In present,there are increasing interests in the research on mechanical and control system of underwater *** ongoing research efforts are motivated by more pervasive applications of such vehicles including seabed oil and gas explorations, scientific deep ocean surveys,military purposes,ecological and water environmental studies,and also entertainments. However,the performance of underwater vehicles with screw type propellers is not prospective in terms of its efficiency and *** main weaknesses of this kind of propellers are the production of vortices and sudden generation of thrust forces which make the control of the position and motion difficult. On the other hand,fishes and other aquatic animals are efficient swimmers,posses high maneuverability,are able to follow trajectories,can efficiently stabilize themselves in currents and surges,create less wakes than currently used underwater vehicle, and also have a noiseless *** fish's locomotion mechanism is mainly controlled by its caudal fin and paired pectoral *** are classified into Body and/or Caudal Fin(BCF)and Median and/or paired Pectoral Fins(MPF).The study of highly efficient swimming mechanisms of fish can inspire a better underwater vehicles thruster design and its mechanism. There are few studies on underwater vehicles or fish robots using paired pectoral fins as *** work presented in this paper represents a contribution in this area covering study,design and implementation of locomotion mechanisms of paired pectoral fins in a fish *** performance and viability of the biomimetic method for underwater vehicles are highlighted through in-water experiment of a robotic fish.

Objective:To identify the relationship between interleukin(IL)-15 levels and sarcopenia in human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)-infected patients who have received antiretroviral ***:This study was a cross-sectional design with 70 participants conducted from January to March *** the participants were assessed for sarcopenia and the IL-15 *** was established based on the the Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia(AWGS)2019 *** IL-15 was *** analysis was carried out by means of 2×2 tabulation and the statistical test used is ***:Seventy patients received antiretroviral therapy>6 months and showed a good clinical *** them,36(51.4%)took zidovudine-based antiretroviral therapy with a median duration of illness of 5 *** proportion of sarcopenia in patients with HIV infection was 32.9%.The median CD4 cell count was 395.5 cells/L(range:203-937 cells/L).Logistic regression analysis revealed that age>50 years(aOR 8.3,95%CI 1.6-44.5),underweight(aOR 7.7,95%CI 1.5-40.5),IL-15≥150.5 ng/L(aOR 4.9,95%CI 1.3-19.0)and female(aOR 4.8,95%CI 1.2-18.3 were significant and independent adverse predictors of sarcopenia in subjects with HIV ***:There is an association between high levels of IL-15 and sarcopenia in HIV-infected patients on antiretroviral therapy for more than 6 months with good clinical response.

Background： The rapid gain in lean mass in neonates requires greater rates of protein synthesis than degradation. We previously delineated the molecular mechanisms by which insulin and amino acids, especially leucine, modulate skeletal muscle protein synthesis and how this changes with development. In the current study, we identified mechanisms involved in protein degradation regulation. In experiment 1,6- and 26-d-old pigs were studied during 1） euinsulinemic-euglycemic-euaminoacidemic, 2） euinsulinemic-euglycemiohyperaminoacidemic, and 3） hyperinsulinemic-euglycemic-euaminoacidemic clamps for 2 h. In experiment 2, 5-d-old pigs were studied during 1） euinsulinemic-euglycemic-euaminoacidemic-euleucinemic, 2） euinsulinemic-euglycemic-hypoaminoacidemic- hyperleucinemic, and 3） euinsulinemic-euglycemic-euaminoacidemic-hyperleucinemic clamps for 24 h. We determined in muscle indices of ubiquitin-proteasome, i.e., atrogin-1 （MAFbx） and muscle RING-finger protein-1 （MuRF1） and autophagy-lysosome systems, i.e., unc51-1ike kinase 1 （UKL1）, microtubule-associated protein light chain 3 （LC3）, and lysosomal-associated membrane protein 2 （Lamp-2）. For comparison, we measured ribosomal protein 56 （rpS6） and eukaryotic initiation factor 4E （elF4E） activation, components of translation initiation. Results： Abundance of atrogin-1, but not MuRF1, was greater in 26- than 6-d-old pigs and was not affected by insulin, amino acids, or leucine. Abundance of ULK1 and LC3 was higher in younger pigs and not affected by treatment. The LC3-11/LC3-1 ratio was reduced and ULK1 phosphorylation increased by insulin, amino acids, and leucine. These responses were more profound in younger pigs. Abundance of Lamp-2 was not affected by treatment or development. Abundance of elF4E, but not rpS6, was higher in 6- than 26-d-old-pigs but unaffected by treatment. An organic geochemical,petrographical,and palynological evaluation was conducted on 30 claystone outcrop samples of the Toraja Formation,along with a geochemical analysis of an oil seep in the Enrekang *** aim of the study was to determine the correlation between oil and source rock in terms of age,depositional environment,organic material sources,and maturity *** total organic carbon content of the claystone samples varies from 0.03 to 4.52 wt%,which are classified as poor to *** claystones are immature to post-mature with a mixture of TypeⅡandⅢ*** vitrinite reflectance values range from 0.47 to 4.52%*** samples of Toraja Formation rock and the oil seep source rock might have a similar depositional environment,a deltaic marine depositional setting with high oxidizing *** material sources for rock and oil samples are dominated by terrestrial *** oil is inferred to have originated from the Paleogene source rocks,which correlates in age with the Toraja *** recovered palynomorphs from the studied rock samples suggest a late Eocene to Oligocene age with a strong terrestrial influence of shallow marine depositional *** biomarker analysis shows that the rock samples have a more substantial contribution from the terrigenous higher plants,while the oil sample indicates a higher degree of marine *** maturity levels are also different between the oil(peak mature)and the analyzed rock samples(immature).It is inferred that the oil seep source rock is equivalent to the analyzed rock sample but more mature,having been deposited under more marine *** oil seep source rock is not exposed and is located in the deeper part of the basin.A deeper marine facies(*** delta front and prodelta facies)in front of the distributary mouth bar within a delta is interpreted as the source rock of the oil seep sample.

