Extracorporeal liver support in severe alcoh.lic h.patitis

Th. severity of alcoh.lic h.patitis(ah) wh.ch.may coexist with.cirrh.sis varies greatly, from asymptomatic forms wh.ch.are detected in alcoh.lic patients with.ut any sign of liver disease, except laboratory abnormalities, to severe forms ch.racterised by deep jaundice, ascites, h.patic enceph.lopath. and low proth.ombin index. In h.spitalized patients th. mortality could be as h.gh.as 75%. Th. elevated number of th.rapeutic proposals reported for more th.n forty years reveals th. lack of efficacy of a particular modality. Even in th. most favorable trials, th. survival is already very poor and in some cases related to th. development of renal failure or h.patorenal syndrome. Th.re are some motivating reports concerning albumin dialysis as a support treatment in patients with.severe ah, eith.r alone or in combination with.oth.r ph.rmacological th.rapies. Th. favorable effects of albumin dialysis in patients with.severe ah suggest th.t th. procedure used alone or in combination with.oth.r th.rapies may h.ve a role in th.s clinical condition. Th.s will be particularly relevant to offer an alternative th.rapy in th.se patients, th.s being a potential bridge to recovery or to be listed for liver transplantation.

Mech.nical milling of fullerene (C60(C70)) was investigated to understand th. structural evolu-tion. Mech.nical milling could not destroy th. molecular structure of C60(C70), wh.le th. longrange periodicity of th. fCc crystalline structure was easiIy damaged. Longer miIIing time couldresult in th. formation of C60(C70) polymer, including C60 dimer.

AIM：To screen microRNAs（miRNAs） and set up target miRNAs in ***：Primary fibroblasts were isolated from pterygium and Tenon＇s capsule and *** analysis and Western blotting were performed to confirm th. culture of *** all,1733 miRNAs were screened in th. first step by using GeneCh.p miRNA3.0 *** miRNAs involved in th. path.genesis of pterygium were subsequently determined using th. following criteria：1） h.gh.reproducibility in a repetitive test;2） base log value of 〉7.0 for both.control and pterygial fibroblasts;and 3） log ratio of 〉1.0 between pterygial fibroblasts and control ***：Primary screening sh.wed th.t 887/1733 miRNAs were up-regulated and 846/1733 miRNAs were down-regulated in pterygial fibroblasts compared with.th.se in control *** th. 1733 miRNAs screened,4 miRNAs,namely,miRNA-143a-3p,miRNA-181a-2-3p,miRNA-377-5p and miRNA-411a-5p,met th. above-mentioned *** screening sh.wed th.t th.se 4 miRNAs were up-regulated in pterygial fibroblasts compared with.control fibroblasts and th.t miRNA-143a-3p h.d th. h.gh.st mean ratio compared with.th. miRNAs in control ***：miRNA-143a-3p,miRNA-181a-2-3p,miRNA-377-5p and miRNA-411a-5p are up-regulated in pterygial fibroblasts compared with.control fibroblasts,suggesting th.ir involvement in th. path.genesis of pterygium.

Many temperature indicators or sensors sh.w color ch.nges for materials used in food and medical ***, th.y are not h.lpful for a color-blind person or ch.ldren wh. lack judgment. In th.s paper, we introduce simply fabricated and more useful low-temperature indicator(~30 °C) for devices th.t actuates using paraffin-infiltrated multiwalled carbon nanotube(MWCNT) coiled yarn. Th. density difference of MWCNT yarn provides large strain(~330 %)wh.n h.at causes th. melted polymer to move. Furth.rmore, th. MWCNT yarn decreases th. melting point of *** properties allow control of th. actuating temperature. In addition, mech.nical strength.was enh.nced by MWCNT th.n previously reported temperature-responsive actuators based on sh.pe memory polymers. Th.s simply fabricated temperature indicator can be applied in latch.ng devices for medical and biological fields.

US Environmental Protection Agency in terms of：quantitation range,（0.5–4 to 15μg/m L）,linearity（r2〉0.9995）,sensitivity（LOD,0.18–1.4μg/m L）,precision（〈9.2%）,trueness（93.9%–103.7%）,and ruggedness（〈9.9%）.It was found th.t th. fungicides remain up to eigh. days in surface water at outdoor *** meth.d was used to screen th. presence of th. analytes in several waste water samples,and was proved to be useful in routine analysis.

Th. two 3h.4h. and 3h.＋4h. fusion reactions at low energies are usually viewed as an approximate external capture process. We study th. 4h.（3h.γ）rLi and 4h.（Sh.,γ）7Be reactions in a cluster model, wh.ch.can take into account two- and th.ee-body electromagnetic currents, using minimal substitution in th. explicit momentum dependence of th. two- and th.ee-cluster interactions. Our main goal is to explore h.w th. cross section of th. low-energy 3h.4h. or 3h.＋4h. capture reactions depends on energy. Th. astroph.sical S-factors for th.se reactions are calculated at very low energies. We construct th. conserved realistic Argonne v18 for two nucleons and Urbana IX or Tucson-Melbourne th.ee-cluster interactions, wh.ch.are considered for calculation. We also calculate th. binding energies and th. structural properties of a h.-4h. or 3h.＋4 h. systems. Th. binding energies are found to be -37.72 （-36.32） MeV and -39.35 （-37.43） MeV, with.（with.ut） th.ee-body interactions for 7Be and 7 Li, in satisfactory agreement with.oth.r th.oretical results and experimental data, respectively.

Th. surface acidity of synth.tic amorph.us AI h.droxide was determined by acid/base titration with.several complementary meth.ds including solution analyses of th. reacted solutions and XRD ch.racterization of th. reacted solids. Th. synth.tic specimen was ch.racterized to be th. amorph.us material sh.wing four broad peaks in XRD pattern. XRD analyses of reacted solids after th. titration experiments sh.wed th.t amorph.us AI h.droxide rapidly transformed to crystalline bayerite at th. alkaline condition （ph.10）. Th. solution analyses after and during th. titration Ksp=^aAl^3＋/ah^＋^3 ,was 10^10.3. Th. amount of consumption of added acid or base during th. titration experiment was attributed to both.th. protonation/deprotonation of dissolved AI species and surface h.droxyl group. Th. surface acidity constants, surface h.droxyl density and specific surface area were estimated by FITEQL 4.0.
