potato germplasms originating from Bangladesh,CIP,Philippines,Taiwan,and Malaysia were compared,which was accomplished by genetic diversity analysis by exploring 20 microsatellite DNA markers for germplasm characterization and *** information was effective in differentiating or clustering the sweet potato genotypes.A total of 64 alleles were generated using the 20 primers throughout the 20 germplasm samples,with locus IBS97 having the highest number of alleles(5),whereas locus IbU33 had the fewest alleles(2).The alleles varied in size from 105(IbU31)to 213 base pairs(IBS34).The Polymorphism Information Content(PIC)values for the loci IbL46 and IBS97 varied from 0.445 to ***97 has the highest number of effective alleles(3.704),compared to an average of *** average Shannon’s diversity index(H)was 1.003,ranging from 0.673 in IbU3 to 1.432 in *** value of gene flow(Nm)varied between 0.000 and 0.005,with an average of 0.003,whereas genetic differentiation(FST-values)ranged between 0.901 and *** sweet potato germplasm included in this study had a broad genetic ***1 ***9 and SP12 ***18 germplasm pairings had the greatest genetic distance(GD=0.965),while SP1 ***2 germplasm couples had the least genetic diversity(GD=0.093).Twenty genotypes were classified into two groups in the UPGMA dendrogram,with 16 genotypes classified as group“A”and the remaining four genotypes,SP10,SP18,SP19,and SP20,classified as group“B.”According to cluster analysis,the anticipated heterozygosity(gene diversity)of Nei

There has been an increasing interest in marine oysters (order: Petridae) in recent years because their numbers are declining in many parts of the world and also because they are used as monitors of pollution. The present study describes the microscopic structure of gills as viewed by light and electron microscopy in two locations selected in Alexandria coast, Eastern Harbor (E.H.) and El Asafra. The specimens in the E.H. represent the presence of extracellular mineralized granules.

Temporal and Spatial Effects on Some Physiological Parameters of the Bivalve <i>Lithophaga lithophaga</i>(Linnaeus, 1758) from Coastal Regions of Alexandria, Egypt

The date clam, Lithophaga lithophaga is a popular edible bivalve. It was collected from three different locations (Abo-Quir, Miami and El-Mex) along the coast of Alexandria-Egypt to determine the effect of two heavy metals as copper (Cu) and cadmium (Cd). The three organs were selected: gill, mantle and digestive gland. The enzymatic change is correlated with the concentration of metals. The present results suggest that Miami water is less polluted with Cu and Cd as compared to the two other locations. The physicochemical parameters are not significant among the three locations. Water of Abu-Quir and El-Max may be hazardous to bivalves. The order of levels of Cu and Cd was: gill > digestive gland > mantle. The present study illustrated that, in Abu Quir, there was a high positive correlation between Cd and Succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) as r = 0.969 whereas Cu and SDH as r = -0.91.

Risk factors and prognosis of pediatric rhegmatogenous retinal detachment in Egypt:a university hospital based study

AIM:To study and compare the predisposing factors and clinical features of pediatric,adult,and elderly rhegmatogenous retinal detachment(RRD).METHODS:This is an observational analytic crosssectional study in which patients with RRD admitted for surgery during 6mo period were divided into 3 age groups:pediatric(60y).Patients’demographic data,clinical features,RRD predisposing factors/features including myopia(axial length≥26.5 mm),aphakia/pseudophakia,blunt trauma,peripheral retinal degenerations,history of RRD in the fellow eye,and surgical interventions/findings were recorded and ***:Totally 142 patients(142 eyes)were studied:26(18.31%)pediatrics,86(60.56%)adults,and 30(21.13%)*** patients had a significantly higher intraocular pressures and cataracts compared to the other 2 groups(P=0.04).The RRD extent was larger in pediatric group(mostly 4 quadrants)compared to adults and elderly(mostly 2 quadrants),but it was not statistically insignificant(P=0.242).There were not statistically significantly differences in proliferative vitreoretinopathy(PVR)rate,posterior vitreous detachment(PVD)rate,number,site,shape,and size of breaks in three *** three groups had macular detachment in all *** and peripheral retinal degenerations were found to be more significant in adults(P=0.049,P=0.035,respectively),while blunt trauma was higher but insignificant in pediatric eyes(P=0.052).Pars plana vitrectomy(PPV)with silicone oil as a tamponade was the most used surgery in all ***:There are no significant difference in PVR rate in pediatric eyes but a significant higher rate of total *** trauma is more frequent in pediatrics eyes while myopia and/or peripheral retinal degenerations are more frequent in older *** rate of PPV as a choice for surgery is similar among all age groups.

Nanothermite colloids: A new prospective for enhanced performance

Nanothermites (metal oxide/metal) can offer tremendously exothermic self sustained reactions. CuO is one of the most effective oxidizers for naonothermite applications. This study reports on two prospectives for the manufacture of CuO nanoparticles. Colloidal CuO particles of 15 nm particle size were developed using hydrothermal synthesis technique. Multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) with surface are 700m2/g was employed as a substrate for synthesis of CuO-coated MWCNTs using electroless plating. On the other hand, aluminium particles with combustion heat of 32000 J/g is of interest as high energy density material. The impact of stoichiometric nanothermite particles (CuO/Al & Cuo-coated MWCNTs/Al) on shock wave strength of Al/TNT nanocomposite was evaluated using ballistic mortar test. While CuO-coated MWCNTs decreased the shock wave strength by 15%;colloidal CuO enhanced the shock wave strength by 30%. The superior performance of colloidal CuO particles was correlated to their steric stabilization with employed organic solvent. This is the first time ever to report on fabrication, isolation, and integration of stablilized colloidal nanothermite particles into energetic matrix where intimate mixing between oxidizer and metal fuel could be achieved.

Enhancement of resilient modulus of cohesive soil using an enzymatic preparation

The current study aims to evaluate the dynamic response of stabilized cohesive soil using an enzymatic preparation in terms of resilient *** ran a series of resilient modulus testing according to AASHTO T307 on three types of cohesive soil treated with an enzymatic preparation to investigate its potential on roads *** results show significant improvement in the resilient modulus values,estimated at 1.4 to 4.4 times that observed for the untreated *** of the complexity in conducting the resilient modulus measurement,we did a regression analysis to produce reliable correlation formula to predict the resilient modulus for untreated and stabilised soil samples involving stress *** resilient modulus values for the subgrade materials at the anticipated field stresses were determined using a universal *** enzymatic preparation was applied in pavement of a sample road and evaluated using the plate load *** analysis for soil samples shows improvement in the soil compaction via reduction of voids between soil *** analysis shows no major structural changes in the treated *** enzymatic preparation contains 43 mg/mL of *** used the SDS-PAGE(sodium dodecyl sulphate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis)technique to identify the main protein components;however,the presence of interfering materials(surfactants)hinders the separation.
