The power consumption is considered to be the most importa.t fa.tor a.fecting the production cost of fer roma.ga.ese a.loy. Different pa.a.eters a.fecting the energy consumption for industria. production of high ca.bon ferroma.ga.ese HCFeMn were investiga.ed in a.closed submerged a.c furna.e. The a.a.ysis of industria. da.a.revea.ed tha. the most energy consumed fa.tors were the direct reduction by solid ca.bon, Boudoua.d rea.tion, meta. a.d sla. forma.ion, a.d decomposition of fluxing ma.eria.s （limestone a.d dolomite）. To reduce the energy con- sumption a.d minimize the energy losses in the production process of HCFeMn, it wa. recommended to use Mn blend with minimum Mn to Fe ra.io of 6 a.d lower SiO2 content or higher ba.icity. The a.ded coke must be a.justed a.cording to the ma.eria. ba.a.ce to prevent the over-coke a.d to minimize the highly endothermic ＂Boudoua.d rea. tion＂. In a.dition, it wa. recommended to work a. ba.ic sla.s with the ra.io of （Ca.＋MgO） to Si（）2 equa. to 1.0- 1.2 instea. of much higher sla. ba.icity. Furthermore, the ma.s losses ha. to be minimized through a.justing the ha.dling a.d cha.ging process a.d to ta.e ca.e of a.l meta. produced.

a.M To eva.ua.e the evolution, trends in surgica. a.proa.hes a.n d r e c o n s t r u c t i o n t e c h n i q u e s, a.n d i m p o r t a.n t lessons lea.ned from performing 1000 consecutive pa.crea.icoduodenectomies(PDs) for peria.pulla.y *** This is a.retrospective review of the da.a.of a.l pa.ients who underwent PD for peria.pulla.y tumor during the period from Ja.ua.y 1993 to a.ril 2017. The da.a.were ca.egorized into three periods, including ea.ly period(1993-2002), middle period(2003-2012), a.d la.e period(2013-2017).RESULTS The frequency showed PD wa. increa.ingly performed a.ter the yea. 2000. With time, elderly, cirrhotic a.d obese pa.ients, a. well a. pa.ients with uncina.e process ca.cinoma.a.d borderline tumor were increa.ingly selected for PD. The media. opera.ive time a.d postopera.ive hospita. sta. decrea.ed significa.tly over the periods. Hospita. morta.ity declined significa.tly, from 6.6% to 3.1%. Postopera.ive complica.ions significa.tly decrea.ed, from 40% to 27.9%. There wa. significa.t decrea.e in postopera.ive pa.crea.ic fistula.in the second 10 yea.s, from 15% to 12.7%. There wa. a.significa.t improvement in media. surviva. a.d overa.l surviva. a.ong the *** Surgica. results of PD significa.tly improved, with morta.ity ra.e nea.ly rea.hing 3%. Pa.crea.ic reconstruction following PD is still deba.a.le. The surviva. ra.e wa. a.so improved but the ra.e of recurrence is still high, a. 36.9%.

Ba.kground: Pa.crea.icoduodenectomy(PD) is the sta.da.d cura.ive trea.ment for peria.pulla.y tumors. The a.m of this study is to report the incidence a.d predictors of long-term surviva.( ≥ 5 yea.s) a.ter PD. Methods: This study included pa.ients who underwent PD for pa.hologica.ly proven peria.pulla.y a.enoca.cinoma.. Pa.ients were divided into 2 groups: group(I) pa.ients who survived less tha. 5 yea.s a.d group(II) pa.ients who survived ≥ 5 yea.s. Results: There were 47(20.6%) long-term survivors( ≥ 5 yea.s) a.ong 228 pa.ients underwent PD for peria.pulla.y a.enoca.cinoma. Pa.ients with a.pulla.y a.enoca.cinoma.represented 31(66.0%) of the long-term survivors. Prima.y a.a.ysis showed tha. fa.oura.le fa.tors for long-term surviva. include a.e a.s old, serum CEa.a.19-9 a.y tumor, postopera.ive pa.crea.ic fistula. R0 resection, postopera.ive chemothera.y, a.d no recurrence. Multiva.ia.e a.a.ysis demonstra.ed tha. Ca.19-9 a.ler tumor size [OR(95% CI) = 1.335(1.032–1.726), P = 0.028] a.d R0 resection [OR(95% CI) = 3.098(2.095–4.582), P a.tors for surviva. ≥ 5 yea.s. The prognosis wa. best for a.pulla.y a.enoca.cinoma. for which the media. surviva. wa. 54 months a.d 5-yea. surviva. ra.e wa. 39.0%, a.d the poorest wa. pa.crea.ic hea. a.enoca.cinoma. for which the media. surviva. wa. 27 months a.d 5-yea. surviva. ra.e wa. 7%. Conclusions: The ma.ority of long-term survivors a.ter PD for peria.pulla.y a.enoca.cinoma.a.e pa.ients with a.pulla.y tumor. Ca.19-9 a.ler tumor size, a.d R0 resection were found to be independent fa.tors for long-term surviva. ≥ 5 yea.s.
