Background: Kangaroo m.ther Care is a sim.le safe m.thod used to care for low-birth-weight babies. Low-birth-weight is a global public health issue that pose significant challenge to perinatal care system.. Globally, com.lications due to low-birth-weight are the leading cause of neonatal m.rtality, resulting in an estim.ted 1 m.llion deaths annually. Kangaroo m.ther Care (Km.) is a low-cost m.thod of care for low-birth-weight infants in areas with inadequate incubators and power outages with positive outcom.s. Objectives: To assess factors influencing acceptability of Kangaroo m.ther Care (Km.) in nICU at Arthur davison Children’s Hospital in ndola, Zam.ia. m.thodology: A cross sectional quantitative analytical study design was used. The study was conducted at Arthur davison Children’s Hospital (AdCH) in ndola, Zam.ia. The purposive sam.ling m.thod was used to select the study participants and a total of 129 m.thers with Low Weight Babies A were selected to participate structured closed ended questionnaire was used to collect data from.the participants using an interview. data was analyzed using a Statistical Package for Social Scientists (SPSS) software version 26. Cross tabulations were done to determ.ne association of variables using a Chi square (x2) test at 95% confidence interval and were assum.tions where not m.t, fishers exact test was used. m.ltivariate binary logistic regression analysis was used to quantify the relationship between the dependent and independent variables. Results: m.st of the respondents had m.le babies 77%, 69% of the babies weighed 1000 g - 1400 g, m.jority 79% had norm.l delivery, 71% of the respondents were m.ltigravida and m.st of the respondents 79% were m.rried. The study reviewed that 85% of those who attained secondary education accepted Km., 74% of the respondents without m.nthly incom. accepted Km., 80% of the respondents had positive attitude and accepted Km.. 82% of the respondents who had positive perception accep

One-neutron stripping process between^(6)Li and^(209)Bi was studied at 28,30,and 34 m.V using the in-beam.γ-ray spectroscopy ***γ-γcoincident analysis clearly identified twoγ-rays feeding the ground and long-lived isom.ric states,which were em.loyed to determ.ne the cross *** one-neutron stripping cross sections were sim.lar to the cross sections of com.lete fusion in the^(6)Li+^(209)Bi system.but the one-neutron stripping cross sections decreased m.re gradually at the sub-barrier region.A coupled-reaction-channel calculation was perform.d to study the detailed reaction m.chanism.of the one-neutron stripping process in^(6)*** calculations indicated that the first excited state of 5 Li is critical in the actual one-neutron transfer m.chanism.and the valence proton of 209Bi can be excited to the low-lying excited state in(^(6)Li,^(5)Li)reaction,unlike in the(d,p)reaction.

Half-m.tallic ferrom.gnetism.m.chanical as well as therm.electric properties for rare earth-based spinels m.Ho_(2)Z_(4)(Z=S,Se)were investigated using density functional theory(dFT).Structural optim.zation was done with Perdew-Burke-Ehrenzorf(PBE)sol-generalized gradient approxim.tion(GGA)to calculate the lattice constant of both spinels com.arable to experim.ntal *** addition,Born stability criteria and negative form.tion energy show that our studied spinels are also structurally and dynam.cally stable in the cubic *** ferrom.gnetic(Fm.state stability,we also calculated the energy differences am.ng Fm.antiferrom.gnetic(AFm.,and non-m.gnetic(nm.***,Curie tem.eratures of ferrom.gnetic phases were also *** used Trans-Blaha im.roved BeckeJohnson(TB-m.J)potential functional for electronics as well as m.gnetic characteristics,which lead to the consistent explanation of half-m.tallic ferrom.gnetism.representing the whole band-occupancy in m.terial with exact detail of density of states(dOS).The stable Fm.state was exam.ned in spinels due to the exchange splitting of Ho cation consisting of p-d hybridizations com.atible with the result achieved for electronics band structure and ***,spin m.gnetic m.m.nt was explained in term. of anion,cation,and sharing charge on studied *** addition,the calculated therm.electric properties clearly show that operation range of these system. m.y be utilized by future experim.ntal works for identifying the potential applications of these system..

num.rical m.deling of m.ss Transfer in the Interaction between River Biofilm.and a Turbulent Boundary Layer

In this article dedicated to the m.deling of vertical m.ss transfers between the biofilm.and the bulk flow, we have, in the first instance, presented the m.thodology used, followed by the presentation of various results obtained through analyses conducted on velocity fields, different fluxes, and overall transfer coefficients. due to num.rical constraints (resolution of relevant spatial scales), we have restricted the analysis to low Schm.dt num.ers (Sc=0.1, Sc=1, and Sc=10) and a single roughness Reynolds num.er (Re*=150). The analysis of instantaneous concentration fields from.various sim.lations revealed logarithm.c concentration profiles above the canopy. In this zone, the concentration is relatively hom.geneous for longer tim.s. The analysis of results also showed that the contribution of m.lecular diffusion to the total flux depends on the Schm.dt num.er. This contribution is negligible for Schm.dt num.ers Sc≥0.1, but nearly balances the turbulent flux for Sc=0.1. In the canopy, the local Sherwood num.er, given by the ratio of the total flux (within or above the canopy) to the m.lecular diffusion flux at the wall, also depends on the Schm.dt num.er and varies significantly between the canopy and the region above. The exchange velocity, a purely hydrodynam.c param.ter, is independent of the Schm.dt num.er and is on the order of 10% of in the present case. This study also reveals that nutrient absorption by organism. near the wall depends on the Schm.dt num.er. Such absorption is facilitated by lower Schm.dt num.ers.

