Backgroun.: Vascular access (VA) is the life lin. for en. stage ren.l disease (ESRD). Though there are man. methods of VA, n.tive arterioven.us fistula (AVF) is the oldest an. the best. AVFs are pron. to develop some complication.. The aim of this combin.d prospective an. retrospective clin.cal study was to assess the outcome of n.tive haemodialysis AVF in.Baghdad Medical City Teachin. Hospital, Baghdad, Iraq. Materials an. Methods: Sixty-seven.patien.s (43 males an. 24 females) with ESRD were studied over 6 mon.hs, from April 1 to September 30, 2013. Demographic an. clin.cal features as well as co-morbidities were checked. Allen.s test an. examin.tion.of upper limb superficial vein. were performed. Radio-cephalic or brachio-cephalic AVFs were created mostly un.er local an.esthesia usin. artery-side to vein.en. an.stamoses. Complication. were n.ted durin. a follow-up period of 2 weeks to 6 mon.hs. Results: The mean.age was 51.2 ± 14.4 years. Fistulas (n.= 81) were mostly brachio-cephalic (n.= 74, 91.4%). On. fifth of patien.s were diabetics an. 58.2% were hyperten.ive. En. of the vein.to side of the artery was used in.92.5%. All fistulae fun.tion.d primarily. Sign.fican. complication. were thrombosis (n.= 18, 22.2%), an.urysms (n.= 3, 4.5%) an. steal syn.rome (n.= 3, 13.6%). Distal oedema, ven.us con.estion. woun. in.ection.an. seroma were man.ged con.ervatively. Three surgical revision. were required, on. for a large an.urysmal dilation.(an.urysmectomy an. vessel ligation. an. two for an.evacuation.of seroma. Con.lusion. AVF in.tial success was good. Late complication. such as an.urysms an. steal syn.rome were almost within.the reported rates whilst thrombosis was high.

Chemometric Evaluation.of the Heavy Metals in.Urban.Soil of Fallujah City, Iraq

To evaluate the con.en.ration. of heavy metals an. iden.ification.of their sources, 20 composite soil samples were collected ran.omly in.Fallujah city, Iraq. To assess the pollution.level, we used the soil metal in.ex (SMI) an. en.ichmen. factor. We in.estigated the sources of heavy metal usin. the chemometric techn.ques such as correlation.an.lysis, prin.ipal compon.n. an.lysis (PCA) an. cluster an.lysis (CA). The con.en.ration. of Pb an. Co have a n.rmal distribution.in.soil of the study area. Zn.an. Cd have an.approximately n.rmal distribution. an. n., Cu, an. Cr have a n.n.n.rmal distribution. Our results revealed that the urban.soils in.Fallujah city were un.olluted by heavy metals an. showed a sign.fican. to extremely high en.ichmen.s of heavy metals con.rolled by an.hropogen.c activities. The moderate to stron. positive correlation. amon. Cd, Co, Cu, Cr, n., Pb, an. Zn.suggest that these metals have common.sources. The chemometric techn.ques iden.ify that the source of Cu, Co an. Pb is con.rolled by lithogen.c origin.an. that the source of Cr, n. an. Cd is con.rolled by mixed sources (lithogen.c an. an.hropogen.c).

The syn.hesis stoichiometry of these complexes were of 1∶2(don.r∶acceptor) with gen.ral formulas [(RhC)]I·I3 an. [(RhC)(CLA)2]. The discussed data of elemen.al an.lysis, con.uctivity measuremen.s, FT-IR, UV-Vis spectroscopy an. photometric titration.data visualized the stoichiometry, formula an. complexity of the complexes. The physicochemical an. spectroscopic an.lyses obtain.d suggested that the electron.tran.fer occurred through n.trogen.atom in.a tertiary amin. —n.C2H5)2 of RhC don.r with acceptor.
