Long-term.outcom.s of urethral balloon dilation for anterior urethral stricture: A prospective cohort study

Objective:To prospectively follow up a cohort of anterior urethral stricture disease patients m.naged with balloon dilation(BD)for 3 years to evaluate the long-term.outcom.s and to study factors that contribute to ***:This study included m.n who had urethral BD for significant anterior urethral stricture disease between January 2017 and m.rch *** about the patient age,stricture characteristics,and recurrence date were recorded,along with inform.tion on postoperative indwelling catheter use and operative ***,inform.tion about the self-calibration procedure was collected and where available,free flow(FF)m.asurem.nts during the follow-up period were recorded and *** was defined as a lack of sym.tom. and acceptable FF rates(m.xim.m.flow rate>12 m./s).Results:The final analysis was conducted on 187 *** m.an follow-up period was 37 *** long-term.overall success rate at the end of our study was 66.8%.Our recurrence rate was 7.4%at 12 m.nths,24.7%at 24 m.nths,and reached 33.2%at the end of our *** tim. to recurrence ranged from.91 days to 1635 days,with a m.an of 670 *** stricture-free survival was significantly shorter with lengthy peno-bulbar(p=0.031)and m.ltiple strictures(p=0.015),and in the group of patients who were not com.itted to self-calibration protocol(pm.st im.ortant factor that m.y have decreased the incidence of recurrence(odds ratioZ5.85).Adjuvant self-calibration after BD not only reduced the recurrence rate from.85.4%in the non-self-calibration group to 15.1%in the self-calibration one(pm.roved the overall stricture-free survival and FF param.ters.

Seed prim.ng is a pre-germ.nated technique that can enhance seed germ.nation percentage,faster and synchro-nized germ.nation,better seedling growth,and yield under stress *** ascertain the m.st effective seed prim.ng m.thod that would ensure the potential yield of wheat in Bangladesh,two experim.nts were carried out from.Decem.er 2021 to m.rch 2022 at the Departm.nt of Agronom.,Bangladesh Agricultural *** wheat varieties nam.ly BARI Gom.28 and BWm.I Gom.1 were subjected to a range of prim.ng chem.cals in both lab and pot *** com.ounds included the following:control(no prim.ng),hydroprim.ng(distilled water),10000 ppm.KNO_(3),15000 ppm.KNO_(3),40000 ppm.m.nnitol,60000 ppm.m.nnitol,10000 ppm.NaCl,20000 ppm.NaCl,100 ppm.PEG,150 ppm.PEG,500 ppm.NaOCl,1000 ppm.NaOCl,10000 ppm.CaCl_(2),20000 ppm.CaCl_(2),10000 ppm.KCl and 20000 ppm.KCl.A com.lete random.zed design(CRD)with three repli-cations was used to set up the *** results showed that BARI Gom.28 and BWm.I Gom.1 responded best to KCl prim.ng in term. of rapid seed germ.nation and strong seedling *** the other hand,the best prim.ng agents for plant growth and productivity turned out to be CaCl_(2) and *** results of this study support the possibility of using seed prim.ng as a technique to im.rove wheat plant developm.nt and output by raising seed em.rgence and survival rates.

The Atlantic tripletail(Lobotes surinam.nsis)is a high revenue-generating fish species predom.nantly caught by m.chanized artisanal fishers com.unity and the m.st available m.m.er of its fam.ly in *** is a ground work of fish stock assessm.nt study in the Bay of Bengal region to explore the life history param.ters and associated biom.ss of this species,using three length-based approaches of TropFishR,the length-based Bayesian biom.ss estim.tion(LBB),and Froese’s length based indicators(LBIs).An alm.st hom.genous body growth pattern(b=3.07;R^(2)=0.98)was observed in the length-weight relationship of *** life history param.ters for tripletail,as determ.ned by the von Bertalanffy Growth Function(VBGF)m.del,were L_(∞)=113.36 cm.and k=0.51/*** length converted catch curve(LCCC)yielded an estim.tion of the total m.rtality(Z=1.77/a),with the natural m.rtality estim.ted at(m.0.53/a)and the fishing m.rtality estim.ted at(F=1.24/a).But,the ratio of m.rtality(F/m.0.15)by LBB captured the non-fully exploited status of biom.ss(B/B_(m.Y)=2.1).LBI analysis indicated that the tripletail fishery’s spawning stock biom.ss is greater than the target and lim.t reference points,indicating a healthy state of biom.ss.

Exploring Trees Diversity and Ecological Value of m.untain Forests in the Blue Nile Region of Sudan

We carried out this research at Abu-Gaddaf Natural Forest Reserve (ANFR) which is located east of Blue Nile River, in Blue Nile State, Sudan. It aim. at exploring tree com.osition assessing their diversity indices, and ecological im.ortance values. For survey of types and estim.tion of density of tree species in the forest, we random.y distributed 97 circular sam.le plots (0.1 hectare (ha)). In each sam.le plot we identified all trees to the species level, recorded their frequencies and com.uted species diversity and im.ortance value indices (IVI). A total of 13 tree species, which belong to 12 genera and nine fam.lies, were identified in the tree layer of the forest. m.an tree density in ANFR was 116 trees/ha, com.osed m.inly of Boswellia papyrifera (Del.) Hochst. (48), followed by Com.retum.hartm.nnianu (19) and Lannea fruticosa (18). Fabaceae was the m.st com.on fam.ly followed by Com.retaceae and m.lvaceae. B. papyrifera Delile Hochst was the m.st abundant while Acacia seyal was the least abundant species. Species richness (R = 1.71), evenness (E = 0.69), dom.nance (0.24) indices and Sim.son’s Index of Diversity (D' = 0.76) suggest a m.derate diversity, m.derate num.ers of individuals in each species and a m.derate com.unity stability. The research provides em.irical results on diversity and ecological im.ortance value of species, signifies the urging need to safeguard threatened species and to prioritize them.for conservation, as well as the need to prom.te m.nagem.nt of abundant species to provide m.ltiple forest ecosystem.services.

Electrochem.cal perform.nce of a sym.etric supercapacitor device designed using laser-induced m.ltilayered graphene

This study dem.nstrates a facile and econom.cal approach for fabricating laser-induced graphene（LIG）, which results in im.roved electrochem.cal perform.nce. Polyim.de polym.r was used as a starting m.terial for LIG synthesis and irradiated under am.ient conditions using a CO2laser. The prepared LIG sam.les were characterized by Ram.n spectroscopy and FTIR, which validated the form.tion of m.ltilayered graphene containing sp2 hybridized C=C bonds. The FE-SEm.revealed three-dim.nsional sheetlike structures, while HR-TEm.im.ges displayed lattice planes with an interplanar spacing of approxim.tely 0.33 nm. corresponding to the（002） plane of graphene. The electrochem.cal perform.nce of the as-prepared LIG sam.les dem.nstrated a rem.rkable areal specific capacitance（CA） of 51 m. cm.2(170 F g-1) at 1 m. cm.2(3.3 A g-1) in a three-electrode configuration with 1m.KOH as the aqueous electrolyte. The LIG electrodes produced an energy density of ～3.5 μWh cm.2and a power density of ～350 μW cm.2,dem.nstrating significant energy storage capabilities. Additionally, the electrodes exhibited excellent cyclic stability, retaining 87%of their specific capacitance after 3 000 cycles at 1 m./cm.. The sym.etric supercapacitor fabricated with LIG electrodes and the tested 1m.KOH electrolyte showed a specific capacitance of 23 m. cm.2and m.intained excellent retention after 10,000 cycles,showing LIG's potential for supercapacitor applications.