Artificial ground freezing of underground mines in cold regions using thermosyphons with air insulation

Current practice of underground artificial ground freezing(AGF)typically involves huge refrigeration systems of large economic and environmental *** this study,a novel AGF technique is proposed deploying available cold wind in cold *** is achieved by a static heat transfer device called thermosyphon equipped with an air insulation layer.A refrigeration unit can be optionally integrated to meet additional cooling *** introduction of air insulation isolates the thermosyphon from ground zones where freezing is not needed,resulting in:(1)steering the cooling resources(cold wind or refrigeration)towards zones of interest;and(2)minimizing refrigeration *** design is demonstrated using well-validated mathematical models from our previous work based on two-phase enthalpy method of the ground coupled with a thermal resistance network for the *** Canadian mines are considered:the Cigar Lake Mine and the Giant *** results show that our proposed design can speed the freezing time by 30%at the Giant Mine and by two months at the Cigar Lake ***,a cooling load of 2.4 GWh can be saved at the Cigar Lake ***,this study provides mining practitioners with sustainable solutions of underground AGF.

CARVING-DETC: A network scaling and NMS ensemble for Balinese carving motif detection method

Balinese carvings are cultural objects that adorn sacred buildings. The carvings consist of several motifs,each representing the values adopted by the Balinese people. Detection of Balinese carving motifs ischallenging due to the unavailability of a Balinese carving dataset for detection tasks, high variance,and tiny-size carving motifs. This research aims to improve carving motif detection performance onchallenging Balinese carving motifs detection task through a modification of YOLOv5 to support adigital carving conservation system. We proposed CARVING-DETC, a deep learning-based Balinesecarving detection method consisting of three steps. First, the data generation step performs dataaugmentation and annotation on Balinese carving images. Second, we proposed a network scalingstrategy on the YOLOv5 model and performed non-maximum suppression (NMS) on the modelensemble to generate the most optimal predictions. The ensemble model utilizes NMS to producehigher performance by optimizing the detection results based on the highest confidence score andsuppressing other overlap predictions with a lower confidence score. Third, performance evaluation onscaled-YOLOv5 versions and NMS ensemble models. The research findings are beneficial in conservingthe cultural heritage and as a reference for other researchers. In addition, this study proposed a novelBalinese carving dataset through data collection, augmentation, and annotation. To our knowledge,it is the first Balinese carving dataset for the object detection task. Based on experimental results,CARVING-DETC achieved a detection performance of 98%, which outperforms the baseline model.

This study addresses heat transfer performance of various configurations of coiled non-circular tubes, e.g., in-plane spiral ducts, helical spiral ducts, and conical spiral ducts. The laminar flow of a Newtonian fluid in helical coils made of square cross section tubes is simulated using the computational fluid dynamic approach. The effects of tube Reynolds number, fluid Prandtl number, coil diameter, etc., are quantified and discussed. Both constant wall temperature and constant heat flux conditions are simulated. The effect of in-plane coil versus a cylindrical design of constant coil, as well as a conical coil design is discussed. Results are compared with those for a straight square tube of the same length as that used to form the coils. Advantages and limitations of using coiled tubes are discussed in light of the numerical results.

In underground coal mines, uncontrolled accumulation of methane and fine coal dust often leads to serious incidents such as explosion. Therefore, methane and dust dispersion in underground mines is closely monitored and strictly regulated. Accordingly, significant efforts have been devoted to study methane and dust dispersion in underground mines. In this study, methane emission and dust concentration are numerically investigated using a computational fluid dynamics(CFD) approach. Various possible scenarios of underground mine configurations are evaluated. The results indicate that the presence of continuous miner adversely affects the air flow and leads to increased methane and dust ***, it is found that such negative effect can be minimized or even neutralized by operating the scrubber fan in suction mode. In addition, it was found that the combination of scrubber fan in suction mode and brattice results in the best performance in terms of methane and dust removal from the mining face.
