Transcriptome analysis reveals immune-related genes in tissues of Vibrio anguillarum-infected turbot Scophthalmus maximus

Turbot Scophthalmus maximus is an important mariculture fish species with high economic ***,the bacterial diseases caused by Vibrio anguillarum infection bring huge economic losses to the turbot aquaculture *** understand the immune response of the turbot against *** infection and to explore novel immune-related genes,the transcriptome analysis of turbot spleen and gills were conducted after *** *** expressed genes(DEGs)were identified in spleen and gill of the turbot amounted to 17261 and 16436,respectively.A large number of immunerelated DEGs were enriched in cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction signaling pathway,and the others by the kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes(KEGG)*** gene ontology(GO)classification analysis revealed that *** infection had the greatest effect on biological processes and cellular *** immune-related DEGs were identified in the spleen(cstl.1,egfl6,lamb21,v2rx4,calcr,and gpr78a)and gills(ghra,sh3gl2a,cst12,inhbaa,cxcl8,and il-1b)by heat *** proteinprotein interaction(PPI)networks were constructed to analyze the immune *** results demonstrate that the maturation and antigen processing of major histocompatibility complex(MHC)class II molecule,and calcitonin-or adrenomedullin-regulated physiological activity were important events in the immunity of turbot against *** *** the gills,the protein interactions in TGF-βsignaling pathway,production of inflammatory factors,and endocytosis regulation were most *** research laid a foundation for discovering novel immune-related genes and enriching the knowledge of immune mechanisms of turbot against *** infection.

Numerical Modeling and Technico-Economic Analysis of a Hybrid Energy Production System for Self-Consumption: Case of Rural Area in the Comoros

This study aims to provide electricity to a remote village in the Union of Comoros that has been affected by energy problems for over 40 years. The study uses a 50 kW diesel generator, a 10 kW wind turbine, 1500 kW photovoltaic solar panels, a converter, and storage batteries as the proposed sources. The main objective of this study is to conduct a detailed analysis and optimization of a hybrid diesel and renewable energy system to meet the electricity demand of a remote area village of 800 to 1500 inhabitants located in the north of Ngazidja Island in Comoros. The study uses the Hybrid Optimization Model for electric Renewable (HOMER) Pro to conduct simulations and optimize the analysis using meteorological data from Comoros. The results show that hybrid combination is more profitable in terms of margin on economic cost with a less expensive investment. With a diesel cost of $1/L, an average wind speed of 5.09 m/s and a solar irradiation value of 6.14 kWh/m2/day, the system works well with a proportion of renewable energy production of 99.44% with an emission quantity of 1311.407 kg/year. 99.2% of the production comes from renewable sources with an estimated energy surplus of 2,125,344 kWh/year with the cost of electricity (COE) estimated at $0.18/kWh, presenting a cost-effective alternative compared to current market rates. These results present better optimization of the used hybrid energy system, satisfying energy demand and reducing the environmental impact.

The flexible perovskite light-emitting diodes(FPelEDs),which can be expediently integrated to portable and wearable devices,have shown great potential in various *** FPelEDs inherit the unique optical properties of metal halide perovskites,such as tunable bandgap,narrow emission linewidth,high photoluminescence quantum yield,and particularly,the soft nature of *** present,substantial efforts have been made for FPelEDs with encouraging external quantum efficiency(EQE)of 24.5%.Herein,we summarize the recent progress in FPelEDs,focusing on the strategy developed for perovskite emission layers and flexible electrodes to facilitate the optoelectrical and mechanical *** addition,we present relevant applications of FPelEDs in displays and ***,perspective toward the future development and applications of flexible PelEDs are also discussed.

Garden pea productivity and qualities are hampered in zinc(Zn),boron(B),and molybdenum(Mo)deficient ***,the combination of micronutrients(i.e.,Zn,B,and Mo)and rhizobium is necessary to increase the productivity and quality of garden peas,since this management for garden peas is neglected in ***,the present study was made to assess the effectiveness of rhizobium inoculant singly or in combination with the micronutrients(i.e.,Zn,B,and Mo)on growth,yield,nutrient uptake,and quality of garden *** were:T_(1)=Control,T_(2)=Rhizobium inoculation at 50 g/kg seed,T_(3)=T_(2)+Zn_(3)Mo1,T_(4)=T_(2)+B_(2)Mo1,T_(5)=T_(2)+Zn_(3)B_(2),T_(6)=T_(2)+Zn_(3)B_(2)Mo1 and T_(7)=Zn_(3)B_(2)*** treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design and repeated all treatments in three *** application of 3 kg Zn,2 kg B,and 1 kg Mo ha^(−1)with inoculation of Rhizobium at 50 g kg^(−1)seed(T_(6))facilitated to increase of 44.8%in the green pod and 29.7%seed yield over *** same treatment contributed to attaining the maximum nodulation(25.3 plant^(−1)),Vitamin C(43.5 mg 100 g^(−1)),protein content(22.2%),and nutrient uptake as well as accumulation in garden *** all treatment combinations,treatment T_(6)was found superior to others based on microbial activities,soil fertility,and *** results of the study found that the application of 3 kg Zn,2 kg B,and 1 kg Mo ha^(−1)in combination with Rhizobium inoculation(50 g kg^(−1)seed)can improve the yield and quality of garden *** results of the study have the potential for the areas,where there is no use of Rhizobium inoculant or Zn,B,and Mo fertilizer for cultivation of garden pea.

