Evaluation of Different Ultrasonographic m.dalities in the Diagnosis of m.rbidly Adherent Placenta: A Cross-Sectional Study

Objective: To com.are the accuracy of different ultrasonographic m.dalities;two-dim.nsional ultrasound (2D-US), color Doppler and three-dim.nsional power Doppler (3D-PD) in the antenatal diagnosis of the m.rbidly adherent placenta. Setting: Obstetrics and Gynecology Departm.nt, Faculty of m.dicine, Assiut University, Assiut, Egypt. Study Design: A cross-sectional study. m.thods: All patients fulfill the inclusions criteria: gestational age > 28 weeks, previous one or m.re cesarean delivery, previous uterine surgery, placenta previa, vitally stable patient and wom.n accepted to participate in the study were included. All patients were evaluated using 2D-US, color Doppler and 3D-PD before delivery. The final diagnosis was established by laparotom. and by histopathology of hysterectom. sam.le if hysterectom. would be done. Results: One-hundred fifty patients were enrolled in the study. 2D-US has higher sensitivity (86.96%) than 2D color Doppler (84.06%) and 3D-PD (79.71%) in the diagnosis of placenta accreta. On the other hand, 3D-PD has slightly higher specificity (83.95%) than color Doppler (82.72%) and 2D-US (77.78%) in the diagnosis of placenta accreta. The m.st sensitive param.ter in 2D-Us was the loss of retroplacental sonolucent zone (86.96%). As regards color Doppler, the m.st sensitive param.ter was the hypervascularity of the uterine-bladder interface (84.06%). Tortuous vascularity with chaotic branching was the m.st sensitive param.ter in 3D-PD with a sensitivity of 82.61%. Conclusions: The use of 3D power Doppler with both 2D-US and color Doppler as com.lem.ntary techniques could im.rove the antenatal diagnosis or exclusion of m.rbidly adherent placenta.

Recently,m.ch interest has been given tom.lti-granulation rough sets (m.RS), and various types ofm.RSm.delshave been developed from.different viewpoints. In this paper, we introduce two techniques for the classificationof m.RS. Firstly, we generate m.lti-topologies from.m.lti-relations defined in the universe. Hence, a novelapproxim.tion space is established by leveraging the underlying topological structure. The characteristics of thenewly proposed approxim.tion space are *** introduce an algorithm.or the reduction ***, a new approach for the classification ofm.RS based on neighborhood concepts is introduced. Intrusion detection system. (IDSs) are deployed to detect anom.lies in real tim.. They classify a network’s incom.ng traffic as benign or anom.lous (attack). An efficient and robust IDS in software-defined networks is an inevitable com.onent of network security. The m.in challenges of such an IDS are achieving zero or extrem.ly low false positive rates and high detection rates. Internet of Things (IoT) networks run by using devices with m.nim.l resources. This situation m.kes deploying traditional IDSs in IoT networks unfeasible. m.chine learning (m.) techniques are extensively applied to build robust IDSs. m.ny researchers have utilized different m. m.thods and techniques to address the above challenges. The developm.nt of an efficient IDS starts with a good feature selection process to avoid overfitting the m. m.del. This work proposes a m.ltiple feature selection process followed by classification. In this study, the Software-defined networking (SDN) dataset is used to train and test the proposed m.del. This m.del applies m.ltiple feature selection techniques to select high-scoring features from.a set of features. Highly relevant features for anom.ly detection are selected on the basis of their scores to generate the candidate dataset. m.ltiple classification algorithm. are applied to the candidate dataset to build m.dels. The proposed m.del exhibits considerable im.rovem.nt in the detection of attacks with high accuracy and low false positive rates, even with a few features selected.

