The Impact of Severity of Periodontal Bone Loss and the Levels of Glycated Hemoglobin (HbA1c) on the Periodontal Clinical Parameters of the 2017 World Workshop among Type 2 Diabetic Patients in Saudi Arabia

Background: Type-2 diabetic patients (uncontrolled levels of glucose blood) usually have periodontal diseases and alveolar bone loss. Objectives: The present study was designed to clarify the impact of severity of periodontal bone loss and the levels of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) on the periodontal clinical parameters of the 2017 World Workshop among type 2 diabetic patients in Saudi Arabia (Saudi and non-Saudi). Material and Methods: This study was done on 298 type 2 diabetic patients, selected from the internship clinics, College of Dentistry, King Khalid University, Abha, Saudi Arabia. The selection of patients was dependent on the levels of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), and they were categorized into controlled (7% HbA1c). All patients were divided according to the severity of periodontal bone loss into three groups, group I: mild periodontal bone loss, group II: moderate periodontal bone loss, and group III: severe periodontal bone loss. Clinical evaluation of periodontal diseases was carried out by clinical parameters according to the 2017 World Workshop. All data were collected and analyzed. A p-value of Results: The severity of periodontal bone loss were determined in controlled type 2 diabetics (7% HbA1c). An increased percentage of patients with severe periodontal bone loss was observed in uncontrolled type 2 diabetics (>7% HbA1c) (42.9%), as compared to controlled type 2 diabetics (7% HbA1c). Background: There are associations between the severity of periodontal diseases and some predisposing factors, such as age, race, and income rate. Therefore, the present study was designed to evaluate the extra-oral digital panoramic radiographic interpretation and clinical findings of stage IV periodontitis among some samples concerning Saudi/non-Saudi nationality. Material and Methods: The study comprised a random sample of 298 residents in Saudi Arabia referred to the internship program clinics at the College of Dentistry, King Khalid University. They were according to the age of participants as follows: youth (15 - 24 years), adults (25 - 64 years), and seniors (65 years and over) within two groups according to nationality (Saudi and non-Saudi). Clinical periodontal examination and radiographic extra oral digital panoramic radiographs were done, and then the periodontal parameters, the percentage of bone loss, and the pattern of bone loss were recorded. The data was collected, and the statistical analysis was performed with ANOVA test, Tukey’s test, Chi-square test, and T-test and considered a P-value at (p Results: The samples included 62 (20%) youth participants with mean of age (21.806 ± 3.390), 182 (57%) adults’ participants with mean age (42.802 ± 9.094), and 54 (23%) seniors participants with a mean age (69.074 ± 6.810). There were highly statistically significant differences in the comparison between the participants’ ages (P 0.05). Conclusion: At the end of this study, we concluded that there are alterations in clinical and radiographic and clinical findings of stage IV periodontitis with the alteration of participants’ ages and nationality.

Prognostic significance of peritoneal metastasis from colorectal cancer treated with first-line triplet chemotherapy

Recently software industry has paid significant attention to customizing software products across distributed *** the requirements of multiple clients across distributed borders is a crucial challenge for the software customization *** decision-making and local development at the client site are considered methods for reducing difficulties in communicating the requirements of multiple clients across distributed *** paper introduces a new model called the onshore development model(ODM)for accomplishing the customization requests in the distributed development process of *** model presents a scenario for enhancing the onsite development of specific requirements to reduce delays andmisunderstandings between the clients and the team *** model depends on moving the development process to the client’s *** empirical studies were conducted to evaluate the proposed model to measure its productivity,time performance,and cost *** proposed model has been compared with two other models:the basic model(BM),which allocates the decision-making process and the development process for teams at the vendor’s location,and the local decision-making model(LDec),which assigns the decision-making process for team at the client’s *** results of the empirical studies showed significant outperforming of the proposed model over the basic model and local decision-making model in productivity,time performance,and cost *** productivity of the proposed model improved by 39%and 10%more than the basic model and the local decision-making model,*** addition,the time performance of the proposed model became faster by 49%and 20.8%than the basic model and the local decision-making model,***,it reduced the total cost of the development process by 31%in terms of the salaries of all persons involved in requirements collecting,decision-making,and development.

Mining Patterns from Change Logs to Support Reuse-Driven Evolution of Software Architectures

Modern software systems are subject to a continuous evolution under frequently varying requirements andchanges in systems＇ operational environments. Lehman＇s law of continuing change demands for long-living and continuouslyevolving software to prolong its productive life and economic value by accommodating changes in existing software. Reusableknowledge and practices have proven to be successful for continuous development and evolution of the software effectivelyand efficiently. However, challenges such as empirical acquisition and systematic application of the reusable knowledge andpractices must be addressed to enable or enhance software evolution. We investigate architecture change logs -- mininghistories of architecture-centric software evolution -- to discover change patterns that 1） support reusability of architecturalchanges and 2） enhance the efficiency of the architecture evolution process. We model architecture change logs as a graphand apply graph-based formalism （i.e., graph mining techniques） to discover software architecture change patterns. Wehave developed a prototype that enables tool-driven automation and user decision support during software evolution. Wehave used the ISO-IEC-9126 model to qualitatively evaluate the proposed solution. The evaluation results suggest that theproposed solution 1） enables the reusability of frequent architectural changes and 2） enhances the efficiency of architecture-centric software evolution process. The proposed solution promotes research efforts to exploit the history of architecturalchanges to empirically discover knowledge that can guide architecture-centric software evolution.

A Novel Cultural Crowd Model Toward Cognitive Artificial Intelligence

Existing literature shows cultural crowd management has unforeseen issues due to four dynamic elements;time,capacity,speed,and *** variations are increasing the complexity level because each mass and event have different characteristics and ***,no prior study has employed the six Hofstede Cultural Dimensions(HCD)for predicting crowd *** study aims to develop the Cultural Crowd-Artificial Neural Network(CC-ANN)learning model that considers crowd’s HCD to predict their physical(distance and speed)and social(collectivity and cohesion)*** model was developed towards a cognitive intelligent decision support tool where the predicted characteristics affect the estimated regulation plan’s time and *** designed the experiments as four groups to analyze the proposed model’s outcomes and extract the interrelations between the HCD of crowd’s grouped individuals and their physical and social ***,the extracted interrelations were verified with the dataset’s statistical correlation analysis with a P-value<*** demonstrate that the predicted crowd’s characteristics were positively/negatively affected by their considered cultural ***,analyzing outcomes identified the most influential HCD for predicting crowd *** results also show that the CC-ANN model improves the prediction and learning performance for the crowd behavior because the achieved accepted level of accuracy does not exceed 10 to 20 epochs in most ***,the performance improved by 90%,93%respectively in some ***,all prediction best cases were related to one or more cultural features with a low error of 0.048,0.117,0.010,and 0.014 mean squared error,indicating a novel cultural learning model.