This editorial introduces the potential of targeting macrophage function for diabetic cardiomyopathy(DCM)treatment by dipeptidyl peptidase-4(DPP-4)*** et al studied teneligliptin,a DPP-4 inhibitor used for diabetes management,and its potential cardioprotective effects in a diabetic mouse *** suggested teneligliptin administration may reverse established markers of DCM,including cardiac hypertrophy and compromised *** also inhibited the NLRP3 inflammasome and reduced inflammatory cytokine production in diabetic *** play crucial roles in DCM *** hyperglycemia disturbs the balance between pro-inflammatory(M1)and antiinflammatory(M2)macrophages,favoring a pro-inflammatory state contributing to heart ***,we highlight the potential of DPP-4 inhibitors to modulate macrophage function and promote an anti-inflammatory *** compounds may achieve this by elevating glucagon-like peptide-1 levels and potentially inhibiting the NLRP3 *** studies on teneligliptin in combination with other therapies targeting different aspects of DCM could be suggested for developing more effective treatment strategies to improve cardiovascular health in diabetic patients.

In this paper,we present a comprehensive system model for Industrial Internet of Things(IIoT)networks empowered by Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access(NOMA)and Mobile Edge Computing(MEC)*** network comprises essential components such as base stations,edge servers,and numerous IIoT devices characterized by limited energy and computing *** central challenge addressed is the optimization of resource allocation and task distribution while adhering to stringent queueing delay constraints and minimizing overall energy *** system operates in discrete time slots and employs a quasi-static approach,with a specific focus on the complexities of task partitioning and the management of constrained resources within the IIoT *** study makes valuable contributions to the field by enhancing the understanding of resourceefficient management and task allocation,particularly relevant in real-time industrial *** results indicate that our proposed algorithmsignificantly outperforms existing approaches,reducing queue backlog by 45.32% and 17.25% compared to SMRA and ACRA while achieving a 27.31% and 74.12% improvement in Qn ***,the algorithmeffectively balances complexity and network performance,as demonstratedwhen reducing the number of devices in each group(Ng)from 200 to 50,resulting in a 97.21% reduction in complexity with only a 7.35% increase in energy *** research offers a practical solution for optimizing IIoT networks in real-time industrial settings.

Impacts of multiple demand-side management strategies on microgrids planning: a literature survey

Demand-side management (DSM) schemes play a crucial role in managing renewable energy generation and load fluctuations by utilizing demand-response programmes (DRPs). This paper aims to provide a detailed overview of DRPs that help microgrid operators to keep costs and reliability within acceptable ranges. Additionally, this review paper provides a detailed economic load model for DRPs based on initial load, demand-response (DR) incentive, DR penalty and elasticity coefficients. This article also aims to guide researchers in identifying research gaps in DSM applications in microgrids by comparing various DSM schemes from different countries and regions in terms of DSM strategies, objective functions and optimization techniques. Furthermore, this study analyses the impact of DRPs on microgrid configuration from the perspective of utilities and customers, considering technical and economic performance metrics. As a result, it can be concluded that none of the studied cases provides models or guidelines for choosing appropriate DSM schemes that consider different consumer interests or load-type features. Furthermore, a few researchers have addressed the features of a modern price-based DR strategy, renewable generation-based dynamic pricing DR, which offers higher customer satisfaction than traditional DRPs. Network structures of various polymers have significant effects on their mechanical properties;therefore,numerous studies have investigated the constitutive relationship between symmetrical network structures and their rubber elasticity in ***,few studies have focused on asymmetrical network structures in polymers that undergo bond exchange reactions,selfassembly,or mechanochemical coupling—all of which are induced by transition probabilities of chemical bonding *** this study,an extended constraint junction and phantom network model is formulated using the tree-growing theory to establish a constitutive relationship between asymmetrical network structures and their rubber elasticity in polymers.A free-energy equation is further developed to explore working principles of configurational transitions on the dynamic rubber elasticity of symmetrical and asymmetrical network *** constitutive relationship between dynamic rubber elasticity and symmetrical and asymmetrical network structures has also been proposed for the gels undergoing mechanochemical and hydromechanical ***,the effectiveness of this newly proposed tree-growing model has been verified by comparing with the classical affine network model,finite element analysis,and the experimental results of gels reported in literature.

Effectiveness of external prestressing in enhancing the non-ductile hanger failure mechanism in reinforced concrete inverted T-beams

Recently,inverted T-beams have been used in reinforced concrete(RC)bridges to support transverse precast *** T-beams,contrary to practice with conventional beams,are loaded on the flanges upper *** loading configuration causes hanger failure due to the generation of vertical tensile stresses near the bottom of the *** key purpose of this study is to investigate the efficiency of vertical external prestressing stainless-steel bars in mitigating non-ductile hanger failure in reinforced concrete inverted *** experimental study on six inverted-T beams,including two un-strengthened specimens,was carried *** study showed that the value of the prestressing level had a considerable impact on the performance of hanger mechanism in relation to crack pattern,ultimate loads,cracking behavior,load-deflection,strains,and *** experimental results indicated that the suggested method for strengthening inverted T-beams had efficacy in reducing the seriousness of the non-ductile hanger failure and resulted in a strength increase of up to 53% when compared to that of the un-strengthened ***,two analytical models for estimating the hanger capacity and the average crack width of the strengthened RC inverted T-beams were *** models that were proposed exhibited a high degree of agreement with the experimental results.