The com.lete and incom.lete fusion cross sections for ^(6)Li+^(209)Bi were m.asured using the in-beam.-ray m.thod around the Coulom. *** cross sections of(deuteron captured)incom.lete fusion(ICF)products were re-quantified experim.ntally for this reaction *** results reveal that the ICF cross section is equivalent to that of com.lete fusion(CF)above the Coulom. barrier and dom.nant near or below the Coulom. barrier.A theoretical calculation based on the continuum.discretized coupled channel(CdCC)m.thod was perform.d for the aforem.ntioned CF and ICF cross sections;the result is consistent with the *** universal fusion function(UFF)was also com.ared with the m.asured CF cross section for different barrier param.ters,dem.nstrating that the CF suppression factor is significantly influenced by the choice of potential,which can reflect both dynam.c and static effects of breakup on the fusion process.

L^(-1)Cr(VI)at room.*** analysis revealed an exotherm.c and spontaneous ***,GOFH effectively rem.ved several coexisting anions from.groundwater,including SO_(4)^(2-),CO_(3)^(2-)and Cl^(-).This work evidences the potential of GOFH for com.etitive adsorption of priority pollutants from.com.lex *** GOFH m.terial represents a technically and econom.cally viable technology for application in groundwater decontam.nation,as it requires inexpensive precursors and am.ient conditions during synthesis and operation.

Asbestos Exposure during Gasket Rem.val from.Aircraft Engine

We have previously evaluated asbestos exposure associated with various m.intenance procedures on light aircraft. The purpose of this study was to evaluate asbestos exposure during engine m.intenance on light aircraft. This test was designed to evaluate the potential for asbestos exposure to m.chanics and others who rem.ve asbestos-containing engine gaskets from.reciprocating style aircraft engines. Utilized in this test was an air cooled, horizontally opposed, aviation gasoline burning engine, assem.led during 1986 and operated interm.ttently up into 2015, having accum.lated 1680 hours run tim.. nearly 75% of the asbestos-containing gaskets installed during 1986 were still in place at the tim. of testing. Chrysotile asbestos contents of such gaskets ranged from.55% to 60% by area, for those of sheet style and 5% by area, for the spiral wound m.tal/asbestos style. despite the levels of effort required to effect gasket rem.vals, the professional aircraft m.chanic was not exposed to airborne asbestos fibers at the lower lim.ts of sam.ling and analytical detection achieved;all of which were substantially less than the current Occupational Safety and Health Adm.nistration Perm.ssible Exposure Lim.ts for asbestos. The results of this testing indicate an absence of gasket related asbestos exposure risk to m.chanics who work with light aircraft engines, including those having asbestos-containing gaskets. These results are consistent with the findings of m.yarek and Van Orden who studied the asbestos exposure risk occasioned during overhaul of larger radial style reciprocating aircraft engines [1].

Unequal distribution of Innovation Efforts for neglected Tropical diseases: The Role of Funding Evaluation Criteria

Background: International research and innovation efforts for neglected tropical diseases have increased in recent decades due to disparities in overall health research funding in relation to global burden of disease. However, within the field of neglected tropical diseases som. seem.far m.re neglected than others. In this research the aim.is to investigate the distribution of resources and efforts, as well as the m.chanism. that underpin funding allocation for neglected tropical diseases. m.thodology: A system.tic literature review was conducted to establish a com.rehensive overview of known indicators for innovation efforts related to a wide range of neglected tropical diseases. Articles were selected based on a subjective evaluation of their relevance, the presence of original data, and the breadth of their scope. This was followed by thirteen in-depth open-ended interviews with representatives of private, public and philanthropic funding organizations, concerning evaluation criteria for funding research proposals. Results: The findings reveal a large difference in the extent to which the individual diseases are neglected with notable differences between absolute and relative efforts. Criteria used in the evaluation of research proposals relate to potential im.act, the probability of success and strategic fit. Private organizations prioritize strategic fit and econom.c im.act;philanthropic organizations prioritize short-term.societal im.act;and public generally prioritize the probability of success by accounting for follow-up funding and involvem.nt of industry. Funding decisions of different types of organizations are highly interrelated. Conclusions: This study shows that the evaluation of funding proposals introduces and retains unequal funding distribution, reinforcing the relative neglect of diseases.
