Rheumatoid arthritis(RA) is the most common chronic autoimmune inflammatory joint disease. RA-associated interstitial lung disease(RA-ILD) is a major extraarticular complication and causes symptoms that lead to a deterioration in the quality of life, high utilization of health resources, and an increased risk of earlier mortality. Early in the course of RA-ILD, symptoms are highly variable, making the diagnosis difficult. Therefore, a rational diagnostic strategy that combines an adequate clinical assessment with the appropriate use of clinical tests, including pulmonary function tests and high-resolution computed tomography, should be used. In special cases, lung biopsy or bronchioalveolar lavage should be performed to achieve an early diagnosis. Several distinct histopathological subtypes of RA-ILD are currently recognized. These subtypes also have different clinical presentations, which vary in therapeutic response and prognosis. This article reviews current evidence about the epidemiology of RA-ILD and discusses the varying prevalence rates observed in different studies. Additionally, aspects of RA-ILD pathogenesis, including the role of cytokines and other molecules such as autoantibodies, as well as the evidence linking several drugs used to treat RA with lung damage will be discussed. Some aspects of the clinical characteristics of RA-ILD are noted, and diagnostic strategies are reviewed. Finally, this article analyzes current treatments for RA-ILD, including immunosuppressive therapies and biologic agents, as well as other therapeutic modalities. The prognosis of this severe complication of RA is discussed. Additionally, this paper examines updated evidence from studies identifying an association between drugs used for the treatment of RA and the development of ILD.

Background： The aim of this study was to design and assess the effects of hydroalcoholic extract of Matricaria chamomill^l （MC） on preantral follicle culture of mouse ovaries in a three-dimensional culture system. Methods： Isolated preantral follicles were randomly divided into three main groups： the control group containing 10% fetal bovine serum without MC extract （G1）, the first experimental group supplemented with 25 ktg/ml hydroalcoholic extract of chamomile （G2）, and the second experimental group supplemented with 50 p,g/ml hydroalcoholic extract of chamomile （G3）. Results： After 12 days of culture, the survival rate （P 〈 0.05）, antrum formation （P 〈 0.01）, metaphase two oocytes （P 〈 0.01）, and the expression ofPCnA （P 〈 0.05） and FSHR （P 〈 0.05） genes significantly decreased in G3 as compared with GI. On the other hand, at the last day of culture （day 12）, the mean diameter of follicles cultured in the medium which was supplemented with 50 lag/ml hydroalcoholic extract of chamomile significantly decreased as compared with the GI （P 〈 0.05）. In addition, the levels of progesterone and dehydroepiandrosterone hormones significantly increased in the medium of G3 relative to G I （P 〈 0.01）, while in the medium of G 1, the level of 17[3-estradiol was significantly higher than that of other groups （P 〈 0.01）. Reactive oxygen species levels of metaphase 11 oocytes were significantly decreased in G2 as compared with G1 （P 〈 0.01）. Conclusion： Adding chamomile extract to culture media appeared to decrease follicular function and development.

Long Term Follow-Up of Cardiotoxicity in Breast Cancer Treatment: A Case Report

Background: Cardiac toxicity is currently defined as a symptomatic decrease in Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction (LVEF) of more than 5% or an asymptomatic decrease of at least 10% to a value of under 50% in repeated evaluations on conventional transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE), as well as a Global Longitudinal Strain (GLS) value Aims: To highlight using GLS rather than modified Simpson 2D-LVEF for the evaluation of long-term cardiotoxicity. Case Presentation: The case concerns a 73-year-old female patient with a history of breast cancer chemotherapy and anthracyclines-based therapy who presented symptoms of late cardiac toxicity related to the chemotherapeutic treatment. In the following years, the patient remained asymptomatic with a 2D-LVEF of 48%, dilation of the left atrium was found, and the reservoir phase strain was severely decreased. Conclusion: The preferred method for evaluating cardiovascular complications associated with chemotherapy is the TTE, which is performed prior to the start of treatment, during therapy, and in the follow-up. Myocardial deformation as a predictor of cardiotoxicity allows the identification of subclinical heart failure.

The habanero chili （Capsicum chinense Jacq.） is a species of great demand in the domestic and international markets. One problem in the cultivation is low percentage of seed germination. There is little information on the use of promoters and imbibition time to increase this parameter, without compromising the quality of seedlings. In this context, authors assessed the independent effect of GAs （gibberellic acid） and KnOs at concentrations of 0, 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 mg·L1. Seeds without preconditioning were the witness. The experimental unit was a Petri dish with 50 seeds on filter paper placed equidistant. There were three replicates per treatment and the experimental design was randomized complete block. Imbibition time was 24 h. The experimental units were kept in an incubator at 22 ± 2 ℃. From the time of planting and for periods of 24 h for 14 d, experimental units were reviewed to determine the time at the beginning of germination and the total cumulative percentage. The authors also determined the number of normal and abnormal seedlings, the length of hypocotyl and radicle, weight of fresh and dry matter of seedlings. On the fifth day after sowing in vitro, concentrations of 500 mg·L^-1 of GAs, 300 and 400 mg·L^-1 KnO3, increased 208% the percentage of seed germination of habanero chile. On day 14 after sowing in vitro concentrations of 500 mg·L^-1 GA3, 300 and 400 mg·L^-1 KnO3, increased 23% normal seedlings and 40% dry matter thereof, with respect to seeds obtained without preconditioning. Unconditioned seeds before sowing produced 125% more seedlings.

We evaluated the pathogenicity of six strains 1. fumosorosea to determine their potential as biological control agents of A. ludens by performing bioassays under laboratory conditions （25 ± 2 ℃, 60± 5% R.H and 12：12 h L： D） exposing larvae and pupae to a concentration of 1 × 10^8 conidia per milliliter using three different methods： direct spraying, spray of soil and submerged for both instars. The results showed that direct spraying method Pfr-612 strain showed the highest mortality （47%） in pupae while for larvae was strain HIB-27 to 46%. Regarding spray of soil Pfr-612 strain showed the highest percentage of mortality for pupae and larvae with 45 and 57% mortality, respectively. Finally, for the submerged method in pupae HIB-27 strain showed 62% mortality whereas in larvae HIB-32 strain showed 46%. These results indicate that A. ludens is susceptible in at least two instars to L fumosorosea and make this fungus a promising agent for control of the Mexican fruit fly.

The present study investigated relationships between clozapine dose, clozapine and norclozapine plasma concentrations, and clinical responses to clozapine treatment in Tunisian schizophrenics. Fourteen schizophrenia-treatment resistant patients, recruited for this study, were treated with clozapine for 45 days. Patient health improvement was assessed before and after each cycle of two weeks of clozapine therapy, using the Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS). Plasma clozapine and norclozapine concentrations were determined by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). no significant correlations between plasma clozapine and norclozapine concentrations and clinical health improvement among our schizophrenic patients were found. However, a significant correlation was observed between clinical health improvement given by BPRS scores and norclozapine plasma concentration to daily clozapine dose ratio (nCZ/D). Despite the small sample size of our study, our findings suggest that the clozapine therapy response variations observed in our patients may be, in part, explained by the interindividual differences in plasma norclozapine concentration to clozapine dose ratio (nCZ/D). So the nCZ/D parameter could be used as a good indicator for adjusting the clozapine dose-adaptation strategy and consequently for improving the clinical psychopathological state of schizophrenia-treatment resistant patients.
