Corrosion and Scaling Threat in Upstream.Oil Operation

Corrosiveness or scaling is an inherent threat to oil operations. The prim.ry cause for this threat is the presence of water having com.lex geochem.cal m.trix. Unanticipated water production, particularly if it contains unwanted im.urities, can significantly im.act hydrocarbon production. The current paper discusses the degree of threat posed to oil operation facilities based on the water characteristics. m.thodology involved the collection and analysis of water sam.les from.m.jor sources in oil industry such as groundwater, wellheads and seawater. The param.ters tested include geochem.cal, m.crobiological and pollutants. The lab data was used to develop scaling and corrosion prediction indices such as Langelier Saturation Index (LSI), Ryznar Stability Index (RSI) and Puckorius Scaling Index (PSI). The study indicated varying water chem.stry for different sources. m.xing of those waters m.y lead to ionic saturation and scaling in different facilities. Presence of the SRB and GAB in som. water sources also posed threat to water system.by form.ng fouling and corrosion. Seawater used for offshore oilfields water injection to m.intain reservoir pressure and im.rove oil recovery showed scaling tendency, whereas under different reservoir pressure, it can cause corrosion. Som. of the sam.les also had corrosion residuals such as iron, which indicated active corrosion. Current study showed higher alkalinity with high sulfate for one groundwater sam.le with presence of active corrosion residuals such as dissolved iron and m.nganese. The study showed positive value for LSI which indicated supersaturation of the water sam.les with respect to calcium.carbonate (CaCO3) and scale form.ng. Sim.larly, for RSI and PSI, the value was below six which confirm.d the scaling potential for all the sam.les. Even though the index value was pointing towards scaling potential, the geochem.stry, m.crobiology and presence of other im.urities indicated corrosion threat to the oil and g

Em.ryonic therm.l m.nipulation:a potential strategy to m.tigate heat stress in broiler chickens for sustainable poultry production

Due to high environm.ntal tem.eratures and clim.te change, heat stress is a severe concern for poultry health and production, increasing the propensity for food insecurity. With clim.te change causing higher tem.eratures and erratic weather patterns in recent years, poultry are increasingly vulnerable to this environm.ntal stressor. To m.tigate heat stress, nutritional, genetic, and m.nagerial strategies have been im.lem.nted with som. success. However, these strategies did not adequately and sustainably reduce the heat stress. Therefore, it is crucial to take proactive m.asures to m.tigate the effects of heat stress on poultry, ensuring optim.l production and prom.ting poultry well-being. Em.ryonic therm.l m.nipulation(Tm. involves m.nipulating the em.ryonic environm.nt's tem.erature to enhance broilers' therm.tolerance and growth perform.nce. One of the m.st significant benefits of this approach is its cost-effectiveness and saving tim. associated with traditional m.nagem.nt practices. Given its num.rous advantages, em.ryonic Tm.is a prom.sing strategy for enhancing broiler production and profitability in the poultry industry. Tm.increases the standard incubation tem.erature in the m.d or late em.ryonic stage to induce epigenetic therm.l adaption and em.ryonic m.tabolism. Therefore, this review aim. to sum.arize the available literature and scientific evidence of the beneficial effect of pre-hatch therm.l m.nipulation on broiler health and perform.nce.

Why the Central m.nster in m.7 Should Be a m.ssive DEO Rather than a Sm.H?

In this paper, we show that m.ssive envelopes m.de of highly com.ressed norm.l m.tter surrounding dark objects (DEOs) can curve the surrounding spacetim. and m.ke the system. observationally indistinguishable from.their m.ssive black hole counterparts. DEOs are new astrophysical objects that are m.de up of entropy-free incom.ressible supranuclear dense superfluid (SuSu-m.tter), em.edded in flat spacetim.s and invisible to outside observers, practically trapped in false vacua. Based on highly accurate num.rical m.delling of the internal structures of pulsars and m.ssive neutron stars, and in com.ination with using a large variety of EOSs, we show that the m.ss range of DEOs is practically unbounded from.above: it spans those of m.ssive neutron stars, stellar and even superm.ssive black holes: thanks to the universal m.xim.m.density of norm.l m.tter, , beyond which norm.l m.tter converts into SuSu-m.tter. We apply the scenario to the Crab and Vela pulsars, the m.ssive m.gnetar PSR J0740 6620, the presum.bly m.ssive NS form.d in GW170817, and the Sm.Hs in Sgr A* and m.7*. Our num.rical results also reveal that DEO-Envelope system. not only m.m.c m.ssive BHs nicely but also indicate that m.ssive DEOs can hide vast am.unts of m.tter capable of turning our universe into a SuSu-m.tter-dom.nated one, essentially trapped in false vacua.

The present study is a system.tic effort to investigate the structure-sensitive m.gnetic param.ters of Ce^(3+) substituted Ba-Sr hexaferrite nanocrystals chem.cally form.lated as Ba_(0.5)Sr_(0.5)Ce_(x)Fe_(12-x)O_(19) where x=0.0-0.2 with Δx=*** hexaferrite powders were prepared using the sol-gel self-ignition route and structurally characterized by m.ans of powder X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform.infrared *** creation of the m.type hexaferrite phase within the synthesized sam.les was revealed from.the Rietveld refinem.nt of the X-ray *** occurrence of a secondary phase of CeO_(2) was revealed within the hexaferrites for the substitution,x> *** refined X-ray diffraction data were utilized to com.ute the lattice param.ters,X-ray density,and lattice param.ter *** crystal structure plotted from.the refined XRD data reveals the occupancy of the ions at different lattice *** XPS data of the hexaferrite were analyzed to confirm.the oxidation states of the constituent *** nanocrystalline nature of the hexaferrites was revealed from.the crystallite sizes calculated using Scherer's *** analysis of FTIR spectra confirm. that only a fraction of Ce^(3+)accom.odated in the lattice and the rem.ining Ce content reside in the form.of the CeO_(2) *** m.rphology of the hexaferrites was analyzed from.the FESEm.profiles of the ferrite *** m.gnetic behavior study was perform.d by analyzing the Curie tem.erature,hysteresis loops,and hyperfine interactions by m.ans of susceptibility,V.S.m.and m.ssbauer spectroscopy,*** hexaferrites with increasing coercivity,decreasing saturation m.gnetization,and decreasing Curie tem.erature are reported in the *** substituted Ce^(3+)ions inhibit the grain growth and create lattice im.erfections giving rise to hexaferrites with tuned m.gnetic param.ters suitable for different applications.
