New approach to formation of coatings on mg-mn-Ce alloy using a combination of plasma treatment and spraying of fluoropolymers

This paper presents a method of the formation of composite polymer-containing coatings on a mg–mn–Ce magnesium alloy by forming a ceramic-like layer using plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)and subsequent spraying superdispersed polytetrafluoroethylene *** coating composition and their morphological features were studied by SEm,EdS,GdOES,and *** presented data confirm the embedding of fluoropolymer in the PEO *** evaluation of the corrosion properties of the formed composite polymer-containing coatings indicates a decrease in the corrosion current density by more than 3 orders of magnitude in comparison with the base PEO *** incorporation of a fluoropolymer in a PEO layer by more than 32%increases the load value at which abrasion of the coating to the substrate occurs and reduces the wear of the coating by more than 27 fold in comparison with the PEO *** has been established that composite coatings possess hydrophobic properties:the value of the contact angle attains 152°.

in this paper, we present integral cross sections （iCS） for electron impact excitation of the n = 2 levels in helium in the impact energy range of 23.5 eV to 35 eV. The iCS of each final state, 2^3S, 2^1S, 2^3P and 2^1P, has been determined by integration of the angular differential cross sections （dCS） over all of 0° to 180°, where those dCS were obtained from both our previous experiments and the extrapolation using the convergent close coupling calculation. The present experimental iCS for the optically allowed 21P transition state are also compared with those obtained from the BE f-scaling method. Very good agreement between the experimental and BE f-scaled 21P iCSs is generally found in the measured impact energy region.

The impedance spectroscopy,electrical conductivity and electric modulus of bulk phenol red were measured,as a function of both frequency and *** neural networks(ANNs)were used for modeling its electrical *** two parts(real and imaginary)of its complex impedance(Z^*)were analyzed and the activation energy related to the electrical relaxation process was *** curves were plotted showing semicircles for the different *** AC electrical conductivity follows a power lawσac(ω)αω^η.The maximum barrier height Bm was derived for specific temperatures.A plausible mechanism for the AC conduction of bulk phenol red was deduced from the temperature reliance of the frequency *** dielectric data was analyzed using electric modulus as a *** addition,ANNs were used to model the impedance parts and the total electrical *** runs were tried,to obtain the best *** training and prediction results were compared to the equivalent experimental results,with a good match *** equation describing the experimental results was obtained mathematically,based on the use of *** outputs demonstrated that ANNs are an admirable tool for modeling experimental results.

This paper presents the results of studying the surface properties changes of a ther-moregulating coating based on polystyrene and silicafiller after proton irradiation with an en-ergy of 50 keV at afluence of 3�1015 cm�*** proton irradiation,the values of the contact angle of wetting with water increase by 3.5%and 14.9%for polystyrene and the coating,*** free surface energy(energy of the surface layer)of polystyrene and the coat-ings before and after proton irradiation was calculated using the Owens-Wendt-Rabel-Kaelble *** was a significant increase in the polarity of the polystyrene surface(gp increased by a factor of 2.2)after proton *** the coating,an increase in gp by a factor of 3.89 was observed after proton *** changes in the coating were presented by iR Fourier spectroscopy.A slight decrease in the absorption intensity of all characteristic bands compared to the unirradiated sample was *** was found that the irradiation of the coating with protons led to the formation of macromolecules with hydroxyl,carbonyl,and carboxyl bonds,as well as the formation of dimeric and oligomeric siloxane *** was also found that after irradiation of a pure polystyrene sample with protons,the value of the solar absorption as increased by only 4.2%;whereas for the coating with silicafiller,the value of as increased by 28.6%.

in this paper, we propose an iterative relaxation method for solving the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman-isaacs equation(HJBiE) arising in deterministic optimal control of affine nonlinear systems. Local convergence of the method is established under fairly mild assumptions, and examples are solved to demonstrate the effectiveness of the method. An extension of the approach to Lyapunov equations is also discussed. The preliminary results presented are promising, and it is hoped that the approach will ultimately develop into an efficient computational tool for solving the HJBiEs.

The presence of eclogites within continental crust is a key indicator of collisional *** within the Eastern Glenelg basement inlier of the Northern Highland Terrane(NHT)have been redated in order to provide more accurate constraints on the timing of collision within the northern arm of the Grenville *** eclogites yield dates of ca.1200 ma which are interpreted to record the onset of continent–continent interaction,and the NHT as a whole is thought to represent the lower plate in successive 1200–1000 ma collision *** Eastern Glenelg basement inlier is viewed as a fragment of the leading edge of the NHT continental basement that was partially subducted along a suture and then exhumed back up the subduction *** in ages of igneous protoliths and intrusive histories,and metamorphic events(this paper)between the NHT basement and the Laurentian foreland,suggests that they were separate crustal blocks until after ca.1600 *** therefore suggest that:(1)the NHT represents a fragment of Archean–Paleoproterozoic crust that was reworked within the ca.1.7–1.6 Ga Labradorian-Gothian belt,although whether it was derived from Laurentia or Baltica is uncertain,and(2)amalgamation of the NHT with the Laurentian foreland did not occur until the terminal stages of the Grenville collision at ca.1000 ma.

The Gartnerkofel borehole is one of the most thoroughly studied and described Permo-Triassic sections in the world. detailed bulk organic carbon isotope studies show a negative base shift from-24% to-28% in the Latest Permian which latter value persists into the Earliest Triassic after which it decreases slightly to-26%. Two strongly negative peaks of [-38% in the Latest Permian and a lesser peak of-31% in the Early Triassic are too negative to be due to a greater proportion of more negative organic matter and must be due to very negative methane effects. The overall change to more negative values across the Bulla/Tesero boundary fits the relative rise in sea level for this transition based on the facies changes. A positive shift in organic carbon isotope values at the Late Permian Event Horizon may be due to an increase in land-derived organic detritus at this level—a feature shown by allTethyan Permo-Triassic boundary sections though these other sections do not have the same values. Carbonate carbon isotope trends are similar in all sections dropping by2–3 units across the Permo-Triassic boundary. Gartnerkofel carbonate oxygen values are surprisingly, considering the ubiquitous dolomitization, compatible with values elsewhere and indicate reasonable tropical temperatures of 60 °C in the Latest Permian sabkhas to 20–40 °C in the overlying marine transition beds. increased landderived input at the Late Permian Event Horizon may be due to offshore transport by tsunamis whose deposits have been recognized in india at this level.

machining of shape memory alloys(SmAs)without losing the shape memory effect could immensely extend their ***,the wire electric discharge machining process was used to machine NiTi—a shape memory *** experimental methodology was designed using a Box-Behnken design approach of the response surface *** effects of input variables including pulse on time,pulse off time,and current were investigated on the material removal rate,surface roughness,and *** tests were performed to check the robustness of the generated empirical *** of the process parameters was performed using a newly formulated,highly efficient heat transfer search *** tests were conducted and extended for analyzing the retention of the shape memory effect of the machined surface by differential scanning *** addition,2d and 3d Pareto curves were generated that indicated the trade-offs between the selected output variables during the simultaneous output variables using the multi-objective heat transfer search *** optimization route yielded encouraging *** objective optimization yielded a maximum material removal rate of 1.49 mm^(3)/s,maximum microhardness 462.52 HVN,and minimum surface roughness 0.11μ*** Pareto curves showed conflicting effects during the wire electric discharge machining of the shape memory alloy and presented a set of optimal non-dominant *** shape memory alloy machined using the optimized process parameters even indicated a shape memory effect similar to that of the starting base material.
