Trypanosomiasis afflicts about 6~7 million people globally and to a large extent impedes livestock production in ***,trypanosomal parasites undergo genetic mutation and have developed resistance over a wide range of *** utilization of animals and plants products has presented therapeutic potential for identifying novel anti-trypanosomal *** study evaluated toad venom for anti-trypanosomal potency in-vivo in Swiss *** were collected from July to August *** acute oral toxicity and biochemical characterization of the toad venom were *** experimental mice were administered various doses(130 mg/kg,173 mg/kg and 217 mg/kg)of the toad venom crude extract and 0.75 mg/mL of Diamizan Plus standard drug for the treatment of trypanosomiasis,once daily for 3 *** in-vivo anti-trypanosomal activity was evaluated by a curative test,after infecting the mice with Trypanosoma brucei *** pre-patent period was 72 hours before treatment *** overall results showed that trypanosomal load was highest in the control group while the group treated with Diamizan drug had the least trypanosomal *** such,the mean trypanosomal load in relation to treatments showed a very high significant difference(Pf toad venom versus Diamizan drug showed a very high significant difference(Pficantly(Pf Hb which showed no significant difference(P>0.05)across treatment *** over 50%reduction in the trypanosomal load in the 130 mg/kg group in comparison with the control group brings to bare the anti-trypanosomal potency of the toad *** anti-trypanosomal activity demonstrated by the toad venom has provided basis for development of new therapeutic agents from different toad *** study recommends further stu

Anopheles gambiae is a vector that is responsible for the transmission of malaria parasites which causes high morbidity and mortality in Nigeria and the world at ***-vector contact can be reduced by the use of conventional repellents being sold in the market,though some of these repellent are not environmentally friendly and *** have developed resistance to some of these *** this end,the phytochemical constituents and insecticidal activity of crude extracts of Hyptis suaveolens(bush mint)was determined on adult *** mosquitoes collected from Lafia,Nasarawa State,Nigeria to evaluate its effect in controlling ***,70%ethanolic and diethyl ether fat crude extracts were made from *** dried leaves and used to carry out the *** phytochemical screening of the ethanol extract revealed the presence of alkaloids,flavonoid,saponins,tannins,steroids and reducing *** was not detected in the ethanol *** steroids was detected in diethyl ether extract the rest of the phytochemical tested were *** larvae were collected from the field and were raised to f1 progeny adults that were used for the *** protocol for carrying out human bait repellency cage test was *** hand treated with the extracts was exposed to a cage containing 30 female mosquitoes for each of the extracts *** ethanolic crude extract treatment proved to be more effective in repelling mosquitoes with 0%(0/30)mosquito landing than diethyl ether extract which had 40%(12/30)mosquitoes landing and the control hand(untreated left hand)had the highest landing rate 63.3%(19/30)which showed very high significant difference(χ^(2)=27.2619,df=2,Pf exposed mosquitoes was observed to be highest in the ethanolic treatment 73.3%(22/30).In conclusion,*** extracts have repellency potential in controlling adult ***.

Vector surveillance is very key in solving mosquito-borne health problems in *** this end,the composition and distribution of mosquito vectors in a peri-urban community surrounding an institution of learning in Lafia metropolis,Nasarawa State,Central Nigeria was carried out between December 2016 and June *** Prokopack Aspirator was used to collect indoor resting mosquitoes between 6:00 *** 9:00 *** 30 randomly selected *** collected were knocked down and transferred into a well labelled petri-dish and taken to the laboratory for processing.A total of 664 mosquitoes were collected which spread across Culex quinquefasciatus 572(86.14%),Anopheles gambiae 88(13.25%)and Aedes aegypti 4(0.60%).The abundance of mosquitoes in relation to seasons,species,sex,abdominal conditions as well as transmission indices across seasons significantly varied(Pf mosquito in relation to house types showed no significant difference(P>0.05).The inhabitants of the area should ensure that all drainages flow through so as to reduce mosquito breeding ***,members of the community should always protect themselves by sleeping under insecticide treated bed nets.

We report new measurements of the cross sections for the production of DD final states at theψ（3770）*** data sample consists of an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb^（-1）of e~＋e^-annihilation data produced by the BEPCⅡ collider and collected and analyzed with the BESⅢ *** exclusively reconstruct three D^0and six D~＋hadronic decay modes and use the ratio of the yield of fully reconstructed DD events（“double tags”）to the yield of all reconstructed D or D mesons（“single tags”）to determine the number of D^0 D^0and D~＋D^-events,benefiting from the cancellation of many systematic *** these yields with an independent determination of the integrated luminosity of the data sample,we find the cross sections to beσ（e~＋e^-→D^0D^0）=（3.615±0.010±0.038）nb andσ（e~＋e^-→D~＋D^-）=（2.830±0.011±0.026）nb,where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic,respectively.

Purpose:This study was conducted to report the safety and efficacy of pars plana-modified ahmed Glaucoma Valve PS2 in advanced secondary ***:We performed a prospective,interventional case series that included patients with advanced secondary glaucoma and uncontrolled intraocular pressure(IOP).Eleven eyes of nine patients with aphakic,neovascular,traumatic,inflammatory and pseudoexfoliation glaucoma were *** patients had pars plana vitrectomy before tube ***:One year after surgery,IOP was controlled(21 mmHg or less)in ten of 11 eyes(91%),seven(64%)did not need medical antiglaucoma *** IOP decreased from 32.2± 8.3 mmHg before surgery to 15.7± 7.7 mmHg postoperatively(P f topically used medications used decreased from 2.9± 1.2 to 0.545± 0.78(P f them without tube ligature),transient choroidal effusion(three eyes)and an intermediate increase in IOP(seven eyes).Tube exchange was performed in one eye and needling/bleb excision in two ***:Pars plana-modified ahmed Valve implantation is effective and safe in advanced *** ligature of the tube is necessary to prevent early *** followup of patients is needed to monitor variations of IOP within the first year.

JUNO is a multi-purpose neutrino observatory under construction in the south of *** publication presents new sensitivity estimates for the measurement of the △m_(31)^(2),△m_(21)^(2),sin^(2)θ_(12),and sin^(2)θ_(13) oscillation parameters using reactor antineutrinos,which is one of the primary physics goals of the *** sensitivities are obtained using the best knowledge available to date on the location and overburden of the experimental site,the nuclear reactors in the surrounding area and beyond,the detector response uncertainties,and the reactor antineutrino spectral shape constraints expected from the TAO satellite *** is found that the △m_(21)^(2) and sin^(2)θ_(12) oscillation parameters will be determined to 0.5%precision or better in six years of data *** the same period,the △m_(31)^(2) parameter will be determined to about 0.2%precision for each mass ordering *** new precision represents approximately an order of magnitude improvement over existing constraints for these three parameters.

The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)is a large liquid scintillator detector designed to explore many topics in fundamental *** this study,the potential of searching for proton decay in the p→νK^(+)mode with JUNO is *** kaon and its decay particles feature a clear three-fold coincidence signature that results in a high efficiency for ***,the excellent energy resolution of JUNO permits suppression of the sizable background caused by other delayed *** on these advantages,the detection efficiency for the proton decay via p→νK^(+)is 36.9%±4.9%with a background level of 0.2±0.05(syst)±0.2(stat)events after 10 years of data *** estimated sensitivity based on 200 kton-years of exposure is 9.6×1033 years,which is competitive with the current best limits on the proton lifetime in this channel and complements the use of different detection technologies.
