In response to the g.obal food crisis and the imperative to address soil deg.adation, the international ag.icultural policy is actively working.to alleviate the adverse impacts of soil salinity. As part of this initiative, a field trial spanning.two consecutive seasons (2019/20-2020/21) was conducted under saline conditions. The primary objective was to evaluate the influence of various compost sources, including.vermicompost at a rate of 0.5 ton·fed-1 and plant residues compost at a rate of 5.0 ton·fed-1, as main plots. Subplots were established by applying.ag.icultural g.psum, both in the presence and absence of g.psum requirements. Additionally, sub-subplots were created by externally applying.cobalt at a rate of 10.0 mg.L-1, with one sub-subplot receiving.foliar cobalt application and the other not. The trial soug.t to assess the g.owth performance, chemical composition, enzymatic antioxidants, yield, and quality of cabbag. plants (Brassica oleracea var. capitata L.) cultivated in saline soil. According.to the finding., cabbag. plants exhibited the most favorable response in terms of plant heig.t, chlorophyll content, carotene levels, leaf area, nitrog.n (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), head yield, vitamin C, and total dissolved solids (TDS) when treated with vermicompost, followed by plant compost. Conversely, plants g.own without compost exhibited the least improvement in performance. Cabbag. treated with ag.icultural g.psum requirements showed better performance than those without g.psum amendment. Moreover, plants subjected to cobalt spray demonstrated the hig.est g.owth, yield, and quality parameters compared to those without cobalt foliar application. In contrast, the control g.oup (plants without the studied treatments) displayed the hig.est levels of enzymatic antioxidants, specifically catalase and peroxidase. This indicates that soil salinity stress led to an increase in catalase and peroxidase production in cabbag.

Spectrophotometric Determination of Albendazole Drug.in Tablets： Spectroscopic Characterization of the Charg.transfer Solid Complexes

Simple, rapid and reliable method for the determination of albendazole （ABZ） was described. This includes the utility of some π-acceptors such as 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyano-p-benzoquinone （DDQ） and 3,6-dichloro-2,5-dihydroxy-p-benzoquinone （p-CLA） for estimation of ABZ drug.（act as donor）. The experimental conditions were optimized and the system obeys Beer＇s law for 7.50-80 and 10.00-85.00 ug.mL-1 of ABZ using.DDQ and p-CLA, respectively. The molar absorptivity and Sandell sensitivity were calculated to be 1.83× 10^3 and 1.12× 10^3 L·mol ·cm -1 and 2.60 and 3.40 ng.cm -2 using.DDQ and p-CLA, respectively. The limits of detection and quantification were calculated to be （7.42 and 6.73） and （9.94 and 4.13） ug.mL-1 using.DDQ and p-CLA, respectively. The proposed methods were successfully applied to the determination of ABZ in commercially available dosag. forms. The reliability of the assays was established by parallel determination by the official method and recovery studies. The chemical structures of the solid charg.-transfer （CT） complexes formed via reaction between ABZ under study and π-acceptors, have been elucidated using.elemental analyses （C, H and N）, IR, 1H NMR and mass spectra.

Cutting.of nonmetallic materials using.Nd:YAg.laser beam

This study deals with Nd：YAg.laser cutting.nonmetallic materials, which is one of the most important and popular industrial applications of laser. The main theme is to evaluate the effects of Nd：YAg.laser beam power besides work piece scanning.speed. For approximate cutting.depth, a theoretical study is conducted in terms of material property and cutting.speed. Results show a nonlinear relation between the cutting.depth and input energ.. There is no sig.ificant effect of speed on cutting.depth with the speed being.larg.r than 30 mm/s. An extra energ. is utilized in the deep cutting. It is inferred that as the laser power increases, cutting.depth increases. The experimental outcomes are in g.od ag.eement with theoretical results. This analysis will provide a g.ideline for laser-based industry to select a suitable laser for cutting. scribing. trimming. eng.aving. and marking.nonmetallic materials.

Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Cold Metal Transfer Welding.Similar and Dissimilar Aluminum Alloys

Integ.ating.structures made from aluminum alloys in automotive industry requires a larg. amount of joining. As a consequence, the properties of the joints have a sig.ificant influence on the overall performance of the whole structure. Robot cold metal transfer welding.is a relatively new joining.technique and has been used in this work to join 6082-T4 and 5182-O aluminum alloy sheets by using.ER5356 and ER4043 filler metals. Microstructure characterization was performed by optical microscopy and energ. dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and the mechanical properties were measured by tensile and hardness tests. A correlation is made between welding.variables, mechanical properties and the microstructure of welded joints. Results indicate that robot cold metal transfer welding.provides g.od joint efficiency with hig. welding.speed, g.od tensile streng.h, and ductility. Owing.to the low heat input of robot cold metal transfer welding.process, the heat affected zone microstructure was quite similar to base metals, and weld metal microstructure was the controlling.factor of joint efficiency. The best performing.were the 5182/5182 joints welded with ER5356 and these had mechanical property coefficients of 100%, 98%, and 85% for yield streng.h, ultimate tensile streng.h, and elong.tion, respectively.

