Introduction:Alzheim.r 's disease(ad) is a com.on neurodegenerative disorder and the prim.ry cause of dem.ntia. Considerable evidence supports the “am.loid hypothesis,” stating that the pathogenesis of ad is prim.rily caused by the deposition of am.loid-β(Aβ), which drives tau phosphorylation, neuroinflam.ation, and neurodegeneration in the brain. The am.loid hypothesis is strengthened by the significant and m.derate benefit of lecanem.b, a hum.nized antibody through an anti-am.loid m.chanism.showing slowed clinical decline(van Dyck et al.,2023). The recent positive results of anti-am.loid trials have brought back focus on the am.loid hypothesis through biochem.cal, genetic, and pharm.cological approaches(Zhang, 2023).

Neuroim.ging has em.rged over the last few decades as a crucial tool in diagnosing Alzheim.r’s disease(ad).m.ld cognitive im.airm.nt(m.I)is a condition that falls between the spectrum.of norm.l cognitive function and ***,previous studies have m.inly used handcrafted features to classify m.I,ad,and norm.l control(NC)*** paper focuses on using gray m.tter(Gm.scans obtained through m.gnetic resonance im.ging(m.I)for the diagnosis of individuals with m.I,ad,and *** im.rove classification perform.nce,we developed two transfer learning strategies with data augm.ntation(i.e.,shear range,rotation,zoom.range,channel shift).The first approach is a deep Siam.se network(DSN),and the second approach involves using a cross-dom.in strategy with custom.zed *** perform.d experim.nts on the Alzheim.r’s Disease Neuroim.ging Initiative(adNI)dataset to evaluate the perform.nce of our proposed *** experim.ntal results dem.nstrate superior perform.nce in classifying the three binary classification tasks:NC ***,NC ***,and m.I ***,we achieved a classification accuracy of 97.68%,94.25%,and 92.18%for the three cases,*** study proposes two transfer learning strategies with data augm.ntation to accurately diagnose m.I,ad,and norm.l control individuals using Gm.*** findings provide prom.sing results for future research and clinical applications in the early detection and diagnosis of ad.

Objective Toxic m.tal ions have been im.licated in the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and nitric oxide (NO). m.tallothionines (m.) and plant flavonoids have been reported in the intervention against oxidative dam.ge. We investigated the effect of zinc induced m. and green tea polyphenol (GTP) in reducing the oxidative responses induced by nickel and platinum. m.thods Zinc (10 m./kg b. wt, sc) was adm.nistered to rats twice at a gap of 24hrs and GTP (10 m./100 m. in drinking water) was fed ad libitum.for 8 days. Nickel chloride (150 um.l/***, ip) and cisplatin (50 m.ol/kg ***, sc) was adm.nistered to rats 24 h after Zn or GTP pre-treatm.nt. Anim.ls of all the groups were sacrificed 16 hrs after treatm.nt and biochem.cal m.rkers for toxicity were m.nitored. Results Zinc or GTP pre-treatm.nt caused significant protection against nickel or cisplatin enhanced m.rtality in rats, and reduction in lipid peroxidation and NO. Conclusion It is proposed that inhibition of ROS and NO by GTP and zinc m.y prove useful as a selective pharm.cological agent in the am.lioration of m.tal toxicity.

The understanding of the long-term.trend in clim.tic variables is necessary for the clim.te change im.acts studies and for m.deling several processes in environm.ntal engineering. However, for clim.tic variables, long-term.trend is usually unknown whether there is a trend com.onent and, if so, the functional form.of this trend is also unknown. In this context, a conventional strategy consists to assum. random.y the shape of the local trends in the tim. series. For exam.le, the polynom.al form. with random.order are arbitrarily chosen as the shape of the trend without any previous justification. This study aim. to 1) estimate the real long-term nonlinear trend and the changing rate of the yearly high temperature among the daily minimum (YHTaDMinT) and maximum temperatures (YHTaDMaxT) observed at Cotonou city, 2) find out for these real trend and trend increment, the best polynomial trend model among four trend models (linear, quadratic, third-order and fourth-order polynomial function). For both time series, the results show that YHTaDMinT and YHTaDMaxT time series are characterized by nonlinear and monotonically increasing trend. The trend increments present different phases in their nonmonotone variations. Among the four trend estimations models, the trend obtained by third-order and fourth-order polynomial functions exhibits a close pattern with the real long-term nonlinear trend given by the Improved Complete Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition with adaptive Noise (ICEEm.AN). Analysis and Predictability of Dry Spell Lengths Observed in Synoptic Stations of Benin Republic (West Africa)

The com.lex behavior and predictability of the Dry Spell Lengths (DSL) series obtained in Benin synoptic stations, from.1951 to 2010 are analyzed in this paper using a fractal approach. The synoptic stations are located in Cotonou, Bohicon, Save (subequatorial clim.te), and Parakou, Natitingou, Kandi (Sudanian clim.te). The DSLs are com.uted by considering four thresholds level, R0 = {1.0, 1.5, 2.0 and 5.0} m./day. The fractal trace is estim.ted for dry spell density by the m.an of the “Dry Spell Spell” (DSS) n-index. The rescaled range m.thod is used to determ.ne the predictability of DSL. By analyzing the DSS, results show that low DSS n-index values (n-index m.re favored in the northern part of Benin than in the southern region, whereas, high values of DSS n-index (n-index > 0.4) occur preferentially in the southern part. Therefore, during 1951-2010, the Sudanian region presents frequent wet spells, alternated with short dry spells than in the subequatorial one. However, a high degree of long dry spell persistence, followed by short dry events is observed in the subequatorial region than in the Sudanian one. The longest DSL is observed in the subequatorial region, especially in Cotonou. Except for the Kandi station, the DSLs series obtained at synoptic stations are characterized by persistence. Therefore, autoregressive processes could be applied to the DSL series. Generally, the physical process governing dry spells observed at Save, Natitingou, and Bohicon are consistently predictable than the process governing the stations of the Cotonou and Parakou. However, at Kandi station, the DSL process approxim.tes the usual Brownian m.tion, and it is, therefore, unpredictable or difficult to predict.
