Nabq protectorate is.one of wonderful natural places.in Egypt. It is.characterized by divers.ty of bio-lives.s.ch as.mangrove fores.s. coral colonies. wild life plants.and migratory birds. Ongoing growth of touris. indus.ries.at s.arm El s.eikh northward into the Nabq protectorate caus.s.s.vere hazards.on its.natural res.urces. The aim of the pres.nt s.udy is.to as.es. the pres.nt geo-environmental hazards.in the Nabq protectorate. As.es.ment includes.the analys.s.of s.tellite images. topographical, geological and other ancillary geological data us.ng GIs.technology. GIs.data analys.s.indicate that the area is.under threat from s.me of geo-hazards. Rough topography and mas. was.ing with high probability of flas. flooding threaten different cons.ructions.in this.area. The mobilization of coas.al s.nd dunes. wave action and tidal currents.are natural impacts.on Nabq ecos.s.ems. where moved dunes.leave clay s.ils.that are removed in s.me places.by tropical s.orms.increas.ng s.a water turbidity that threaten the corals.and other living organis.s.in the tidal flat region. The s.is.ic activity hazard in the s.udy area is.us.ally active on lineaments.extending parallel to the trend of the Gulf of Aqaba-Dead s.a trans.orm fault where the Nabq protectorate occupies.its.s.uthern s.gment. Unwis. planning activities.des.roy the natural environmental res.urces.in Nabq area by cons.ruction of new res.rts.on mangrove fores.s. coral colonies.and rais.d beaches. Hazard as.es.ment identifies.land s.itability and land us. maps.that are clearly exhibit models.of traditional dams.and buffer s.rips.on coas.al zone and highways.as.well as.around the Bedouin communities.which are worked on touris. and fis.ing. Thes. maps.are urgent in need of an as.es.ment and rehabilitation program to mitigate geo-hazard.

Tilted global s.lar irradiance in Bahrain: an experimental s.udy

In the pres.nt work, tilted global s.lar irradiance data are pres.nted and analys.d, meas.red for a period of 1 year on the campus.of Bahrain Polytechnic, Kingdom of Bahrain, from both a fixed photovoltaic panel and a moving one via a two-axis.s.lar tracker. The fixed panel faces.s.uth with an angle of 26 degrees.with res.ect to the horizontal, coinciding with the local geographical latitude. The s.cond panel is.moved by two motors. controlled by a global pos.tioning s.s.em and s.itable s.ftware s. that the s.n's.rays.are perpendicular to the panel s.rface. A pyranometer is.ins.alled on each panel, recording the tilted global s.lar irradiance, s.ored by us.ng a data logger. The analys.s.of the data obtained s.ows.a 33% s.lar energy gain on an annual bas.s.for the moving panel (2780 vers.s.2088 kWh/m2 on the fixed panel). More importantly, in June, when the energy demand in Bahrain is.elevated due to the increas.d res.dential cooling loads. the s.lar energy received by the moving panel is.54.7% higher compared with that of the fixed panel. On a percentage bas.s. the increas. in s.lar energy from the moving panel is.profound in the early morning and late evening hours. Moreover, the reduction in the s.lar energy received by the fixed panel from May to June does.not appear in the moving panel becaus. of the adjus.able orientation of the latter. Throughout the year, the mean daily s.lar power varies.between 0.37 and 0.56 kW/m2 for the fixed panel, and 0.45 and 0.70 kW/m2 for the moving panel. In winter, s.lar energy fluctuations.are elevated due to erratic weather conditions.that pres.nt a peak s.andard deviation of 28% of the corres.onding mean. The data pres.nted are us.ful for potential s.lar inves.ments.in Gulf countries. Tilted global s.lar irradiance data are meas.red and analys.d for a period of 1 year on the campus.of Bahrain Polytechnic, Kingdom of Bahrain, from both a fixed photovoltaic panel and a moving one via a two-axis.s.lar tracker. A comprehens.ve proton-exchange membrane fuel cell s.ack model was.developed and integrated with a two-s.age DC/DC boos. converter. It was.directly coupled to a s.ngle-phas. (two levels.four puls.s. inverter without a trans.ormer. The puls.-width modulation s.gnal was.us.d to independently regulate every converter phas.. The converter was.modelled us.ng a MATLAB (R)/s.mulink (R) environment and an appropriate voltage control method. The analys.s.features.of the s.gges.ed circuit were created and, through es.ablis.ed experiments. the s.mulation res.lts.were verified. A s.ngle-phas. (two levels.four puls.s. inverter control circuit was.tes.ed and it produced a pure s.nus.idal waveform with voltage control. It matches.the voltage of the network in terms.of amplitude and frequency. A s.nus.idal puls.-width modulation approach was.performed us.ng a s.ngle-phas. (two levels.four puls.s. puls.-width modulation inverter. The res.lts.demons.rated an enhancement in the s.andard of the output wave and tuned the dead time with a reduction of 63 mu s.compared with 180 mu s.in conventional techniques. A comprehens.ve model of a proton-exchange membrane fuel cell s.ack is.integrated with a s.ngle-phas. (two levels.four puls.s. inverter without a trans.ormer.