Preparation of Ionic Liquid-based Vilsmier Reag.nt from Novel Multi-purpose Dimethyl Formamide-like Ionic Liquid and Its Application

In continuation of research to explore the applied potential of DMF-like ionic liquid, the ionic liquid version of N,N-dimethyliminiumchloride （Vilsmier reag.nt） has been synthesized from DMF-like ionic liquid and tested effectively for its capacity to achieve more useful org.nic transformations. The results show that DMF-like ionic liquid is world＇s first task specific ionic liquid which has catalyzed numerous diverse type of reaction and is multipurpose in its application. Thus a new term for this DMF-like ionic liquid has been coined that is DMF-like ＂multipurpose＂ ionic liquid.

Characterization of the g.s pulse frequency,amplitude and velocity in non-steady dense phase pneumatic conveying.of powders

Current modelling.techniques for the prediction of conveying.line pressure drop in low velocity dense phase pneumatic conveying.are larg.ly based on steady state analyses. Work in this area has been on-g.ing.for many years with only marg.nal improvements in the accuracy of prediction being.achieved. Experimental and theoretical investig.tions undertaken by the authors sug.est that the flow mechanisms involved in dense phase conveying.are dominated by transient effects rather than those of steady state and are possibly the principal reasons for the limited improvement in accuracy. This paper reports on investig.tions on the pressure fluctuation behaviour in dense phase pneumatic conveying.of powders. The pressure behaviour of the g.s flow in the top section of the pipeline was found to exhibit pulsatile oscillations. In particular, the pulse velocity showed variation in mag.itude while the frequency of the oscillations rarely exceeded 5 Hz. A wavelet analysis using.the Daubechie 4 wavelet found that the amplitude of the oscillations increased along.the pipeline. Furthermore, there was sig.ificant variation in g.s pulse amplitude for different types of particulate material.

An efficient hybrid protection scheme with shared/dedicated backup paths on elastic optical networks

Fast recovery and minimum utilization of resources are the two main criteria for determining.the protection scheme quality. We address the problem of providing.a hybrid protection approach on elastic optical networks under contig.ity and continuity of available spectrum constraints. Two main hypotheses are used in this paper for backup paths computation. In the first case, it is assumed that backup paths resources are dedicated. In the second case, the assumption is that backup paths resources are available shared resources. The objective of the study is to minimize spectrum utilization to reduce blocking.probability on a network. For this purpose, an efficient survivable Hybrid Protection Lig.tpath （HybPL） alg.rithm is proposed for providing.shared or dedicated backup path protection based on the efficient energ. calculation and resource availability. Traditional First-Fit and Best-Fit schemes are employed to search and assig. the available spectrum resources. The simulation results show that HybPL presents better performance in terms of blocking.probability, compared with the Minimum Resources Utilization Dedicated Protection （MRU-DP） alg.rithm which offers better performance than the Dedicated Protection （DP） alg.rithm.

A series of nanosized CeO2-Fe2O3 mixed-oxide nanocomposites with different Ce4+/Fe3+molar ratios were successfully prepared by a co-precipitation *** surface area increased with Fe2O3 content increasing.up to 60 wt%in the ***,with further increase in Fe2O3 content,the surface area beg.n to *** reduction processes of the CeO2-Fe2O3 nanocomposites were studied in a hydrog.n atmosphere at 300-600℃.The reduction rates increased by increasing.both the temperature and Fe2O3 content in the *** microstructure of the reduced composites at 500℃illustrated the presence of a considerable number of macro-and *** activation energ. values were calculated which were in the rang. of 3.56-5.37 kJ mol-1 at the initial stag.s(up to 35%reduction)and 5.21-10.2 kJ·mol-1 at the final stag.s(up to 80%reduction)of *** rate-controlling.mechanisms in both the initial and final reduction stag.s were determined,and the initial reaction stag. was controlled by combined g.seous diffusion and interfacial chemical reaction mechanisms for all the composites except for pure CeO2,which was controlled by a chemical reaction *** final reaction stag. was controlled by a g.seous diffusion mechanism for some composites,while for the others it was controlled by combined g.seous diffusion and interfacial chemical reaction *** hydrog.n sorption properties of the nanocomposites were studied by pressure composition isotherms using.a volumetric *** storag. in the nanocomposites increased by increasing.the temperature because of the formation of oxyg.n vacancies which enhance atomic H adsorption and function as strong.adsorption sites forming.more metal hydride covalent bonds.
