Dodecyl alcohol(DDA) is a promising solid-liquid phase change material(PCM) due to its favorable latent heat storage(LHS) ***,the leakage issue of PCM in a melted state during the heating period and low thermal conductivity restricts its utilization potential in thermal energy storage(TES) *** the same context,the present work aims to overcome the leakage issue and improve the thermal conductivity of the *** this in mind,a novel leak-proof layered double hydroxide(LDH)/DDA composite PCM is proposed through a solution-based impregnation *** leak-proof impregnation ratio of the DDA impregnated within the cavities of the synthesized Al/Fe-LDH was determined to be 60%.Detailed morphological,physicochemical,and thermal properties of the fabricated composite were studied by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),Fourier transforms infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction(XRD)spectroscopy,differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),thermalgravimetric analysis(TgA),and thermal cycling *** results show that the LDH/DDA composite has a suitable phase change temperature(about 20℃) for passive solar thermal management of building *** composite PCM showed high LHS enthalpy(about136 J/g),good thermal stability,and cycling LHS *** also showed nearly 152% higher thermal conductivity compared to that of pure DDA,ultimately reducing the melting and solidification time of the pure DDA by 44.9% and 45.5%,respectively.

Synthesized iron oxyhydroxide was applied for the adsorptive removal of As(V)and As(III)from the aquas ***,this investigation highlighted the synergistic effect of calcium carbonate in conjunction with iron oxyhydroxide,resulting in enhanced removal *** experiment was conducted under various conditions:concentration,dosage,pH,agitation,and *** characterizations such as Brunauer Emmett Teller,X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy were implied to understand adsorption *** Langmuir model revealed optimal concentrations for As(V)=500μg/L at pH-5 and As(III)=200μg/L at pH-7,resulting in 95%and 93%adsorption efficiencies,*** adsorption capacities“qm”were found to be 1266.943μg/g for As(V)and 1080.241μg/g for As(III).Freundlich model demonstrated favorable adsorption by indicating“n>1”such as As(V)=2.542 and As(III)=2.707;similarly,the speciation factor“RLg throughout chemisorption processes for removing As(V)and As(III).Furthermore,incorporating calcium carbonate presented a significant leap in the removal efficiency,indicating As(V)from 95%to 98%and As(III)from 93%to 96%,*** findings offer profound motivation for developing effective and sustainable solutions to tackle arsenic contamination,underscoring the exceptional promise of iron oxyhydroxide in conjunction with calcium carbonate to achieve maximum removal efficiency.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects of Hippeastrum hybridum(HH)as a free radical scavenger,and an inhibitor of the two enzymes i-e Alpha-amylase(α-amylase)and acetylcholinesterase(AChE).METHODS:In this study,HH plant was preliminary analyzed for phytochemical screening and then tested for its antioxidant,anti-α-amylase,and anti-AChE efficiency via standard ***:Phytochemical analysis shows the existence of different compounds;while Coumarins and quinones were *** total phenolic,flavonoid,and tannins content were found to be(78.52±0.69)mg gAE/g,(2.01±0.04)mg RUE/g,and(58.12±0.23)mg TAE/g of plant extract respectively.28.02%±0.02%alkaloid and 2.02%±0.05%saponins were present in the HH *** HH extract showed the anti-oxidant property with IC50(50%inhibition)of(151.01±0.13)(HH),(79.01±0.04)(Ascorbic acid)for ferric reducing,(91.48±0.13)(HH),(48.02±0.11)(Ascorbic acid)against Ammonium molybdenum,(156.02±0.31)(HH),(52.38±0.21)(Ascorbic acid)against DPPH,136.01±0.21(HH),52.02±0.31(Ascorbic acid)against H_(2)O_(2),and 154.12±0.03(HH),(40.05±0.15)(Ascorbic acid)μg/mL against ABTS *** analysis indicated that HH caused a competitive type of inhibition ofα-amylase(V_(max)remained constant and Km increases from 10.65 to84.37%)while glucophage caused the un-competitive type of inhibition i-e both Km and V_(max)decreased from40.49 to 69.15%and 38.86 to 69.61%*** K_(i),(inhibition constant);K_(I),(dissociation constant),K_(m),(Michaelis-Menten constant),and IC50 were found to be62,364,68.1,and 38.08±0.22 for HH and 12,101.05,195,34.01±0.21 for ***,HH causes an anon-competitive type of inhibition of AChE i-e Km remains constant while V_(max)decreases from 60.5%to74.1%.The calculated K_(i),K_(I),K_(m),and IC50 were found to be 32,36.2,0.05,and 18.117±***:From the current results,it is concluded that HH extract contains bioactive compounds,and could be a good alternative to controlling oxidant

