Intra-tumor heterogeneity is now arguably one of the most-studied topics in tumor biology,as it represents a major obstacle to effective cancer *** tumor cells are highly diverse at genetic,epigenetic,and phenotypic levels,intra-tumor heterogeneity can be assumed as an important contributing factor to the nullification of chemotherapeutic effects,and recurrence of the *** on the role of heterogeneous subpopulations of cancer cells with varying cell-cycle dynamics and behavior during cancer progression and treatment;herein,we aim to establish a comprehensive definition for adaptation of neoplastic cells against *** discuss two parallel and yet distinct subpopulations of tumor cells that play pivotal roles in reducing the effects of chemotherapy:"resistant"and"tolerant"***,this review also highlights the impact of the quiescent phase of the cell cycle as a survival mechanism for cancer *** understanding the mechanisms under-lying the quiescence,it provides an insightful perspective on cancer stem cells(CsCs)and their dual and intertwined functions based on their cell cycle state in response to ***-over,CSCs,epithelial-mesenchymal transformed cells,circulating tumor cells(CTCs),and disseminated tumor cells(DTCs),which are mostly in a quiescent state of the cell cycle are proved to have multiple biological links and can be implicated in our viewpoint of cell cycle heterogeneity in ***,increasing our knowledge of cell cycle heterogeneity is a key to identifying new therapeutic solutions,and this emerging concept may provide us with new opportunities to prevent the dreadful cancer recurrence.

Isolation and molecular identification of cellulolytic bacteria from Dig Rostam hot spring and study of their cellulase activity

Cellulose is the main structural component of lignocellulosic wastes that can be converted to sugars and biofuels by *** to wide applications of this enzyme in various industries around the world,cellulase is considered as the third industrial *** ability of thermophilic bacteria in the production of heat-stable cellulases has made them valuable tools in *** aim of this study was isolation and molecular identification of cellulolytic thermophile bacteria from Dig Rostam hot spring and investigating their cellulase *** were taken from water and sediments of this hot spring,and cellulolytic bacteria were enriched in media containing cellulose as the only carbon *** bacteria were incubated at 60℃,and single colonies were then isolated on solid *** red assay was used as a quick test for the qualitative screening of cellulase *** to these qualitative results,four colonies named CDB1,CDB2,CDB3,and CDB4 were isolated,and their growth curve and some other characteristics were determined by biochemical ***,endoglucanase,exoglucanase,and FPase activities of the isolates were investigated *** indicated that CDB1 exhibited the highest endoglucanase(0.096 U/mL)and exoglucanase(0.156 U/mL)activities among other isolates.16S rDNA partial sequencing indicated that CDB1 had 99%similarity to the genus Anoxybacillus,and the other isolates showed the highest similarity to the genus *** cellulase gene of CDB1 isolate with the highest cellulase activity was also cloned,and its sequence is reported for the first *** studies on this thermophilic enzyme might be useful for industrial applications.

Intravenous transplantation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells promotes neural regeneration after traumatic brain injury

To investigate the supplement of lost nerve cells in rats with traumatic brain injury by intravenous administration of allogenic bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, this study established a Wistar rat model of traumatic brain injury by weight drop impact acceleration method and administered 3 × 106 rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells via the lateral tail vein. At 14 days after cell transplantation, bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells differentiated into neurons and astrocytes in injured rat cerebral cortex and rat neurological function was improved significantly. These findings suggest that intravenously administered bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells can promote nerve cell regeneration in injured cerebral cortex, which supplement the lost nerve cells.

Emerging insights into the function of very long chain fatty acids at cerebellar synapses

Very long chain-saturated and-polyunsaturated fatty acids(VLC-SFA and VLC-PUFA, respectively) are a functionally important class of fatty acids containing 28 carbons or more in their acyl chain. They are synthesized by the elongation of very long fatty acids-4(ELOVL4) enzyme, expressed mainly in the brain, retina, skin, testes, and meibomian gland, where these fatty acids are found(Agbaga et al., 2008). Further, these organs exhibit tissuespecific VLC-PUFA and VLC-SFA biosynthesis and incorporation into complex lipids for specific functions. In the brain, skin, and Meibomian glands, the ELOVL4 mainly makes VLC-SFA, which are incorporated into complex sphingolipids. In the retina, the ELOVL4 makes VLC-PUFA that are incorporated into phosphatidylcholine, that are critical for visual function, while in testes and sperm, the VLC-PUFA are incorporated into sphingolipids that are critical for fertility(Yeboah et al., 2021).

Kinetic grain growth, shape memory and corrosion behavior of two Cu-based shape memory alloys after thermomechanical treatment

Metallurgical and mechanical properties along with shape memory and corrosion behavior of Cu-11.8% AI-3.7% Ni-1 %Mn and Cu-11% A1 5.6% Mn shape memory alloys （SMAs） were comparatively studied. The influence of grain refinement on the properties was studied by optical microscopy （OM）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, differential scanning calorimetry （DSC）, potentiodynamic polarizations and bend and tensile tests. Static recrystallization and kinetic grain growth show a rapid recrystallization in the first 15 s of annealing at 800℃ followed by grain growths. The minimum grain sizes obtained after 15 s are 90 and 260 μm for Cu-A1-Ni-Mn and Cu-A1-Mn, respectively. Tensile tests show typical three-stage curves for both alloys, and it is seen that alloys exhibit high fracture stress and strain after grain refinement. Microstructural observations show zig-zag morphology of β 1martensite in the Cu-A1-Ni-Mn and coexistence of β1 and y1 in the Cu-A1-Mn, which were confirmed by differential scanning calorimetry results. The shape memory ratios （17） of the alloys before thermomechanieal treatment, and after thermomechanical annealing at 800 ℃ for different time up to 15 min followed by water quenching, were evaluated. In addition, corrosion behavior of alloys after grain refinement was analyzed by means of potentiodynamic polarization measurements. The results showed that the anodic reactions were dominated by dissolution of copper, and Cu-AI-Ni-Mn alloy exhibits a better corrosion resistance than Cu-A1-Mn alloy.