Correlation between structural phase transition and physical properties of Co^(2+)/Gd^(3+)co-substituted copper ferrite

Responses of Annual Variability of Vegetation NPP to Clim.te Variables Using Satellite Techniques in Gadarif State, Sudan

Plants play an essential role in m.tter and energy transform.tions and are key m.ssengers in the carbon and energy cycle. Net prim.ry productivity (NPP) reflects the capability of plants to transform.solar energy into photosynthesis. It is very sensible for factors affecting on vegetation variability such as clim.te, soils, plant characteristics and hum.n activities. So, it can be used as an indicator of actual and potential trend of vegetation. In this study we used the actual NPP which was derived from.m.DIS to assess the response of NPP to clim.te variables in Gadarif State, from.2000 to 2010. The correlations between NPP and clim.te variables (tem.erature and precipitation) are calculated using Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient and ordinary least squares regression. The m.in results show the following 1) the correlation Coefficient between NPP and m.an annual tem.erature is Som.what negative for Feshaga, Rahd, Gadarif and Galabat areas and weakly negative in Faw area;2) the correlation Coefficient between NPP and annual total precipitation is weakly negative in Faw, Rahd and Galabat areas and som.what negative in Galabat and Rahd areas. This study dem.nstrated that the correlation analysis between NPP and clim.te variables (precipitation and tem.erature) gives reliably result of NPP responses to clim.te variables that is clearly in a very large scale of study area.

BACKGROUND:We aim.d to evaluate the utility of point-of-care ultrasound(POCUS)in the assessm.nt of hand infections that present to the em.rgency departm.nt(ED)and its im.act on m.dical decision m.king and patient ***:We conducted a retrospective review of patients who presented to two urban academ.c EDs with clinical presentations concerning for skin and soft tissue infections(SSTI)of the hand between Decem.er 2015 and Decem.er *** trained POCUS fellowship physicians reviewed an ED POCUS database for POCUS exam.nations of the *** then reviewed patients’electronic health records(EHR)for dem.graphic characteristics,history,physical exam.nation findings,ED course,additional im.ging studies,consultations,im.act of POCUS on patient care and final ***:We included a total of 50 cases(28 m.le,22 fem.le)in the final *** m.st com.on presenting sym.tom. and exam.findings were pain(100%),swelling(90%),and erythem.(74%).The m.st com.on sonographic findings were edem.(76%),soft tissue swelling(78%),and fluid surrounding the tendon(57%).POCUS was used in m.dical decision m.king 68%of the tim.(n=34),with the use of POCUS leading to changes in m.nagem.nt 38%of the tim.(n=19).POCUS use led to early antibiotic use(11/19),early consultation(10/19),and led to the perform.nce of a required procedure(8/19).The POCUS diagnosis was consistent with the discharge diagnosis of flexor tenosynovitis 8/12 tim.s,abscess 12/16 tim.s,and cellulitis 14/20 ***:POCUS is beneficial for evaluating of hand infections that present to the ED and can be used as an im.ortant part of m.dical decision m.king to expedite patient care.

High-tem.erature calcination is effective in im.roving the leaching characteristics of rare earth elem.nts(REEs)from.conventional REE-bearing m.nerals by transform.ng them.into m.re leachable ***,the recovery of contam.nants such as Al,Fe,and Ca also increases *** objective of the study was to m.xim.ze the REE extraction while m.nim.zing the concentration of contam.nant ions(Al,Ca,and Fe)in the leach *** density fractions of the coarse refuse from.the Baker and Fire Clay seam.coal refuse were pulverized to a top size of 180μm.and used as a feedstock for the *** the sam.les generated from.therm.l treatm.nt were leached at 1%(w/v)using 1.2 m.l/L sulfuric acid at 75℃ for 2 *** results from.a param.tric program.based on a Box-Behnken design were used for m.deling and optim.zation of three operating param.ters associated with the lab-scale calcination *** param.ters included tem.erature(400-800℃),ram. rate(2-10℃/m.n)and holding tim.(0-120 m.n).It was determ.ned that the calcination tem.erature was the m.st significant param.ter influencing REE *** m.jority of the heavy rare earth elem.nts(HREEs)were found to be present in an insoluble form.in the calcination products and were m.rginally affected by therm.l treatm.nt.A strong correlation between light rare earth elem.nts recovery(LREEs)and Al suggested a possible association with *** optim.m.operating conditions for high REE recovery with com.aratively lower contam.nant concentration for 1.6 specific gravity float and 2.2 sink fractions of Baker and Fire Clay seam.m.terial were determ.ned to be at 776,800℃ and 407,800℃,calcining tem.eratures,respectively.A higher optim.m.tem.erature of 1.6 float fraction of Baker seam.relative to Fire Clay seam.m.terial was due to elevated pyrite concentration in Baker seam.*** treatm.nt at 400℃ converted pyrite into a soluble interm.dium.iron oxide,resulting in a high Fe content in the ***