In this paper,we propose a hybrid metric Palatini approach in which the Palatini scalar curvature is non minimally coupled to the scalar *** derive Einstein’s field equations,i.e.,the equations of motion of the scalar ***,the background and perturbative parameters are obtained by means of Friedmann equations in the slow roll *** analysis of cosmological perturbations allowed us to obtain the main inflationary parameters,e.g.,the scalar spectral index and tensor to scalar ratio *** this perspective,as an application of our analysis,we consider the Higgs field with quartic potential,which plays the inflaton role,and show that predictions of Higgs hybrid inflation are in good agreement with recent observational data[***.641,61(2020)].

garden pea productivity and qualities are hampered in zinc(Zn),boron(B),and molybdenum(Mo)deficient ***,the combination of micronutrients(i.e.,Zn,B,and Mo)and rhizobium is necessary to increase the productivity and quality of garden peas,since this management for garden peas is neglected in ***,the present study was made to assess the effectiveness of rhizobium inoculant singly or in combination with the micronutrients(i.e.,Zn,B,and Mo)on growth,yield,nutrient uptake,and quality of garden *** were:T_(1)=Control,T_(2)=Rhizobium inoculation at 50 g/kg seed,T_(3)=T_(2)+Zn_(3)Mo1,T_(4)=T_(2)+B_(2)Mo1,T_(5)=T_(2)+Zn_(3)B_(2),T_(6)=T_(2)+Zn_(3)B_(2)Mo1 and T_(7)=Zn_(3)B_(2)*** treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design and repeated all treatments in three *** application of 3 kg Zn,2 kg B,and 1 kg Mo ha^(−1)with inoculation of Rhizobium at 50 g kg^(−1)seed(T_(6))facilitated to increase of 44.8%in the green pod and 29.7%seed yield over *** same treatment contributed to attaining the maximum nodulation(25.3 plant^(−1)),Vitamin C(43.5 mg 100 g^(−1)),protein content(22.2%),and nutrient uptake as well as accumulation in garden *** all treatment combinations,treatment T_(6)was found superior to others based on microbial activities,soil fertility,and *** results of the study found that the application of 3 kg Zn,2 kg B,and 1 kg Mo ha^(−1)in combination with Rhizobium inoculation(50 g kg^(−1)seed)can improve the yield and quality of garden *** results of the study have the potential for the areas,where there is no use of Rhizobium inoculant or Zn,B,and Mo fertilizer for cultivation of garden pea.

Any biogas produced by the anaerobic fermentation of organic materials has the advantage of being an environmentally friendly ***,the relatively low calorific value of such gases makes their effective utilization in practical applications relatively *** present study considers the addition of hydrogen as a potential solution to mitigate this *** particular,the properties of turbulent diffusion jet flames and the related pollutant emissions are investigated numerically for different operating *** related numerical simulations are conducted by solving the RANS equations in the frame of the Reynolds Stress Model in combination with the flamelet *** effects are also taken into account and the combustion kinetics are described via the gRI-Mech 3.0 reaction *** considered hydrogen fuel enrichment spans the range from 0%to 50%in terms of *** varies between 1 and 10 *** results show that both hydrogen addition and pressure increase lead to an improvement in terms of mixing quality and have a significant effect on flame temperature and *** also reduce CO_(2) emissions but increase NOx *** NO is shown to be the predominant NO formation mechanism.

