this study aimed at investigating the effect of using a Web Quest program on developing some EFL critical reading and writing skills of the first year experimental secondary school students. the participants of the study were 60 students from one of the Experimental Secondary Schools in Egypt. Instruments of the study were EFL critical reading and writing tests. Students in both the experimental and the control groups were pre-tested using the critical reading test and the writing test. then, students of the experimental group were using Web Quest. Finally, students in both groups were post-tested using the same instruments. the study showed that there was statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the pre and the post critical reading test and writing test of the experimental group in favor of the post tests. this difference can be attributed to using Web Quest.

this study aimed at investigating the effect of Facebook on grammar discussion and writing skill in English as a foreign language for university students, the study sample consisted of 60 students at Oklt AI Sqoor College of Science and Arts in Saudi Arabia and was divided into two groups： 30 students for the experimental group and 30 students for the control group. the instrument of the study was an EFL grammar and writing test. Students in both the experimental and the control group were pre-tested using the EFL （English as a Foreign Language） grammar and writing test, After that the experimental group was taught using Facebook while the control group was taught using the traditional method. Finally, students in both groups were post-tested using the EFL grammar and writing test. Results of the study showed that the experimental group outperformed the control group in the post-test of EFL grammar and writing. this difference can be attributed to using Facebook.

OBJECtIVE: the aim of this study is to find out the effect of delivery mode on newborn’s cord blood parameters particularly hemoglobin and hematocrite values. SEttING: Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, Qena Faculty of Medicine, South Valley University, Egypt. DURAtION: From April 2015 to December 2017. StUDY DESIGN: A cross sectional study. MEtHODS: 900 live born neonates for healthy mothers were included in this study;all cases were delivered at full-term, with birth weight ranged from 2.5 to 3.5 Kg and had APGAR scores above 7 at 1 and 5 minutes. Newborns were divided into three groups (Group I included 300 newborns delivered by vaginal delivery without augmentation of labor, Group II included 300 newborns delivered vaginally with augmentation of labor and Group III included 300 newborns delivered by elective cesarean section). Blood sample was collected from the umbilical vein of each neonate for estimation of hemoglobin, hematocrit, RBCs count, platelets, WBCs count and reticulocytes. RESULtS: Cesarean section delivery had a statistically significant decrease in the level of iron-related hematologic indices including hemoglobin, hematocrit and RBCs count (p value there was a statistically significant difference among studied groups in reticulocyte count with (P value a positive correlation among newborns cord blood hemoglobin as regard to head circumference, length and gestational age and negative correlations as regard to maternal age, parity and birth weight with no statistically significance (P value > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Cesarean section delivery had a significant decrease in the level of iron-related hematologic indices including hemoglobin, hematocrit and RBCs count and has a non-significant decrease in WBCs and platelets counts in neonatal cord blood, which suggest high prevalence of newborn iron-deficiency anemia among cesarean births particularly in developing communities.

the cancellable biometric transformations are designed to be computationally difficult to obtain the original biometric *** paper presents a cancellable multi-biometric identification scheme that includes four stages:biometric data collection and processing,Arnold’s Cat Map encryption,decimation process to reduce the size,and finalmerging of the four biometrics in a single generated ***,a 2D matrix of size 128×128 is created based on Arnold’s Cat Map(ACM).the purpose of this rearrangement is to break the correlation between pixels to hide the biometric patterns and merge these patterns together for more *** decimation is performed to keep the dimensions of the overall cancellable template similar to those of a single template to avoid data ***,some sort of aliasing occurs due to decimation,contributing to the intended distortion of biometric *** hybrid structure that comprises encryption,decimation,andmerging generates encrypted and distorted cancellable *** simulation results obtained for performance evaluation show that the system is safe,reliable,and feasible as it achieves high security in the presence of noise.

El-Amir Muhammad’s minaret in Akhmim, Sohag, Egypt, is constructed of limestone and has been exposed to many factors of damage as a result of the high levels of ground water. Limestone is strongly affected by ground water, especially when being impure. the current work discusses the results of analytical techniques including chemical testing to determine the types of soluble salts through optical microscopy, electronic scanning electron microscope with an X-ray energy dispersion system (ESEM) to study and determine the causes of rapid degradation. Microbial weathering phenomena toward limestone were also studied. Different bacteria and fungi were isolated from outdoors and indoors of air and limestone of the building of which Bacillus cereus OK447647, B. subtilis OK447648, Serratia marcescens OK447650, Pseudomonasoryzihabitans OK447649, Aspergillus flavus, A. niger, Penicillium chrysogenum and Cladosporium cladosporoids were the most representative. B. cereus OK447647 and B. subtilis OK447648 have shown ability for calcium carbonate dissolving. the minimal inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of sodium azide were investigated against the growth of microbial isolates. Sodium azide at 100 ppm was found to be the best treatment for bacterial isolates although it had no significant effect against fungi.

Maximizing the exploitation of phosphogypsum wastes using soaking technique with citric acid, recovering rare-earth and residual phosphate contents

Phosphogypsum(PG), the main by-product of phosphoric acid production industries, is considered one of the most important secondary sources of rare earth elements(REEs). the current study focuses on the recovery of REEs content and the residual phosphate content existing in the PG with preserving on the CaSO_(4)skeleton to be used in other various applications. these attainments are carried out using citric acid leaching process via soaking technique. Several dissolution parameters for REEs using citric acid were studied, including soaking time, soaking temperature, citric acid concentration, solid-to-liquid ratio, and recycling of the citrate leaching solutions in the further REEs dissolution experiments. the best-operating conditions were 14 d of soaking time, 7.5% citric acid concentration, and the solid-toliquid ratio of 1/5 at ambient temperature. About 79.57% dissolution efficiency of REEs was achieved using the optimal conditions. Applying four soaking stages by mixing different fresh PG samples with the same citrate solution sequentially, cumulative dissolution efficiency for REEs was found to be 64.7% under optimal soaking conditions. REEs were recovered using Dowex 50X8 resin from citrate solutions with 96% extraction efficiency. Dissolution kinetics proved the pseudo-first-order nature, reversible reactions, and two activation energies for all REEs.

Image fusion has become one of the interesting fields that attract researchers to integrate information from different image *** is involved in several *** of the recent applications is the robotic *** application necessitates image enhancement of both infrared(IR)and visible *** paper presents a Robot Human Interaction System(RHIS)based on image fusion and deep *** basic objective of this system is to fuse visual and IR images for efficient feature extraction from the captured ***,an enhancement model is carried out on the fused image to increase its *** image enhancement models such as fuzzy logic,Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)and residual network(ResNet)pre-trained model are utilized on the fusion results and they are compared with each other and with the state-of-the-art *** results prove that the fuzzy logic enhancement gives the best results from the image quality ***,the proposed system can be considered as an efficient solution for the robotic vision problem with multi-modality images.
