Objective:To investigate Phlebotomus(P.)sergenti Parrot,1917(Diptera:Psychodidae)salivary gland antigens and their immune response in ***:Human volunteers were exposed to sand flies’bites in the laboratory,and following each exposure the size of induration was *** mean protein concentration of salivary gland lysate and specific *** saliva IgG was *** fly salivary proteins were separated by SDS-PAGE and their immunoreactivity was examined by Western blotting ***:Individuals exposed to *** salivary gland lysate for 8 months showed both antibody and delayed type hypersensitivity responses,although exposure for one month did not provoke any immune *** trend of antibody fluctuated during the exposure time and dropped by the end of antigen *** mean protein content was(0.36±0.08)μg in each pair salivary *** gland lysate showed 11 to 12 major protein bands and 3 to 6 of them were ***:Our study showed that the salivary gland components of *** provoked both cellular and humoral immune responses in ***,there are some immunogenic proteins in *** saliva which could be subjected for further investigation as vector-based vaccine candidate/s against anthroponotic cutaneous leishmaniasis.

The Arcsine-X Family of Distributions with Applications to Financial Sciences

The heavy-tailed distributions are very useful and play a major role in actuary and financial management *** are often searching for such distributions to provide the best fit to financial and economic data *** the current study,a prominent method to generate new distributions useful for modeling heavy-tailed data is *** proposed family is introduced using trigonometric function and can be named as the Arcsine-X family of *** the purposes of the demonstration,a specific sub-model of the proposed family,called the Arcsine-Weibull distribution is *** max-imum likelihood estimation method is adopted for estimating the parameters of the Arcsine-X *** resultant estimators are evaluated in a detailed Monte Carlo simulation *** illustrate the Arcsine-Weibull two insurance data sets are *** of the Arcsine-Weibull model is done with the well-known two parameters and four parameters *** competitive models including the Weibull,Lomax,Burr-XII and beta Weibull *** goodness of fit measures are taken into account to determine the useful-ness of the Arcsine-Weibull and other considered *** analysis shows that the Arcsine-Weibull distribution works much better than competing models in financial data analysis.

Ship Roll Analysis Using CFD-Derived Roll Damping:Numerical and Experimental Study

This study investigates the roll decay of a fishing vessel by experiments and computational fluid dynamics(CFD)simulations.A fishing vessel roll decay is tested experimentally for different initial roll *** roll decay is also simulated numerically by CFD simulations and is validated against the experimental *** shows that the roll damping could be obtained by CFD with high level of *** linear and nonlinear damping terms are extracted from the CFD roll decay results and are used in a potential-based *** this way we are using a hybrid solver that benefits the accuracy of the CFD results in terms of roll damping estimation and the fast computations of the potential-based solver at the same *** hybrid method is used for reproducing the free roll decays at Fn=0 and also in analyzing some cases in *** experiments,CFD and the hybrid parts are described in *** is shown that the suggested method is capable of doing the simulations in a very short time with high level of *** strategy could be used for many seakeeping analyses.

Plague has been known since ancient times as a re-emerging infectious disease,causing considerable socioeconomic burden in regional *** better understand the epidemiological cycle of the causative agent of the plague,its potential occurrence,and possible future dispersion,one must carefully consider the taxonomy,distribution,and ecological requirements of reservoir-species in relation either to natural or human-driven changes(*** change or urbanization).In recent years,the depth of knowledge on species taxonomy and species composition in different landscapes has undergone a dramatic expansion,driven by modern taxonomic methods such as synthetic surveys that take into consideration morphology,genetics,and the ecological setting of captured animals to establish their species ***,we consider the recent taxonomic changes of the rodent species in known plague reservoirs and detail their distribution across the world,with a particular focus on those rodents considered to be keystone host species.A complete checklist of all known plague-infectable vertebrates living in plague foci is provided as a Supporting Information table.

Thermosensetive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)-based magnetic nanoparticles were synthesized by free radical polymerization of N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPPAMs), methacrylic acid (MAA), and vinyl pyrrolidone (VP) in the presence of methylene-bis-acrylamide as cross linking agent. The Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticls were prepared by chemical precipitation of Fe salts in the ratio of 1:2 under alkaline and inert condition. Thermosensitive crosslinked P (NI-PAAM-MAA-VP) copolymers were characterized by FT-IR and H-NMR. The pH and thermosensitive copolymer was used for preparation of drug loaded magnetic nanoparticles, and doxorubicin (DOX) was used as a typical anticancer drug. The amount of the loaded drug and drug release amount were determined by UV measurements. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and lower critical solution temperature (LCST) were used to determine the particle surface morphology and the phase transition temperature of the nanoparticles respectively. The release behavior of DOX at pH = 7.4 and 37°C was studied. The result indicated that this thermosensetive magnetic nanoparticle has a high drug loading capacity and favorable linear release property for DOX without initial burst release. Thus this system is promising for the application in targeted smart anticancer drug delivery.