The impact of Persian oak (Quercus brantii Lindl.) on soil characteristics in a declining forest

Root activity has an important impact on soil development but we have little knowledge of the interaction of the root zone and soil genetic *** aim of this investigation was to study the interactions between soil chemical characteristics and root zone processes in a declining Persian oak forest(Quercus brantii Lindl.).A randomized complete block design was used to investigate the long-term eff ect of Persian oak on soil horizons,and the chemical and biological properties in two soil zones(under and outside the canopy).Results indicate that the rhizosphere zone had signifi cantly higher total organic carbon(TOC)than outside the canopy soil in the upper soil *** subsurface horizons,water-extractable organic carbon values were signifi cantly higher in rhizosphere than in non-rhizospheric *** biomass carbon(MBC)values in the rhizospheric zone decreased from the fi rst to the second *** MBC/TOC ratio indicated signifi-cant diff erences between the rhizosphere and soils outside of the canopy,with the exception of the subsurface *** the subsurface horizon of the rhizosphere,there was greater respiration of organic carbon(ΣCO 2/TOC)than in outside of canopy *** addition,root processes infl uenced pH,nitrogen fractions,and availability of phosphorus,potassium,iron,zinc and *** erences in soil characteristics between rhizospheric and non-rhizospheric zones were signifi cant in surface horizons due to higher root density than in deeper soil *** fi ndings indicate that Persian oak(Quercus brantii Lindl.)roots infl uenced the main soil chemical properties,even in calcareous soils.

Anti-leishmanial,immunomodulatory and anti-oxidative activity of quercetin against cutaneous leishmaniasis caused by Leishmania major

Objective:To evaluate the in vitro and in vivo efficacy of quercetin and its immunomodulatory and anti-oxidative activity against Leishmania major(***).Methods:*** promastigotes and amastigotes were incubated with different concentrations of quercetin to estimate EC_(50).For in vivo study,the base of tails of mice was infected with *** developing ulcers in the inoculation site,mice were treated with 50 mg/kg quercetin orally for 28 consecutive *** wound-healing potential of quercetin was evaluated by histopathological analysis of tissue sections stained by hematoxylin and eosin as well as Masson's *** addition,the levels of tumor necrosis factor-α,interleukin-6,malondialdehyde,and adiponectin,the ferric reducing ability of plasma,as well as superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase activities were ***:The EC_(50)values of quercetin against *** promastigotes and intracellular amastigotes were 0.27 and 0.85μM,*** analysis showed that fewer inflammatory cells,more fibroblasts,and more collagen deposition were observed in tissue sections of quercetin-treated *** addition,treatment with quercetin markedly increased glutathione peroxidase activity,the ferric reducing ability of plasma and adiponectin levels while decreasing malondialdehyde,interleukin-6,and tumor necrosis factor-α***:Quercetin shows anti-leishmanial activity,immunomodulatory,anti-oxidative,and anti-inflammatory ***,it may be further explored as an effective drug in treating leishmaniasis.

Efficacy of voriconazole on leishmaniasis by Leishmania major: An in vitro and in vivo study

Objective: To appraise the activity of voriconazole against Leishmania major(L. major) in vitro and its effectiveness on wound regeneration in cutaneous leishmaniasis in BALB/c mice Methods: The IC_(50) of voriconazole against promastigotes and intra-macrophage amastigotes of L. major was investigated in vitro. The in vivo study was performed by treating the L. major infected BALB/c mice. When the wounds appeared in the base of tail, treatment was started by administration of 30 mg/kg voriconazole for 28 consecutive days orally. Results: The IC_(50) of voriconazole against promastigotes and intra-macrophage amastigotes were 0.74 and 0.89μM, respectively. Voriconazole decreased lipid peroxidation and IL-6 level. Histopathologica findings indicated accelerated healing in the voriconazole treated group compared to other groups. Conclusions: Our results demonstrate that voriconazole can be an option in treating the cutaneous leishmaniasis by L. major.

Magnetic metal organic framework for pre-concentration of ampicillin from cow milk samples

The aim of this study is a present of a simple solvothermal synthesis approach to preparation of Cu-based magnetic metal organic framework(MMOF)and subsequently its application as sorbent for ultrasound assisted magnetic solid phase extraction(UAMSPE)of ampicillin(AMP)from cow milk samples prior to high performance liquid chromatography-Ultraviolet(HPLC-UV)*** of prepared MMOF were fully investigated by different techniques which showed the exclusive properties of proposed sorbent in terms of proper functionality,desirable magnetic property and also high specific surface *** influential factors on extraction recovery including sorbent dosage,ultrasonic time,washing solvent volume and eluent solvent volume were assessed using central composite design(CCD)based response surface methodology(RSM)as an operative and powerful optimization *** is the first report for determination of AMP using *** proposed method addressed some drawbacks of other methods and sorbents for determination of *** presented method decreases the extraction time(4 min)and also enhances adsorption capacity(250 mg/g).Moreover,the magnetic property of presented sorbent(15 emu/g)accelerates the extraction process which does not need filtration,centrifuge and precipitation *** the optimized conditions,the proposed method is applicable for linear range of 1.0-5000.0 μg/L with detection limit of 0.29 μg/L,satisfactory recoveries(≥95.0%)and acceptable repeatability(RSD less than 4.0%).The present study indicates highly promising perspectives of MMOF for highly effective analysis of AMP in complicated matrices.