Solar-driven hydrogen production from seawater attracts great interest for its emerging role in decarbonizing global energy consumption. given the complexity of natural seawater content, photocatalytic vapor splitting offers a low-cost and safe solution, but with a very low solar-to-hydrogen conversion efficiency. With a focus on cutting-edge photothermal–photocatalytic device design and system integration, the recent research advances on vapor splitting from seawater, as well as industrial implementations in the past decades were reviewed. In addition, the design strategies of the key processes were reviewed, including vapor temperature and pressure control during solar thermal vapor generation from seawater, capillary-fed vaporization with salt repellent, and direct photocatalytic vapor splitting for hydrogen production. Moreover, the existing laboratory-scale and industrial-scale systems, and the integration principles and remaining challenges in the future seawater-to-hydrogen technology were discussed.

Facile formation of hierarchical magnesium silicate hydrate microspheres as an adsorbent for the textile dyes

Hierarchical porous magnesium silicate hydrate (MSH) microspheres composed of sheets are successfully developed under facile conditions using a hard template. The role of hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) on the formation and adsorption behavior was also observed for the methyl orange and methylene blue. The formed MSH possesses a surface area of 453.24 m^(2)/g, an average pore size of 6.38 nm, and a pore volume of 0.75 cm^(3)/g without CTAB. Based on the role of CTAB and the change in the ratio of Mg/Si, the MSH retained its sphere-like structure with a variation in pore parameters. The formed MSH was used as an adsorbent to remove methylene blue and methyl orange. The pseudo-second-order kinetic and Langmuir Isotherm models are well-fitted, with a 256.4 mg/g removal capacity and 84.2 mg/g for methylene blue and methyl orange, respectively. The modified MSH with CTAB played a positive role for the methyl orange and a negative role for the methylene blue regarding removal performance.

Background The aim of this study was to assess the effect of a 4-week dutasteride treatment on reducing the intraoperative and postoperative bleeding,as well as the amount and duration of irrigation required to clear the urine after transurethral resection of the prostate(TURP)≥50 g in men receiving the antiplatelet drug(APD).Materials and methods This double-blind randomized clinical trial included patients with a prostate size≥50 g who were indicated for TURP and were already receiving *** study was conducted in the Urology Department of Cairo University over a 12-month *** preoperative laboratory investigations were performed in all ***,baseline prostate size,serum prostate-specific antigen level,and International Prostate Symptom Score were *** patients were randomly divided into 2 equal groups(groups A and B).group A,the dutasteride group,received dutasteride(0.5 mg)once daily for 4 *** B,the placebo group,received a placebo capsule once daily for 4 *** groups underwent bipolar *** patients were excluded from the study;9 patients from group A and 6 patients from group B,either due to drug intolerability or loss *** The mean blood loss was insignificant between the 2 groups immediately after and 24 hours after surgery(Δhemoglobin:1.41±0.63 g/dL vs.1.48±0.54 g/dL,2.12±0.70 g/dL vs.2.31±0.78 g/dL,respectively,p=0.631,p=0.333;Δhematocrit:2.97%±1.51%vs.3.16%±1.36%,4.96%±1.87%vs.5.73%±4.39%,respectively,p=0.610,p=0.380).However,there were significant differences in duration of indwelling urethral catheter(5.10±0.55 days vs.5.80±1.79 days,p=0.048),duration of bladder irrigation(13.60±2.85 hours vs.16.33±6.62 hours,p=0.044),and the amount of saline used for bladder irrigation(11.03±2.30 L vs.13.87±6.13 L,p=0.046)between group A and group *** Treatment with dutasteride for 4 weeks before TURP in men receiving APD did not significantly reduce intraoperative or postoperativ
